interesting race but it was apples and oranges I'm afraid. You're racing a sports car vs a luxery sports coupe with rear seats that's bigger and much heavier. The AWD system and many other luxury components add weight. I've seen properly tune RS' with bigger turbos, transmission coolers, bigger intakes and better radiators that have over 650 HP that will blow that little Z out of the water. Mind you there's nothing stopping people with the Z to do the same thing....without voiding the warranty. If that track had a bit of moisture on there your Z would be toast. Nice video though and as usual, I enjoy watching your races.
hang on, how are they listed at the same power when the Q60s has mods? The intake and exhaust with even the most conservative of tunes would be and extra 20-25 horsepower, surely?
Intake provides no power gains, only installed it for intake noises to make the drive more fun to listen to. No tune. The AAM LDP and CBE does increase HP, but its marginal at best. The XE doesn't add power, merely keeps things running cool.
Surprised that Infinity doesn't have a luxury super car like the NSX... interesting race. The Z probably has a higher rpm range which gave it the advantage on the roll race.
There's no such thing as a RWD Q50/60RS in Canada so unless you want to bring one from USA here to make a fair race, they have to take whatever cars that exists where they live 🤷♂️
Great video. Thanks for bringing us such great content. However, it just needs to be said that the new Z is just pathetic because it just spins too much. That car is SO MUCH lighter and yet it just can’t do anything from a dig at all. It makes a good drifting car but not much else from a dig.
You can judge from the results. For Standing starts, it is utmost importance for the torque be delivered to the tarmac effectively. However, in comparison, tyre traction is less significant for rolling start, therefore Z is able to beats Q. I was reading the comments and I was thinking the same thing.
So glad I got the Q over the Z!!
I would rather take the q60s
Was a little surprised the 500 pound offset didn't seem to make a difference from 0. All wheels matter
We all can agree. When you buy the new Z, first thing is Tire’s you must get better tire’s. Then second is suspension. Cause with better tire’s the Z is definitely a scary car off the dig
need more m340i content, especially tuned ever so slightly
M240i/ 340i content yes please 🙏!
OK for anyone who drives Infiniti you knew it would lose the roll why? Because Infiniti drivers no Infinitis have a slight lag when you mash the gas after being at an consistent speed. Now had he let go and then mashed the gas it would've been closer. Basically treat it like a manual. I my self am an Infiniti owner. I figured this out from test driving multiple models. Never the less I love Infiniti they get moving once they get going for a luxury car
And I was speaking from automatic roll racing. My point was proving when he did it in manual mode
I mean we all knew it would loose the roll because they both have the same engine and the Z weighs 500lbs less…
The faster shifting transmission and slightly more responsive turbo don’t hurt but they are just a small part of the story.
Infiniti and Nissan is slacking with transmissions
A Q60 with the Z's 6 speed would be legendary.
dude in the Q60 on the manual rolls is shifting super early why?
Keenly interested in this. I've done enough of these that if it over revs it bogs down and the car will shift automatically. Are you expecting a wildly different result. Gimme the break down of perfect rpm shift points so I can drag as much power out of this thing.
Because the transmission has a bit of delay between shifts so you need to do it earlier to shift on time. It's annoying at first but not thay big of a deal
@@gotworcoh must just be a getting use to thing, cuz i shift my q50 right before redline and its just fine
@@jimwallace4579tbh the last roll would of been much closer if the Q60 was being shifted at redline, but either way Z should still be faster because its lighter and better trans🤷🏽♂️
Dude in the q60 kept shifting early Asf obviously the Z will be faster cause it’s lighter but dude In the q needs to learn when to actually shift plus this race would have been better if it was a rwd q50 which is just over 3700
He can't, the Q engine will bog down if he red lines it. Basically forces you to upshift as it hits red line.
@@Reobtained you can hear it big down every shift due to short shifting and not bringing it to redline...not rev limiter, but redline.
