This WWII era War Department training film (TF 18-1116) shows the secondary weapons that a tank-hunting team uses to destroy tanks as well as ambush methods that assist in destroying enemy tanks. The film features what appears to be a captured Polish 7TP light tank used by the Panzerwaffe. The tank moves over a small gully and through trees (00:47). The film shows inside the tank and the view through the window slits (01:12). The tank’s turret revolves around. An illustration is used to show the “dead space” where a tank cannot fire (02:58), giving tank hunters safe zones. The film then shows the vulnerable spots on a tank, including the exposed windows in the front of the tank, periscope, turret, turret rings, tracks, idlers, and wheels (03:50).Three U.S. soldiers get out of a jeep (04:58); viewers see the weapons they use to hunt tanks: anti-tank mines, smoke grenades, and rocket grenades with a rocket launcher. The men sight in their carbines. One of them carries the rocket launcher; he shoots a piece of steel with the weapon. A soldier demonstrates throwing a smoke grenade (06:24). The three-man tank hunting team moves on foot and locates a tank. A soldier sites in the tank with the rocket launcher. When the tank is close, he shoots the tank. A tank stops on a dirt road because of tin cans out on a road (08:27)-an ambush method used for attacking tanks. A soldier drapes shelter halves across the road to stop and ambush a tank. A tank is out of gas but is hidden in the cover of some trees (10:30). The tank hunting team demonstrates how to approach and attack the tank by diverting the tank’s fire with one member while the grenade crew moves in for a high-percentage shot. The soldiers tie anti-tank mines together with heavy wire (11:31), then they camouflage the mines, and wait to pull the mines into the path of the tank once the tank moves into a position creating necessary dead space. A tank moves through a gully and the tank hunters toss smoke grenades to provide cover (12:58); a soldier takes a log and puts it between the bogey wheel and the idler wheel. The film concludes with footage of a solider shooting a rocket launcher at a tank and hitting it.

How to destroy a German tank that got itself hopelessly lost somewhere in the Midwest.
Ha!aa!aaaaaa!
mike blubaugh The hell
After watching this video, an American would know:
- where tank armor is weak and where it is strong
- where tanks can and can't shoot
- that making it look like something weird is happening will force the tank commander to poke his head out
- that shooting will force the tank commander to "button up"
- how to use teamwork and cover to get close to an enemy tank
While facing up against multiple tanks with infantry support would be far more difficult than facing a lone tank, the application of these principles would still be the key to success. As such, the video does its job.

Q: When does a tank travel alone?
A: In a War Department training film
And along with no other tanks; we will never allow Panzergrenadiers or any infantry to accompany us!
When it broke down and its infantry left it
Also in Soviet Russia in the early years of the war, because they didn't bother to develop a tank doctrine or realize tanks needed an infantry support. One would think that the Winter War with Finland would be enough of a lesson.
Usually in a quick unpredictable war, the tanks can charge ahead of the infantry
You possibly could pick up a lone tank doing a screen on a road and the crew dont see you coming
That quickdraw at 5:16 was pretty slick.
As silly as it sounds, my squad would form Hunter/Killer groups in Battlefield V, a game set in ww2. We'd outfit with an MMG, or LMG, a couple assault rifles, and a medic, along with a lot of AT weapons. This way we could engage errant squads on foot, or armour as we found it. We employed a lot of these techniques during our time playing. Laying mines in vulnerable areas like enemy resupply points, setting up ambushes with the MMG, and deploying smoke into the face of enemy tanks to blind them, so we could plant explosives on them, or at the very least, drive them off. We did surprisingly well. Granted, it's a game and not real life, but still. It did well.

Soviets wanted to use dogs as suicide bombers on german tanks and taught them how to sniff them out
seems great on paper right?
Well, what they done is they trained dogs to sniff THEIR OWN TANKS which the soviets used DIESEL which has a very different smell than the German's GAS. when they put them on the battlefield the dogs started getting scared which ran BACK TO THEIR OWNERS and under the own SOVIETS TANKS because of the confusion in the battlefield.

Some became rebels and helped freedom fighters and etc. Nazi by all means were not fightning for their country but for conquest.

😂🤣😂 very good mate lol
Ya i know this tutorial suck
Silly answer. More like tanks have infantry support because of this.
Also it would be silly to have infantry run into a strayed tank and can't deal with it because they don't have this basic training.
Finally a lot of stuff happens in a war. Yeah tanks are supposed to be deployed in platoons with infantry support... But just give it a few months of war or a few hours of battle and you can run into very unusual situations: platoon got broken apart or decimated, tank got stuck while infantry retreated... And so on...
You’d be surprised how often that happened
@@random_name3977 Which part of "unlikely" havent you understood?
Using crap tanks like that M2, no wonder the Nazis lost.
Oh, wait a sec...
The m2’s frontal turret armor was actually thicker than some of the Tiger’s frontal hull armor
I think
The tiger had a 102mm frontal plant, don’t think a light tank can sport that

