    I have a rough country bumper and I called them with a question while installing it at 10am on a Saturday, and they answered the phone within a couple of rings and I got an answer to my question from a real person. That’s a big deal in my book.

    I agree %100 I own Grimm Brothers Offroad in Ashland and I have to say Rough Country has really stepped up their game in terms of Suspension quality. Just last week we installed a 3.5" lift on a JK and yesterday we received another Job with the exact same lift, but this time it came with control arm drops and in the box with a new drop pitman arm. These items were previously sold separately, but it seems rough country has become more conscious to the fact that today's consumers do not want to sacrifice ride quality for a lifted suspension and are answering that call.

    Last month while driving in heavy winds, a 10" diameter tree came down across the road in front of me. I hit it at over 50mph. Only damage to the suspension is the leaf spring bushings. And right rear shackle for the front leaf spring.

      Same truck that is on my channel. Welds never tore and never had any components besides the shocks fail but as I said I blew them out and they were their older ones which are known to fail. I haven't had my ball joints go bad despite the off roading. It's a good kit but it's no custom built baja kit. If you need to get up off the ground and are going to be doing trails it will work just fine for you. If you are looking to blast around off road at speed prepare to open your wallet and look elsewhere.
      Ride quality is comparable to factory but it's a truck not a Cadillac.

Truck is used for trails and off-road 75% of the time, I don’t beat on my truck, but I’m also not afraid of pushing it. They hit the mark, at least for my old ass hoopty. If you plan on hitting the desert, dunes, or even spend time driving down old fire roads or dozer roads you might want to hold out for a better option. I went with Camburg uppers, Fox 2.5 remost resi front and rear with a deaver mini pack in the rear. Night and day difference off-road. If your not looking to off road much or just like the look RC is a good option.

      You should have replaced the T-rod ends and ball joints when you did the lift installation. Just makes it easier overall. Any time you put a lift on and leave the stock ball joints and tierod ends on they will more than likely fail shortly afterwards, no matter who's lift kit you installed. I did a RC 6" on my 96 GMC Yukon 4x4, and replaced tierod ends and ball joints with Balkamp ball joints and tierod ends. That was three years ago and shes as tight as the day she rolled off the dealers lot. The other thing to do is at 500 miles re-tighten everything and ever 3K miles there after. Happy wheelen Bro!

Combined that with big wheels and small times you have less rubber to cushion the road with.

    I helped my co-worker lift his 00 cherokee before he sold it to me about a month later. All thats left of that rc kit is the front coil springs and the shocks are coming out for fox 2.0 shocks tomorrow. Everything else is from IRO out of Michigan. Long arms, spring packs, shackles, front truss, tube sleeves, c gussets. Trans cross member.

    Bought and installed RC 6 inch for my 68 f100 back in 93 never had a problem navigating trails in Oregon.
    Bought and installed RC 6 inch suspension and 3 inch body for my 02 f150 about a year ago...... never had a problem. Plus they sent me really cool hats and hoodies and have ALWAYS given me excellent tech info over the phone. Very courteous professional and knowledgeable reps. Sounds like someones competition may be butt hurt.

      Ok i apologize took it the wrong way.. the nice thing about the boat is alot of your local credit unions will finance them for 180 months so there fairly cheap. It sounds like a long time but alot of people do it otherwise it would be impossible to afford a new truck n boat on 60 month loans

    • @Nothingtoya
      @Nothingtoya Před 5 lety +2

      @@MarkFisch I think I commented on the wrong comment, sorry.
      I had a brake line blow out, their track bar bracket would rub my coil springs, the track bar bushings quickly went bad, the coil spring and leaf springs sagged at different rates, by the time I replaced the leaf springs, they had a slight s shape to them, and 3 of the shocks that came with the kit blew out. I just wasnt impressed, I had only put a few hundred miles on the kit before things started going wrong.
      I will say, for whatever reason, their control arms held up and the bushings in the control arms, even when I changed it to a 3 link set up, they still held together. Matter of fact, my CZcams pic is with the 3 link control arms. They were the only thing I passed on to someone else, the rest of the kit I scrapped.

      I have a 3.5 inch lift RC lift w n3 shocks on my JL and don’t really like it. I feel the road vibrations and imperfections a lot more. Tested it with the factory wheels and the aftermarket wheels and not much of a noticeable difference. I just can’t tell if the issues is with the springs or shocks.

  • @imududeplaynududedisguisedasa-

    I have a 6" RC lift on my 2017 Ram, The UCAs are flush, the lifts tight, it's a smooth ass ride and doesn't float. It's a great lift.
    Edit:
    With it being a bracket lift It also doesn't spread the stance up front like you see on some of the goofy ass chevys all around town running knuckle lifts.
    Personal opinion but i'd rather not use wheel spacers to remedy this on a truck that will be hauling or bearing weight.
    In short The RC lift is a great way to get lifted for less and still be able to go hunting and climb stuff without breaking anything as long as your not trying to hit whoops or jump it. Then i would recommend a long arm lift not one of these.

      @motomaniac-cw9vy Před 5 lety

      The knuckle lift only makes the front end wider on older trucks it doesnt do it now. The knuckle lift is much stronger and better than the bracket.

      @@fighter727 Hello Fighter727. I went with the 6" kit that was $1,399.95 and the wheel an tire size i went with is 20x12, -44 offset, Nitto 35x12.5 if you want to search their website for mine.
      I know the 2500 kits are a little more pricey and come with more parts and heavier hardware. Yours will look like it sits a lot higher then a 1500 as well because of its higher profile already. I just looked over mine and everything is still solid and looks new.
      Make sure if you are running an offset to have the sensor stems installed toward tire side.if not they may push against your tie rods. Good luck.

    95' Jeep ZJ 3.5 inch lift. RC Front+Rear Shocks & HD Tie Rod(everything else is RubiconExpress/Rusty's/CrownAutomotive). Only issue I am having after about a year is the rear shocks are making clunking noises over bumps which was disappointing but manageable by turning up the volume knob. No other issues.
