What a great looking car, in and out. Upgraded performance engine and suspension. The letter U in the vin designates this car was born with a 455 4bbl engine.
EXTERIOR: I love the notchback roofline which was not available on a 442. This car has a genuine ram air hood with metal structure. Also has sport mirrors. The body is arrow straight. The color is amazing. The metal flake is laid out evenly, has a clear coat finish that is polished smooth and glossy. The W-30 stripes are painted and smooth to the touch. Standing next to the car, the paint is beautiful although there are some flaws. Jambs are painted real nice. New weatherstrips and window seals. The chrome is all bright. Stainless trim is straight and polished. It has a brand new set of 15 inch SS-1 wheels with BFGoodrich tires. A bit bigger in back for a tough look. In back it has the 442 bumper with notched exhaust openings. New taillights, reverse light lenses and rubber grommets. In front it has 442 grills, the bezels are excellent. New windshield.
INTERIOR: Excellent condition inside this car. Very tastefully done custom upholstered seats, headrests and door panels with blue stitching. No wrinkles, it all fits like a new car. Cushions are new. Has custom cloth headliner and visors. Rear deck is upholstered. The plastic seat trim is excellent. The dash area looks new, all the chrome bezels, knobs,vents and trim sparkles. Dash pad is mint, the metal is smooth gloss black. Has new custom gauges. There is a hidden stereo in the glovebox with a remote. It has molded kick panel speakers, 6x9 speakers in back, 2 amps and subwoofer in the trunk. Trim on the center console and the liner inside is new. Interior lights work. New handles, cranks, mirror. Has all of it's seatbelts. New carpet and matching mats.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Performance built 455 dyno tuned at 461 hp. Has aluminum Edelbrock heads and intake, MSD ignition system, a set of coated headers, new carb with electric choke. There is a remote oil filter. Braided fuel and oil lines with custom fittings. The motor is painted the correct blue, has aluminum pulleys. New radiator and dual electric fans. New wiper motor. It features air conditioning, power steering and power brakes.

My girlfriend in high school had a 69 Cutlass...crazy girl, pretty quick car for the 350 it had in it...though it was the 'Ultra High Compression' 4-bbl...and quite rare, as it had one of the last 'factory installed' 2-speed automatics (Turbo-Hydramatic 250), which many claim never came behind the 300+ hp GM cars (it did...my uncle had a 1967 Chevelle SS with a 396 350-hp with it, and he bought it new).
Of course, my girlfriend and I had a falling out, and a 'new girlfriend' came along...her dentist-dad had bought her a NEW 1970 Buick GS 455 Stage 1...she was even more fun to be around!
I have a 2 tone black and red with a built 455. It's done up as a 442 tribute. There is no mistaking the sound of a 455 olds.
God that's beautiful.....would have loved to own this.

Thats a stunner, muscle car artwork, and not even a 442, but a Cutlass, I had a 77 Cutlass Supreme, but it was a 350ci stock, Still they were really nice rides
Love the Cutlass esp from that generation. This one is probably one of my faves. Would love to own a nice Supreme someday.

I guess ill state the obvious.. all 72s have black headlight bezels. These bezels are from either a 71 or even a 70 as those 2 years used chrome headlight bezels. The headlight bezels are infact the only visual giveaway that separates a 71 from a 72 and they got it wrong.