Comparing a Awd Vr30 vs rwd is so weird. The curb weight difference matters
The Infiniti driver literally let you win, he don’t know how to drive and he was early shifting
😁 love my Q but that Z in that color looks great. im just happy they aint no E b.s n went vr in the z
REVENGE!! 😂😂😅!! Love this 😂
If the transmission was updated on Q it would be a beast. I want to buy a 2020 Q60rs but may just go 440i M instead with a stage1 if anything
more gears doesnt mean more faster. you really have no idea what youre talking about.
the 7AT in the Q50/60 isnt significantly stronger than the turd thats in the older Zs and ghetto fabulous G35/37 cars. in fact, those kids swap out their transmissions for the Q50/50 versions because theyre beefed up.
@@OxBlitzkriegxO you do realise updating transmission doesn't mean adding more gears right. I had g35 and q50, they have not ideal transmissions.
@@Landon1688 whats not ideal about the 7AT in the Q50? please tell me, as my Q50 seems to shift exactly as fast and as hard as it needs to. its this ignorant ass thinking that perpetuates stereotypes that simply dont exist.
the problem is that there are a lot of people driving around in the ghetto fabulous G35/37s from a long time and who think the transmission sucks, because it sort of did. the torque converter tended to fall part and the valvebody died early.
the Q50 7AT doesnt have any of those problerms. zip, zilch. it has a larger, thicker converter and a different valvebody along with extra clutches that arent there in the cars that poors drive. shift times are significantly faster than people think as long as youre not in standard mode.
a lot of Q50/60 owners get in to the platform as cheap as possible, so they get all the base model turds but trash suspension, little brakes, and no way to adjust the suspension. the sport and red sport are WORLDS above the base model sh*t boxes.
im not here to tell you the 7AT is the best transmission ever, thats silly. im saying that its FAR better than what the reddit trash and ghetto fabulous street takeover garbage people lead you to believe. they know nothing except how to run their mouth and run in to curbs. look on tiktok for proof
stupid tires on a 400hp car
The driver of the Q60 loves the gear before he does not take full torque, and his shifts are very clear, which made the Z excel in the end
Nissan Z and BMW m240i in Canada cost the exact same. Used to have a new 370z. But bmw is seen in my near future, c43amg coupe is just too expensive. Lexus coupe would have been nice but it's too expensive and slow as hell
I finally got to sit in a 2024 Z and it was very nice, but I wouldn't get one because there's better choices out there for the price.
Great Q60s
Ill take the awd. Probably has a better quarter mile time
WOW, literally AWD vs RWD & Automatic vs Manual. This was so close, even though both are brother cars. IMO, the Q60 is closer to being a "mini GT-R" because it is AWD.
Hey Sam, can you advise where this track is located at? Is this a private track?
guy in the q50 was granny shifting 🙃
Put Michelin sport 4s tires on the z would have launched much better
missing AWD, that is the q60's advantage on a dig...
@@tomr3319 I have a q60 redsport rwd with ps4s tires and I beat my friends q50 awd jb4 in a dig and roll race
@@iwatchfamilyguy Cool, is your our friend's AWD a red sport or regular 300HP 3.0 TT?
@@tomr3319 it’s the silver sport with 300 hp 3.0t but he has jb4 and was on map 3
Q60 has night and dat better looks exterior and interior hands down. Just put the 9speed auto in the Q60!
The Z sounds great 👍🏾
"The car has an exhaust. But it has an intake as well"
Me: 🤦♂️🤦♂️
9 speed Transmission swap for the Q60 hmm. There's a Z Nismo coming soon tho
The transmission in the INFINITI was its downfall. It was positively awful. Even the Kia Stinger has a better transmission than the INFINITI.
JATCO 7at very strong, kia stinger transmission can't withstand such heavy loads as in infiniti. after tune, this trans shifting like a DCT
I honestly really like the 7 speed, very responsive and quick, pretty imperceptible shifts too. The bad part is that the gears are so extremely long 3-5
@@UNIQUEMEN100 just wait until the actual transmission tune becomes available. After being tuned, it’s a hell of a lot better in terms of shifting & response, but there is a lot more to be had w/ a TCM tune!