That’s not right
Tiger : 102mm
M2 : somewhere about 30-50mm

Instructive video until you take it out of the scenario it's meant to be used and make your own where it can't be applied
Or in a destroyed city when the tiger has he shells loaded
I love the way the narrators talk in these old films
The log trick is the one thing that keeps my 1/6 scale tank bogged down outside. It finds every stick in my yard and that's all it takes for my attack to stall. And then the enemy artillery pile on the death kill.
“And it’s all your Adolf” I’m gonna use this all the time now
Kaiser SwagHelm II they probably did
6:27 We got a traitor
Took me a second to figure out what you were talking about. He is doing the German salute!
Same xD
Underrated 😂😂
Lol
Nope, wrong Hand XD
Thx for giving us tips to make them more secure.
Some of the saddest parts is realizing war is real and this stuff had to be taught to the generation before us.
This video is assuming it's one lonely tank and without infantry support.
Other circumstances would had needed more reinforcements.
Your buddies deal with the infantry. Your not alone, either.
It is an American tank taken by the Germans. I am assuming the commander got lost, the driver approached the Americans forgetting he was German 😂🤣
If you're a three man team facing several tanks with infantry support, you leave. You don't try to fight all that on your own.
Or a really badass canadian who can liberate a whole town alone.

@@SERGEANTDlCK It's spelt Scheisse but it means shit in German.
They used an M3 Stuart and a diagram of a Panzer IV not a Tiger
Imaginary gf lol
So remember! When you're in the North African Desert next week, you only need a few seconds to secretly get right up next to a Panzer!
Respect to the camera who has been hiding in the German tank and recording a dude in the tank
It's like IKEA DIY videos. It's always easy and clean-cut in the video. But in real life, that's another story
Too many things are like this is life lmao
The self assembled Light Tank "Adolf" is available
Of course! So many variables irl.
@@CetoFreakingKaiba well nobody is gonna charge head-up towards an active tank, I think they assumed you'd be crouching/crawling

Therapist: German Stuart isn’t real, it can’t hurt you
German Stuart:
😁
Germany probably had at least one M5 Stuart fighting at some point. Maybe captured from Russia, or Africa, or early European battles.
Well we had Beutepanzer so yeah we took them over
don't trust the rapist
And stil can't hurt u
Thanks for uploading this it’ll be very useful the next time I need to destroy a WWII era German tank
That face when you're overconfident as shit after watching some technique videos that feature small panzer mock-up tankette and you dismount in Normandy to see panthers and tigers.
Imagine being a soldier that watched all these videos, trained like hell for years and then being rewarded with a visit to the beaches of normandy
These videos are for specialist tank-hunters
Rip
Jess Blues well yes but it’s for special training so most soldiers needed to know what to use to destroy certain things, soldiers are not dumb retards they are highly trained killing machines
Yup, imagine bieng the guy who earns a fat hole in the stomach while still in the landing craft...
Although it would be the same for all nations. Imagine you were a young Japanese man, going through all the training, vowing to bring pride and honour to your family and the Emperor, telling your family you are going to kill many of the invaders, and if you die you vow to take many of the enemy down with you.
After all that, you get deployed in a pillbox as a machine gunner. You never do get to see the 'enemy', after a couple of quiet days you suddenly hear the door to the pillbox getting kicked open, some foreign guy shouting a strange word 'FRY!', and the next (and last) thing you feel is your body getting superheated to over 1000 degrees Farenheit.
This would be the fate of many combatants on all sides....
LOL,,,,trained for years? Ha ha ha ha,,,,,,more like months or even just weeks, this was WW2.
Presenter: The tank cannon cannot aim at the second floor of a house
American: i'm on the second floor is according to my training based on a video you can't do anything
German: Was ist, wenn ich das Haus niederbringe? ( What if I bring the house down? )
American: smarter than i thought
And.....suddenly you’re not on the 2nd floor anymore 🤣😂🙈
Germans: Fett! Fahrer, zehn Meter zurück!
@@FurryKeidran98 Beruhige meinen amerikanischen Freund und kapituliere
Tank simply needs to be 13 m away from the house and it can shoot down the second floor.

How to destroy a tank that was actually not a german tank but an american tank
@Colton Froeba, The Divine Will the description says "7TP"
A 7TP is based on the Vickers 6 ton, which the tank in the video is not.
It looks like an M2A4 light tank, this being filmed in America this is almost certainly the case.
M2A4 tanks did not have the ability to put their drivers hatches up. Most likely a 7tp
@@conradek6841 upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/3/32/The_British_Army_in_the_United_Kingdom_1939-45_H17816.jpg/600px-The_British_Army_in_the_United_Kingdom_1939-45_H17816.jpg
Funny, that M2 managed to open it's hatches.
Why are there 2 hatches on the front? The 7TP only has one
Why are there 4 Road wheels per side? The 7TP has 8
Why does that turret have a cupola? The 7TP doesn't.
For reference, here is a 7TP: i.imgur.com/jAX9AmV_d.jpg?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&fidelity=medium
Either way it teaches the skills required
