- Hey gang! Today we try a beer from the Abita Brewing Company located in Abita Springs, LA. This is their Turbodog which is an english brown ale and comes in at 5.6% abv. The description is as follows:
Inside every dog, there’s a Turbodog® ready to break free. This brown ale has a rich, dark color and body with a sweet chocolate, toffee-like flavor. Turbodog® is powered by
pale, caramel and chocolate malts and Willamette hops for runaway good times.

Ummm, the diet candy bars are called fun size ;) Brown ales are awesome, and it makes me realize I don't drink them enough. There are so many beer styles I love and don't drink. Make it make sense!
And speaking of fun size, those things are ridiculous. What's fun about less candy!?

We get a lot of Abita down here. Turbodog is one of the few that i actually like. (Their doppelbock - Andygator - is also worth the purchase, and not just for the name.) I dunno, maybe it’s the spring water that doesn’t do it for me with the majority of their lagers. Their darker ales come out better.
Will have to keep an eye out for that doppelbock. Seems like our distribution are the flagships. Cheers mates 🍻
