My family owns a farm in the middle of nowhere and there is a better 1963 f100 abandoned in one of the fields
Samuel Rowland I’ll take that truck off your hands
A good way to remove tint, is to saturate the window with an ammonia spray and then cover with a plastic garbage bag (since the window would be wet, the garbage bag will "stick" to the window..) and let sit in the sun for 20-30 mins. The tint comes off much easier. I've done this exact method on 2 cars and it cut the tedious time down of scraping and peeling. Just be careful working with ammonia....shit stinks.
Listen to this guy ☝
Yup that does work, old school technique 👌
Best technique did it on my double tinted windows that where plati dip sprayed when ingot my truck
Trash bag method works 💯 #ol school
Its been a while.
Michael Martinez since I could
Calvin is the biggest chach about his cars to the point where I’m not even sure if he likes them
Nah I feel him
lol i get the same vibe , i like calvin tho 😂🤣
How many other detailers cringed watching this?
Ben Redlich 🤣🤣 not gonna lie I did a bit
Did they actually do anything wrong, or just not up to detailer standard?
They just haven't done it enough I guess.
Yep.... no towel folds, not claying while washing, buffer control...
Explain "clay baring while washing" for me lol
I knew this day would come
Hunt gang
Lets begin another year long journey of Calvin building the 240
Nice video Teej! lovin the oldies!
Yay more cars!!! Keep it coming man!!!
Seeing just teej and Calvin make a video like old times is nice, anyone else?
Nothing like a good detail!
About time we get some 240 content going again! Not at all complaining about other content though. Favorite youtuber by far.
That was a filler episode if I’ve ever seen one
I like these videos with just calvin and tj doing a simple car job
From my experience working on a Ferrari Testarossa that has Stage 1 Paint, I was able to polish it and honestly it is a lot easier to polish than cars with a real clear coat. 1 way to tell if your paint is a Stage 1 paint job is that the paint color will start to rub off onto the polishing pad. Since the 240SX is blue, your paint would turn blue, if it was a stage 1 paint job. Other than that the deep scratches should come out if wet sanded. I recommend starting with 2000 grit and if you're able to see them, then go 1500, 1000, as needed. You don't want to run the risk of sanding away too much paint without a paint gauge reader.
Love the vids teej keep up the good work 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I like that rolling down the window like an OG! Nice!
Great Car washing vid Teeg!
Man TJ you never disappoint I love your kinda daily vlogs i cant wait for tomorrows episode lol
Been asking all summer where this car has been.. but finally can’t wait for more 240 content !
this video was very satisfying
That's awesome! I didn't know the 240 was still around!
Very good my boy TJ keep up and love video 💯
I feel like this is the beginning of a build series on the 240!!!
Believe It or Not these are the coolest videos to watch pressure washing waxing restoring a car good video
dude I had to do a double take on the shift knob haha. Nice work on the paint. That Duck needs some paint for sure.
Pro tip for window tint removal. Mist with pure ammonia... Tape a trash bag over the tint to make an "oven" over just the glass and tint...place in direct sun for an hour or more to bake. Peel off tint like butter and wipe any leftover goo with more ammonia. BAM...no more tint! 🤘
Get some wool pads to “cut” into the paint when using compound and polishing pads for the polish. Yes you can wet sand and buff single stage paint and clear coats. You should try using 2000, 2500 grit sand paper or better yet Trizact 3000 sanding disc as it sands out fine scratches and its whole lot easier to buff out.
Love the video, keep it up
I like the spoilers btw Throtl and Tj videos 😂
This needs to be built full on! Love to see it built
Calvin looks like Jackie Chan at the end when he rolled up 😂
The 240 is back!!!
At work but i had to take a 9:01 ‘bathroom break’ to watch teeg
(As someone who does this for a living) Calvin’s technique wasn’t bad. But the ultimate polish is not nearly strong enough. I wouldn’t advise using a strong compound on this paint without being fully equipped to handle it. But with a better pad (like meg’s polishing/finishing pad) and m205, he would get the results he wants. Good on ya boys for doing it on your own.