@@bpearr8266 true, gotta let them rev out till redline to keep the next gear in the powerband. That’s usually the trick w/ this transmission, but really wish we had a transmission tune available now. It’s coming though, thankfully!
@@UNIQUEMEN100 the jatco in the VR30 is stronger than the one in the 3.7's, but it's not stronger than the Genesis/Kia version (maybe similar); it does however has clunkier shifts (I've owned both)
Weird how Nissan used 2 different autos. Gearing is playing a big part here.
interesting race but it was apples and oranges I'm afraid.
Comparing apples to oranges is fun. It's the kind of matchups that happens at the drags, track or auto-x course.
Q60 needs transmission swap support
Hopefully TCM Tune coming soon!
Maybe the Z will win against a Scion TC! Maybe though.........
hang on, how are they listed at the same power when the Q60s has mods? The intake and exhaust with even the most conservative of tunes would be and extra 20-25 horsepower, surely?
Intake provides no power gains, only installed it for intake noises to make the drive more fun to listen to. No tune. The AAM LDP and CBE does increase HP, but its marginal at best. The XE doesn't add power, merely keeps things running cool.
Surprised that Infinity doesn't have a luxury super car like the NSX... interesting race. The Z probably has a higher rpm range which gave it the advantage on the roll race.
I'll take the red sport!
Been waiting for this one🔥
that’s not fair the q was AWD
There's no such thing as a RWD Q50/60RS in Canada so unless you want to bring one from USA here to make a fair race, they have to take whatever cars that exists where they live 🤷♂️
I feel like Nissan really dropped the ball on the new Z. Sub par performance when in the price point there are so much better cars.
Style over performance. If i get beat by a stick of butter so be it. At least the eyes were on me! Z stlye for the win!
Q looks way better though...
Owner of the Q said he had boltons (heat exchanger, intake, Downpipes)
I love the Infinitis... Loved my G37x. I sold Nissans... Never sold a 370z...pretty but low sales volume.
Perfect matchup
Exterior: Q60
Interior: Z
This Z is disappointing. I hope they come out with a 500 hp Nismo
Downpipe and tune
@@DigitalRecollections yes. That will do it. But I worried about insurance 🙂
Great video. Thanks for bringing us such great content. However, it just needs to be said that the new Z is just pathetic because it just spins too much. That car is SO MUCH lighter and yet it just can’t do anything from a dig at all. It makes a good drifting car but not much else from a dig.
Runs 12.3@117 from a dig
10.50s@128 fbo e85
9.80s@135 with drop ins
You have no clue lol
Nothing a lil suspension mods can't fix 😁
please ive been asking for a while can you guys put the redsport up against a kia stinger
I was expecting the Z to at least hook, this sucks. was supposed to take the Vr30 to the next level
well AWD is hard to compete with.
It’s cuz he can’t drive😭
You can judge from the results. For Standing starts, it is utmost importance for the torque be delivered to the tarmac effectively. However, in comparison, tyre traction is less significant for rolling start, therefore Z is able to beats Q.
The author rightly pointed out, AWD definitely played important role and the mitigation is better tyres.
Nice race but not what people want to see , people want to see the Z vs the M340 b58 engine. The rest is all secondary
Z gonna lose that race everytime lol everyone knows this
I haven’t seen the new Z beat anything yet, on anybody’s channel🤦🏾♂️
I think that one came down to the weight
Woot woot lets gooo Nissan 😅 even though the infinity was kicking ass at first 😅they are both still very awesome and very beautiful cars. 😍😍😍😍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Wish the q60 was completely stock
Gains on a turbo car for those mods are quite high. Therefor this race is void without the same mods on the Z
Hi mate can you do a video on the Mercedes w204 2.1L twin turbo diesel 2014 model please 🙏
The Z was the biggest let down in sports car history
Period
why didnt they go manual on the Q60?
Infiniti has larger exhaust tips and is therefore the clear winner.
Why not have a g timer so we can compare thus to dealer claims. 0-60,60-130 etc
