A 2023 Review of the Scalextric Jaguar XJ8 C.382 aka Castrol XJR9 Winner of the 1988 Daytona 24 hour

  • What a lovely model, this is a review of Scalextric model number C382, its unclear to me if it's a Jaguar XJ8 or the Jaguar XJR9 which competed in the United States under Castrol sponsorship and won the Daytona 24 Hour Race in 1988 - see links at bottom.
    For our review we look at the styling and the design features of the car along with a track test running Scalextric Arc Pro powerbase in Analogue mode on Scalextric Sport Track.
    The tyres are original but have been prepared using the techniques shown in this instructive Tyre / Tire preparation and treatment video.

    How easy would this be to convert to digital?

      For Scalextric Digital I would use the Retro Fit chip as this should fit between the motor and the light unit.

      @@PaulHedgeland I have the C7005 retro chip, but it doesn’t seem to be straight forward to incorporate the lights. People are saying that resisters and diodes need adding to the circuit
