  • One of the highlights of our Bloomsday Events 2024 is the UK Premier of Laoisa Sexton and Trevor Murphys’ Feature Film, “The Ulysses Project” which features upto 75 actors who take on the great book, to bring you non-traditional re-telling of Joyces masterpiece. The actors include John Turturro, Aidan Gillen, Olwen Fouéré, Patrick Bergin, Paula Meehan, Barry Ward and Shane MacGowan.
    To bring you this film, the ICC has collaborated with the Bloomsday Film Festival in Dublin where ‘The Ulysses Project” had its world premiere in 2023.
    Recently one of the directors, Laoisa Sexton, came on our monthly Radio Show “Bright Side of The Road” along with the director of Dublin’s Bloomsday Film Festival, Tommy Creagh to tell us how this extra ordinary project was made during lock down.
    We hope you join us for this special screening coming to the ICC on Thursday June 13th .Also put in your diaries other highlights of out Bloomsday Celebrations - on June 14th we will be bringing you a special concert and a talk, “James Joyce and Music”, featuring the magnificent actor Barry McGovern, who’s regarded as one of the greatest performer of of James Joyce and Samuel Beckett; he’ll appearing with Ireland’s most sublime classical and contemporary composers, Benjamin Dwyer! Plus on June 15th & June 16th, back by. popular demand, we have a return of the sellout hit show “Nora & Jim” which tells the love story of James Joyce and Nora Barnacle.

    Congratulations, Laoisa. I remember in college you were so visually talented, it's wonderful to see you bringing the same luscious gift to words.
