    Hi can you please review the GAC S3 EMZOOM? There’s no review yet for this car with test drive. I think it will be a big hit here in PH this year and for the coming years

    Thanks Sir Roy for this style review, its good to follow up on a walkaround like this. In terms of which I would get, right now it would be this. Future, probably the XL7 hybrid as it finally gets cruise control.

      I'm glad you like this style of video! We're certainly going to make more of these :-) The Xpander Cross is really quite the looker and driving it, it feels like the closest and next best thing to a Montero Sport, but with an even more liveable space! - Roy

    it's the ground clearance and Yaw Control. 😄
    if you don't need that, definitely other MPVs might be better in some areas.

      I certainly agree that there are some MPVs that are better in some areas, while the Xpander Cross has a leg up in others! My quest for the "perfect" car continues!

    The Cross looks so all over the place. Like what is it trying to be? A sporty car? A gen 1 BRV cousin? An off roader?

      I think it’s best seen in the metal. While looks may be subjective, what I am certain of is that it sure looks better than the last one! - Roy

    if this was priced at P1.28M and the Xpander was priced at P1.1M for both top variants, it would have been great

    • @mindfreeze0838
      @mindfreeze0838 Před 11 měsíci +1

      Yeah, with global exchange rates, material costs and taxes as they are now, thats not happening. If you want a MPV at that price then look at the Kaicene Honor S or Ertiga Hybrid.

    • @ZigWheelsPhilippines
      @ZigWheelsPhilippines  Před 11 měsíci +1

      It definitely would! But I shudder at the kind of build quality and after-sales services these established brands would offer if the prices were that low. -Roy

    I wish they'd release a 4wd version

    • @mindfreeze0838
      @mindfreeze0838 Před 11 měsíci

      This class isnt really suited for that. MPV's are typically low cost family haulers. People that want the family hauling and the 4WD go for something like a Montero Sport or Fortuner. Putting 4wd on this would just needlessly increase the cost.

    • @Jerome-iwnl
      @Jerome-iwnl Před 11 měsíci

      @@mindfreeze0838 I think they would make a lot of money if they sold an xpander that's 4wd. Right now, the cheapest 4wd is jimny, we need more competition in this lower end of awd/4wd

    • @mindfreeze0838
      @mindfreeze0838 Před 11 měsíci

      @@Jerome-iwnl im not so sure that there is a great need in this segment for 4wd. The cost of adding it is significant and this is a price sensitive segment and market overall. The Jimny doesnt really factor in this as someone looking at a MPV rationally wont consider a Jimny, that vehicle is more for persons who know they are going offroad as its the worst on paved surfaces and not practical for a family in any aspect. Nowadays these MPV Crossovers try to bridge the gap between a softroader and a offroader with the higher ground clearance and a keep stability program to deal with some situations but thats it. If a family really wants to go offroad and they are price sensitive their best bet is a Monty.

    • @ZigWheelsPhilippines
      @ZigWheelsPhilippines  Před 11 měsíci +1

      It's true that there isn't much competition in the lower end of 4WD aside from base variant 4WD pickups-while it would undoubtedly be pricy, a 4WD Xpander might feel like the Mitsubishi Delica back in the day!

    • @mindfreeze0838
      @mindfreeze0838 Před 11 měsíci

      @@ZigWheelsPhilippines thats just it though, is there any concrete data that suggests there is a need for a 4wd MPV? Putting AWD or 4wd isnt a catch all, look at the now defunct Vitara, Suzuki Philippines bet the farm on Allgrip, it was the only offroad capable vehicle in the segment and what happened? Due to the increased price because of the Allgrip system(and some unnecessary costly accessories) it didnt stay around for long.

    only the sturdy chassis and the 22.5cm ground clearance plus the space makes this very good. the rest makes this and the Xpander overpriced for my liking.

      We own one and boy it actually drives so good im talking about the handling, the braking is pretty good but the power is a little bit underpowered but it still delivers the only thing about it that s*cks is lack of tech. The veloz got 360 camera, lane assist etc and us we only have reverse cam and wired apple car play and android auto but speakers is quite good just need to tune it well. But i still love it oh i forgot that theres YAW control im gonna track it next month to test that thing 🤣

      Mitsubishi Motors Corporati is a Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. In 2011, Mitsubishi Motors was the sixth-largest Japanese automaker and the 19th-largest worldwide by production.[6] Since October 2016, Mitsubishi has been one-third (34%) owned by Nissan, and included in the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance.
      Besides being part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, it is also a part of Mitsubishi keiretsu, formerly the biggest industrial group in Japan. The company was originally formed in 1970 from the automotive division of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
      Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, which builds commercial-grade trucks, buses, and heavy construction equipment, was formerly a part of Mitsubishi Motors, but is now owned by German automotive corporation Daimler Truck, with Mitsubishi continuing to own a small stake

    @Gteesma Před 11 měsíci

    The question is basically, Why would you get the Mitsubishi Xpander Cross when you have these Chinese Crossovers/MPVs at the same or lower price? Hehe

    • @mindfreeze0838
      @mindfreeze0838 Před 11 měsíci

      It depends on what you want, if you want 7 seats youre only Chineese option is the Kaicene Honor S.

    • @ZigWheelsPhilippines
      @ZigWheelsPhilippines  Před 11 měsíci +3

      I have to agree that many Chinese brands are currently undercutting the Japanese in terms of price and features, the latter still has a leg-up in terms of brand loyalty and perception. It's something no amount of marketing can really beat and aims to achieve. Reputation can only get you so far, though, other brands should start levelling up as well if they don't want to end up like Blackberry. Thanks for your comment! -Roy

      @Gteesma Před 11 měsíci

      @@ZigWheelsPhilippines Yup and, having a Mitsubishi and Suzki, I also have that mentally to be honest. After researching after markets and global materials, I can understand why prices of Japanese manufacturers are high.

    • @mindfreeze0838
      @mindfreeze0838 Před 11 měsíci

      @@ZigWheelsPhilippines true, one school of thought predicts the market will even itself out eventually price wise(i dont see that happening unless the Chineese decide to push that envelope). Another is that the Chineese will continue to gain marketshare as they continue to put more value based products in the price range of actual car buyers, thus improving perception.
      P. S. That BlackBerry comment stings man, had to get rid of my Keyone because the battery lasted as long as a icecream cone in the sun😭.
