Force unleashed on psp is hands down the best version, regardless of the graphics. The historical missions and order 66 mode really take the cake
Agreed! I just recently beat the Order 66 mode and now have everything unlocked, which feels great! That’s why I was excited when I heard that version was going to be released on the Switch this year.

most people dont realize that you can go from land to space battles in a ship in elite squadron. Which is the coolest shit ever.
In Elite squadron I would always start on the ground battle then to give support to my team I would take a ship go into space and use my cruisers orbital cannons to provide cover and support for the troops below. It was awesome.

I remember Elite Squadron's story blew my mind back in the day, being this microcosm of the series' themes and spanning so many years wasn't the sort of thing I expected from another Battlefront kind of game
Star wars lethal alliance was actually one of my first two games on psp! I was 10. My dad was overseas in Iraq with the army and he bought a psp for himself. After it sat in his trunk for 6 months (never even opened the box!) he gave it to me for my 11th birthday when he was back home on leave. He then took me to a store and said I could pick out any two games. I picked lethal alliance, he picked (for me) brothers in arms: D-day. I played the HECK out of both of them and loved them so freaking much... I should give my dad a call, it's been a while...

Elite Squadron and Force Unleashed on PSP were my childhood. They are what made me a Star Wars fan. I was telling their stories to my friends thinking they are canon and important characters. I loved the X2 and X1's story, the Luke on the final scene etc. Also the story of Starkiller was great too. This was a great nostalgia trip for me I played all these games on the video.
I loved renegade squadron as a kid.
Loved being able to customise so much, and the cool maps. Great memories :)
It’s unbelievable that Rogue Squadron has more content than a lot of games released today.
I personally thought renegade squadron was SOOOO fun. It was basically bf3 for kid me. The cool maps and customization was dope and playing multiplayer was a blast seeing the different setups and strategy everyone used.

there was a fun glitch where you could run everything without restrictions, when making a loadout then switching the wifi on the PSP, next time you went to multiplayer you had that loadout
@@skeven0 I loved that exploit, always ruined my siblings fun being able to capture their command post in seconds then jetpacking away.
Renegade squadron was so great. I always played it, I miss it :( I like it so much, i like it more than the 2 og battlefronts

I loved playing through Renegade and Elite Squadron as a kid. Such a damn shame they aren’t as appreciated now. I also recently played through The Force Unleashed on the PSP and I wish I played that as a kid and not the PS2 version.

When I would go to school in middle school I would always bring my psp and just play the force unleashed in the back.Loved the survival mode they had on it.

Force unleashed and battlefront 2 were two of my favorite games as a kid. They are Star Wars to me more than anything
10:10 It also has stations you can fight on with Command Posts to capture and B-Wings and TIE Defenders, things you'd see in custom maps for BFII.

Your videos hit harder than top shelf bud. I agree whole heartedly with every assessment you made here. And now not only do I mourn the loss of Battlefront III like everyone else and their mother has for damn near two decades, I also feel the holes in my heart of a proper PSP port for ROTS & LEGO Star Wars
The DS version of Elite Squadron definitely did the story more justice even if it still had a fanfiction-y charm. Its a shame BF3 has gotten canned so many times. We're bound for a third reboot before a proper third entry at this rate.
Elite squadron is an underrated masterpiece, if a psp had the power to do all that space/world transition imagine that on a ps5

My favourite thing about Elite Squadron was the seamless transition between space and ground combat you had. Like, fight your way through tie fighters, head toward the death star landing bay, loading screen, YOU ARE IN THE DEATH STAR. Mindblowing, I tell you.

The funny thing about Elite Squadron was the DS versions story was much more in depth.
You didn’t mention that Renegade Squadron was also included with the PSP slim that I had. It was white and had a darth vader graphic on the back. I loved that thing.
And if you preordered the game, you got a exclusive Han in carbonate PSP carry case. I still have and use it while caring my Vita all these years later.
The editing and the voice-acting in this video are fantastic. xD I was in stitches the whole time.

I played forced unleash and the battlefront squadrons a decent amount. Elite just never sat with me and your video summed up what I remembered.

the DS version of Force Unleashed was super cool, I remember you could pull off all types of moves by combining the different powers on the touch screen and those boss battle were sick. haven’t see it in years tho so I hope my shades aren’t tinted lol

Been enjoying binging your vids since CZcams recommended one to me (also made me realize you did the Star Wars VHS retrospective I commented on a while ago😅). God I always wanted Force Unleashed for PSP solely for those historic missions, instead I was stuck with the vanilla PS2 and multiplayer for Wii for so many years. Gotta see if I could get my psp restored and find those games I was missing (except for Republic Heroes, kinda reminds why I was turned off from season 1 of Clone Wars and never gave it a chance until I heard it got better later on)

Quick Note on Renegade Squadron and Elite both were made on Rebellion’s in-house Asura Engine and not the Zero Engine (BF1 and 2) so things were built from scratch. Hence some of the animation changes etc.

Man Elite Squadron was fun. Had made friends with a couple people who shared a website that had modded save games where you could literally have any weapon you wanted. Like X2’s Clone Hero Blaster, a Lightsaber, one of the Vehicles laser turret, force powers and many more I cannot remember as a regular soldier. It was such a fun time.

I remember owning Battlefront 2 and the first Lego Star Wars game on the PSP and being blown away at the concept of having these on the go. Always wanted Lethal Alliance and Elite/Renegade Squadron but for one reason or another, not actually getting them. Great retrospective, you genuinely had me laughing out loud throughout the video! Absolutely loved Force Unleashed and Elite Squadron on the DS, until I lost my Elite Squadron cartridge years and years ago. Wish I could play it again, I miss that game.
I miss my PSP. The Force Unleashed and Pursuit Force were some of my favorites. And I always wanted to play Lethal Alliance so I need to get on that.

Renegade Squadron was one of my first online multiplayer games, the classe/loadout system was fun, even if you could cheese it by making a OP loadout(skipping the restrictions) and turning the wifi off/psp off,

I used to play Elite Squadron a TON as a kid. The multiplayer was honestly amazing. I don't think I ever touched the story because none of what you showed here looked familiar at all lmao

Dude I could’ve sworn The Complete saga for PSP existed, when I was little I was looking for it and I think some game store had it with a little backpack to have the game in travel with the console, now you just made me question I’d it was a dream or me hallucinating it when Ir instead was the PS3 version

Renegade squadron is why I'm a star wars fan. I got the psp bundle for Christmas and after that I got hooked to the saga.
You're bringing back some good memories. I literally bought the special edition white Darth Vader PSP just so I can play Star wars battlefront renegade squadron I saved up all my money and bought it and it was literally the only UMD game I ever purchased for the PSP and it was completely worth it. I just wish we got a real battlefront 3 😭😭😭
7:25 it also brings in weapons and vehicles from other games like the Carbonite Throwers from Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith and KotOR2, and that tank you just blew up is the rebel T-4b tank from Empire at War! And either Renegade or Elite is the first game to show the Vindicator Cruiser the ship that the Interdictor Cruisers were originally made from.
