I loved the Ep. 1 game as a kid. I remember genociding Tatooine as Qui Gon and being unable to progress 😂
Seriously, if you get burnt out from CZcams. Then I would seriously recommend trying a go at voice acting. You got range Junko!

Back then when I was a kid, the Mos Espa segment of the Phantom Menace was my favorite. I had save just in the entrance of the city to do it again, again and again. It was my first time I could experience roaming a city and talk to npc, making choice and quest, and collect EVERY item possible.
I didn't have a PC back then, so the awsome games like Bladur's gate and Planescape was unreachable. This segment of the game gave me a glimpse (without knowing it) of what will become later trivial (but wonderful) in video games. This was my favorite moment in a Star Wars video games... Until I could roam the streets of Taris in the legendary Knights of the old Republic.
TPM's Tattooine levels gave me wayyy too much room to play around... and it was perfect.
Thanks for sharing, I feel like we all have moments like this one with certain games in our childhood that were like the first glimpse of a future we so excitedly anticipated that which we have now become so complacent for.

Man! I loved this video! That era of Expanded Universe Star Wars (Dark Forces/Shadows of the Empire) pre-Phantom Menace was just.... chefs kiss. Great memories with these games and it looks like you had a great time making this video. I was pointing at my screen too when the Power of the Force action figures were on screen hahaha! Just a huge nostalgia hit. You're awesome for this video dude, definitely my favourite of yours so far!

We had Phantom Menace and Demolition back in the day; the last time I saw the latter, the disc was scratched to hell and back from sitting in a drawer for who knows how long.
That actor at 10:55 who played Ace is the late great Roy Conrad. Hes must known for voicing Ben in the LucasArts adventure game Full Throttle.

Apparently the Dreamcast version of Jedi Power Battles is the superior version, they fixed a lot of bugs that were in the PS1 version and gave Darth Maul dual blades when hes a playable character due to a glitch on PS1 version

Man, the phantom menace game is getting a lot of love these days. I had the ps1 version when I was a kid, I never got far in it but I thought it was cool. I never thought it would have such a resurgence in popularity.
For anyone who isn't sure, the timestamp for The Phantom Menace is supposed to start after 15:41, not 24:56 as the auto generated chapter thought so.
22:20 so that's where Anakin learned his YMT (Youngling Massacre Techniques) purely meant to be theoretical of course
Episode 1 and Jedi Power Battles was my childhood. I loved going around levels just killing everything, lol.
The platforming sections and speeder bike in Jedi Power Battles killed me way more than even the toughest enemies most of the time 😹 And Phantom Menace was just beautifully jank. Level geometry exploits let me skip sections of some levels and find whole unused bits of level, quite fascinating. Works in Theed and Coruscant if you jump at certain parts enough. I still have no idea how I found them. But yeah it's still great to this day just messing around in. Games like that are one of a kind.
I remember playing The Phantom Menace game on PC as a kid and man did I love it. Nostalgia's sure a big factor but I just find it so charming. Great video Junko!

Star Wars: Rebel Assault II was one of the games I played as a kid and is such a joy to revisit it after 17 years. I looks better than I remember actually.
I literally enjoy any videos you make, it dont matter if mippets or stsr ward i will gladly watched them as i finish my norning cereal
I'm sad that in TPM you didn't lead Darth Maul back to the village and have him kill a few NPCs, who then all immediately start shooting at YOU while Maul retreats and polygonally smirks at you from a safe distance. And speaking of Maul, once in JPB in the final batte, he glitched and fell into the hole, and never came back out, softlocking me. I fired some homing force projectiles down the pit to no avail and had to off myself and start the section over. That was fun.
This was like my favorite Yung Junko comfort food 👌😤 Great stuff! Also I'm glad I know about Demolition now; I'll be keeping an eye out for it at game shops from now on.

My grandmother had Phantom Menace and a slim ps1 but I don't believe she had a memory card, so I played the opening level of that game with my cousins countless times as a kid, was really keen for you to bring it up in this video and I'm very glad it was pretty much the bulk of it. Seeing the later parts of the game was very cool, also the outro was so funny, keep it up Junko mate
Junko, if you've never played *Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight,* I HIGHLY recommend it. It's level design is fantastic, and the live action FMV cutscenes are *waaay* better than Rebel Assault's.
It's only on PC though, and I *highly* recommend playing with the "Remastered 3.0 Mod" as it uses a source port that makes the Game actually run properly, as otherwise it can be an absolute nightmare to get this 25+ year old fossil running on properly on modern hardware. It also comes with updated models, and upscaled textures, but these can be disabled in the options if you want the authentic, hideous experience 👍
*Mysteries of the Sith* also... exists, and also has a "Remastered 3.0 Mod" but the level design sucks doo-doo, and the cutscenes aren't live action, so I would only recommend this if you *really love* Dark Forces 2.
phantom menace on PC is the first game I ever owned, it was super fun to go through it as 5 year old, thanks for making a video about it :)
I know the chances of you having it seen it are low, but your intro really brings me back to the Adam and Joe show (a British TV show from the 90s that was super ahead of its time) that had a bunch of sketches involving Star Wars figures.

I did not realize the PS1 version of Rebel Assault 2 had 3rd-person flight cameras. Not in the PC version. I guess because everyone was on joystick back then.
You never miss on these Star Wars videos and jokes YungJunko! I absolutely loved this video, and am really looking forward to the N64 one. Also, my memory is that Jedi Power Battles was a lot more fun (and tolerable) with a second player =)
I think "Check Yo Self" might have been a better reference point for a beat that repurposes another beat from the 'golden age', let alone from Ice Cube.

The only game I played on here was Jedi Power Battles. I actually remember it being one of the very first games I’ve ever had and I don’t think I ever made it past the first level…..
For what it's worth, I heard the Dreamcast version of Jedi Power Battles is considerably more polished and easier to platform around in. Can't say that with experience, it's on my bucket list since I like Star Wars games better than the movies, it's just what I've heard.
In any case, your videos are always a good time. I'm up for a series of Junko reviewing each 6th gen Star Wars game.

-I have always loved the episode 1 game. It was the first time I ever felt like I was able to walk through Star Wars settings and live in em a little, back in the pre-KotOR games. Love the RPG elements it has. Still a fun time! I'm also glad the code I memorized 25 years ago still works on the rerelease this year. Hahaha

Even though I'm like 99% sure you're younger than me. Your videos and channels give me a huge amount of nostalgia.
You can put darth maul in the hole with mace windu. When he jumps over the hole you do his lightsaber throw and maul will fall in the hole. The game will soft lock however and you’ll have to do the entire level again as I learned much to my chagrin.

The craziest thing about the Phantom Menace game is not just killing kids, but they scream when you do. Imagine when they told the voice actors to do child screams in case the player decided to kill younglings.

I recommend playing Phantom Menace on PC, in all that hardware accelerated glory. Also, you have a cheatcode to play as Captain Panaka, the man himself.
