  • A 2023 Review of the Scalextric Escort Mexico Mk1 Rally Special looking at the background of the 1:1 car, the Scalextric body detail and its general look. Reviewing the chassis, the model we are reviewing is the C109 which is the same chassis and is stamped C.052, plus noting any characteristics that stand out. Finally we will be doing a track test with our Scalextric Arc Pro Digital power base and Scalextric sport track using wireless controllers and comparing the lap times against our previous five reviews.
We wrap up our six car review of Scalextric Cars in the 1980s Catalogues with this Escort Mexico Mk1 and re-run our Ferrari 312 T3 around the track one last time.
The lap times mentioned regarding the 1:1 cars - more detail can be found here touringcarracing.net.

I have that same model, it's one of my quickest old-timers on the track. 😊

It’s def iconic, I am planning on entering a rally series in 2024 with it :-)

The year that version came out (82 I think ) they tried to revamp the whole range of cars with similar arbitrary colour schemes. I don't think it was a design success.

I agree. I keep meaning to respray this one but each time I think about it I find actually I quite like it, not because it’s a classic livery but because it’s a classic Scalextric.
