I tried the direct to computer connection today, and easel would not go green. This was using the stock usb A to C cable that came with the 2022 unit I just got. The auto vacuum mod works great, albeit a little hard to get the relay nowadays. Thank you.

Will the second mod affect the z-probe functionality? The reason I ask is you are no longer connected to the controller, right.

Great question Jory! The machine interface box's buttons and probe port are connected to the controller via the RJ45 cable. The USB C ports on the machine interface box are only pig-tailed (pass-through) from the front to the back, they do not control or provide any connectivity inside the machine interface box itself. So bypassing the USB C port on the machine interface box has no effect on the Z-probe functionality.

For the trigger connections, gauge size is not critical. It's a low voltage on/off used only to trigger the high power relay in the switch itself. You could use something like a pair of wires from a CAT5 cable (~22 gauge) to 16 gauge that I used. Mine was a bit overkill, but it was what I had handy. Hope this helps!