(I say meguiars products bc he uses them)
Man TJ you should do this kind of video more often you got straight to the content we wanted to see instead of 10 minutes of absolutely nothing and then like a minute of what we actually wanted to see keep up the good work
Love you tj I love the photo shopped Adams 240 to gray for the thumbnail
Great video guys
It’s been overdue glad to see it
More of this stuff plz tj hunt
Great job! Looks good, means it will feel good, and feel good will motivate good practice.
First time i have seen Tj and Calvin clean a car on this channel
It's alive!!
Calvin: i almost dont want to park it outside now
TJ: akward laugh, walk away, edit that out, cue outro music
Bwhahaha
try using the compound with a wool wheel for scratches, if it doesnt cut it go to wet sand and use 2500 grit then compound and polish be gentle on the wet sand! could use 2k as well...
I learned from a tint guy here in Texas that Formula 409 is the best for removing tint. You can use a razor blade to help with removal on glass without defrost in it. But on rear glass with defrost be very careful. Even without a razor you can destroy your defrost from just pulling on the tint. So try to soak the glue and get it behind the tint
iWorking in a tinting shop, ive picked up some moves on how to easily take tint off of windows as i do it every day. Top #1, dont use heat!!! heat makes it stick more, what you want to do is take some soapy water and a razor blade and just sorta peel it off, once you've peeled off a corner, just spray a bunch of soapy water inside and under the tint and just slowly peel it off. to remove the gross glue shit off of it, pray it down with the same water and just scrape it away with a new razor blade and it'll come off so easily. Back windows are difficult to tint as you need to shrink them to get them to conform to the shape of the window. I suggest going to a tinting shop and learning how to do that and it'll make life so much easier for you. Finally, before applying the tint, make sure the window is spotless, any little bit of dust will show and its no fun. I would love to video chat with you and show you a little bit on how to clean and tint windows properly!
Good to see the 240 getting some love
TJ WILL LIKE THIS
Great video guys.
Your 240 does have a clear coat.
If it had been single stage paint, that buffer you were using would have been blue as blue can be.
I believe Nissan/Datsun has been clear coating all their cars & trucks, all the way back into the 70's.
You still have to be just as careful though, when you are dealing with base coat /clear coat paint job.
Car makers do not put that much clear on a car.
You really have to be careful and go slow. Using the Meguiars products that you were using was the perfect choice for the job. In their Ultimate series of products, they use a fine synthetic grit that disappears as it's being used. Way safer for your paint and doesn't cut fast. It's not as gritty, nor as dangerous as the rougher compounds can be.
I did a 3000 grit wetsand with a small squeegee on my deeper scratches on my Nissan.
I was able to get most of them out.
Then I used all of the same products that you used, except for the buffer.
I chose to use a Meguiars DA polisher.
It's a lot of work no doubt. I finished up with a nice hand waxed coat of Meguiars ULTIMATE Pure Synthetic Polymer Wax. My paint looks like a mirror. The paint looks wet and deep. People ask me all the time if I have a custom paint job on my car... LOL
Maintenance is a breeze as well, with Meguiars Synthetic Polymer detail spray.
All I usually have to do is dust my car everyday. I don't wash it often and I just use the spray when it needs it.
No I don't work for Meguiars. I do love their products though. They have three different lines now. I choose to use the ULTIMATE pure synthetic polymer line of products.
That's all you guys will have to do with this 240. If you're going to leave it sitting out all the time. Go out and buy yourself a genuine California duster( not those cheap lookalikes) and just dust the car off. It will always look nice. I bought a triangular shaped small duster, that's advertised for your dash and I use that on my wheels. Keep it dusted...lol
Keep given out the great advice and video's.
Build the car man! Give the 240 more love!
Bruh TJ I love you 😍😍
For tint removals use the trash bag method, defroster , steamer and/or 409.
Can we get more 240SX content? And make sure that Calvin doesn’t take 240 years to finish it.
