Easy Homemade Strawberry Ice Cream Recipe (Only 3-Ingredients)

Follow this easy recipe to learn how to make homemade strawberry ice cream. This homemade strawberry ice cream is so creamy and delicious. Ingredients:
2 cups (480ml) heavy cream, cold
1 can (14oz/400g) Sweetened condensed milk
12oz (340g) Strawberries, fresh or frozen
1 teaspoon Pink gel food coloring (optional)
4-5 Chopped strawberry (optional)
Directions:
1. Place strawberries in a blender or a food processor and blend until smooth.
2. Place cold heavy cream in a large bowl, whip to stiff peaks.
3. Add, sweetened condensed milk, strawberry puree, food coloring and beat on low speed until incorporated.
4. Chop 4-5 strawberries add to ice cream batter, fold until combined. this stage is optional.
5. Transfer into a container/dish, freeze for least 6 hours.
Notes:
• If you are using frozen, thaw the strawberries for about 1 hour minutes before blending.

I just made this 10 minutes ago and it's in the freezer now. My only mention is that it takes a while to get to stiff peaks if you've never done this before. I was wondering if I was doing something wrong before it really thickened up. Amazing how easy it really is though! I'll definitely be trying this in different flavors.

I did the vanilla version yesterday and didn't realize how long it took but eventually it did stiffen up, that was a bit of surprise to me as well.

Do you use the food dye? Personally I associate brightly colored ice cream with low-quality. This for example-strawberry ice cream is most appetizing when it’s almost pale white, not hot pink. Same with mint chip ice cream; deep teal screams “cheap.” Obviously you can put food colorings in good products as well, but I’d skip it because it’s just not appealing.

@@matt2522 Mint chip is my favorite to make and I do use coloring. I agree that the lighter color is much more appetizing. I aim for a very pale mint color, similar to the famous mint pick guards that Fender has used forever. I go heavier on the mint extract and lighter on the color than most commercial versions. That's the best part of making it yourself!
