    Hi there!
My name is Dela and I moved to Ghana from the UK in 2014. I have been living here with my 4 and trying to build a house in Ghana while establishing the lifestyle that we have craved for years.
On this channel, I'll be showcasing what it's like to live in Ghana and be a part of the diaspora, building a house in Ghana, and some relationship talks too.
I hope you'll enjoy this channel. Don't forget to subscribe if you do!

Hmmm. My spidey senses are firing like crazy on this.
    1. Google? UN? When have they EVER done anything for any interests other than their own? Are the net benefits Ghanaian/African? What even ARE the net benefits outside of personal profit?
    2. What are the benefits for the FARMERS? Are they better off under this system? How? (I'm typing while still listening to the video, so hopefully that'll come up).
    3. Soya bean? Maize? Are these traditional local crops? Who decided what crops to grow and why? I watch A LOT of Ghanaian yt - I've never seen ANYONE talking about soya or maize in their cooking? I *HAVE* seen MANY western organisations suggesting that these crops should be promoted throughout the world for various reasons, including changing traditional eating habits (especially away from meat).
    4. This woman mentioned there not being enough food to feed the people on the continent. Really?! I hear this A LOT in western media - again, I consume A LOT of African media and 'starving Africans' is a trope they've tried hard to move away from. There are starving people in the west - why don't they go and flood those markets with these crops?
    5. Are the crops GMO?
    6. Are the farmers able to buy seed wherever they like or are they forced to buy them from certain 'approved' sellers? Do the farmers have autonomy and agency over what they grow or are we diasporans essentially enslaving them all over again?
    7. Where did you meet this interviewee?
In short, I'm HIGHLY sceptical of the players and motivations behind this. I'm off to research further, but for now I'm feeling kinda 'nope' about it. Sorry, Dela - I'm a hustle-minded girl like you, but sometimes you have to look further down the road past immediate profit to understand the broader, longer-term implications. Africa's gone through enough at the hands of the west and they're not ready to give up that colonial relationship anytime soon. This just feels like same old, same old but through a different door (diasporans). For now, for me: nahhh, nope, no thankyou very much!!!! But love to you all the same 😂❤

I do not trust Google nor the UN.

This is a bad investment for the farmer. They do all the work to grow the crop and gain little return in the end. Also, the risk is high for the investors as most farmer on this program depend on rain for their crops (no borehole) and in dry season the farmer doesn't harvest enough as all their crops dies. Farmer, investors makes nothing in this case, but this company will make a profit regardless of outcome. Lastly, if the farmer has a successful harvest, the second problem they face is transportation. They lose crops because roads are too bad during rainy season and farmers can't afford good transport or a storage facility to bring their goods to the market. Please do NOT invest in this company. They need to work with the farmers first to address these issues and insure that the farmers will be successful, instead of only lining their pockets with money.

Yah, you will fund her company and she will sell crops and use the excuse of no rain to not pay you your tiny profit. A real modern farmer uses electric power and irrigation not relying on rain. No offence but the lady is trying to pull a fast one on naive diasporans. You're better off setting up your own farm on your own land with your own irrigation system. Will it be expensive? YES. Will you make a lot of money ON YOUR OWN? YESSS! There's no money in sharing quarter plots amongst hundreds of people ON A BIG FARM. Buy your own land and do your own thing! @@IMAGINE-8

Why does this sound like a big scam? The U.N is suspect. After the earthquake in Haiti, western interests wanted to give gmo seed to the Haitians. The problem with that was the plant itself did not make seed. Haitian farmers would have to yearly buy seed, sending hard earned $ outside of the country. Why is Africa growing foreign grains. There is a large variety of grains, plants native to Africa that is more nutritious and easily available to the people.
The west realize the plants that grow naturally in Africa are more nutritious, these will end up being exported out, while Africa is stuck with the high carb, sugary gmo corn and soya. You will end up with the same health, weight issues that African American are suffering from. Please rethink, and invest in your own native plants for farming. Quinoa is an example of South American grain that is exported out at a huge profit while the native people who grown it for centuries remain poor.

Common guys let's be honest here; The moment she mentioned "it depends on the rain" i lost interest. How about she get's power and irrigation going. There is no real money in this kind of investments. I've seen so many of these investments in Gh and they never go far. You're better off just GETTING YOUR OWN HANDS DIRTY on your own land. I have read some of the comments here obviously from African Americans who have no clue what the average African earns .I just came back from Nigeria ( I am Nigerian ) Three eggs cost 500 naira , one cup of rice costs 1000 naira , while the average Nigerian earns 1500 naira a day . Do the math, people are starving !! No one is going hungry in America ! Food stamps , school meals , food banks .I volunteer at a food bank and we give out a box of food to everyone no questions asked !! GMO is a first world problem , in African countries the life expectancy is 55years . People need to eat and do not care if it is GMO if you are going to be dead at 55!! How are things in Ghana ? Meanwhile in America where I guess the farmers grow GMO? Americans are living well into their 80s !!