It’s about time Calvin
Judging by the swirling, you need to use a microfiber cutting pad when you use the M205 compound, the foam pad isn’t aggressive enough. Still looks a lot better tho. And if the paint is single stage, you need to test it with a paint depth gauge to make sure you dont take too much off. Single stage has the color and clear in one coat, saves time during manufacturing for companies like Nissan that pump out a ton of cars.
What gun are they using on the pressure washer cause its not the one it came with? I want that foam cannon.
Yooooo let’s see more 240 content!!!
What spray gun is that? I have the same harborfreight power washer and need a better compatible gun
Why is Adam LZ's 240sx in the thumbnail but photoshopped Matt gray?
Try heating up the tint then pulling it off. You can also do a steamer. Those always seem to do the trick. Just dont use a blade to scrape the rear glass you will damage the defrosters. Thats if you care about them. Great video....
TJ, pay my plane ticket and I will come with supplies to completely correct that paint. Satisfaction guaranteed my friend.
Teegg your little chach.love the vids btw❤️
I used to remove tint as a job for a while. The best Method on the back window is to take spray on glue and cut out the shape of the window with a black garbage bag spray the glue on the inside of the window and place the garbage bag there as well. Park it out in the Sun for A-day or 2 and slowly peel back on the bag. It will then take it off.👍
Great to see some garage content washing a car is satisfying to me and it’s a cheap mod
Car looks really good it's nice
Hey guys try a hand held steamer to get the old tint off smoothly, it’s melts and glue without damaging glass or melting tint. I have done this many times and it works well. Love ya videos boys keep it up
Hey, if you take a razor blade and use adhesive remover the tint should come right off! Just use caution with the rear defroster.
Great vid😎
Calvin, polish old paing like that with a wool pad, it cuts faster and polishes old paint easier, single stage or not it doesnt really matter, i also recommend using a heavy duty cut compound. :detailer for 4 years now a autobody painter
Need more video of this car been working on
Ahh the best part of the day. (spongebob narrator voice)
240 is back Boyz
This video made me happy
I don’t know about you guys but letting a car get to that level of dirty then washing it off is EXTREMELY SATISFYING I wanna melt in my chair lmao
Love the vids
I honestly forgot about this thing, and I watch daily
You should let Calvin make long vlogs on his 240 for a week like if you agree
I was just thinking about how I want to do one of these one day. Maybe once I finish the Nova
Thats some THICC dust!
You can get those deep scratch out by sanding down the clear coat with a 5000 grit wet sand paper first-- then polish with that cutting pad and rubbing compound... Same concept to how you sand down orange peal and polish
Triggered when TJ was washing in circles
You can wet sand and buff single stage solid colors. But if you do metallics you’ll see a halo around where you sanded. You also can’t blend single stage metallics either, last I checked anyways. Love the car tho man! Y’all did good with that buffer
Meguiar’s Swirl X or 3M Fast Cut Plus are my favourite cutting and polishing combos. Great products
Calvin looks like Jackie Chan at 8:25
slackin on the content recently bud
Just a heads up, you can remove the tint by spraying soapy wet water on the windows and cutting garbage bags and putting them on the went tint. Let it sit in the sun for a few hours and then peel the garbage bags off and the tint will come right off!
its just sooo satisfying washing a car that dirty
Let's see some truck mods!
Single stage can be buffed if you have the experience. Single stage turn your pad the same color as the car if it dose not it has clear. Try avoid hitting the window sprayers it will damage them and you pads. Keep the pad flat steady and consistent movements and watch more detailing videos to improve your detailing skills
Use a steamer and a blade for the tint. Use the steamer and go back and forth on the tint and make sure the whole tint area is wet, then get a corner of the tint and start to peel it up. Once it rips or it all comes off, heat up the window with the steamer again and use the blade flat against the glass and slide it across the back and forth until the tint is gone. the steam will heat the glue behind the tint and cause it to separate from the glass, and the blade will get underneath the edges of the tint that you cant get your finger underneath
240 looking good again
Legend has it that Teeg has more hidden abandon cars.
I’m so jealous of your detailing supplies.
I wanna see more of this 240
