Not terribly exciting, there was high clouds so nothing clear. You can definitely see the sun dimming around 3:07pm, when the eclipse was at its peak here in Florida. Footage taken on UI AI 360 camera.
Solar Panel Washing with Water-Fed Brush
zhlédnutí 30Před 4 měsíci
I clean my panels twice a year with a water-fed brush purchased from Amazon, along with an in-line filter to reduce streaks. Since I have roof cameras to track panel shading, I thought I'd share what I do and what I have learned. Overall, it takes about 45 minutes from setup to clean up.
Jet Cyclonic Chip Separator - Install (timelapse)

I saw this on sale at Woodcraft for $30, my local store was lucky enough to have one. I installed it into an existing Husky trash can that had a Peachtree separator on it already. This shows the install, and points out the mistakes I made. Just step outside and breathe it in :)
all I see is an ocean of chemtrails from airplanes… people need to wake up
I must have been in the flight path of our city airport that day, and I'm also near a military airbase. Lots of airplanes and helicopters.
Thank you for recording and posting this valuable educational video.
Thank you! I replumbed everything last month, be sure to check out the updated video where I changed to pex and added some additional items.
It’s worth mentioning that the foot of the clamp is 1-3/4” diameter. You need to choose a slightly thinner backer board for the clamp’s foot to fully rest on the work piece.
Good review. Is the sled still working good. Looking to purchase one. Thanks, Jake
First one to ask when the water will be back on, that's why you installed a by pass
Hah, yes! Beyond bypassing when I change filters, I also use the by-pass twice a year, pass the filters for a week to 'chlorinate' the house pipes. On another note, I am planning a replumb of the filters soon, switching to pex. I also plan to put a faucet on the exit side of the filter box for priming new filters (get rid of the charcoal dust easier). When I do this, I'll try to get more in-depth of what I do, rather than a timelapse.
@@mattmake1854 @mattmake1854 I want to repipe my house with PEX. My hot water takes a long time to heat up on my faucets. I also need to install this same water filtration system. I like how you installed the sediment filter before the filters.
@@pwnagejetsonjetson4118, that's my plan also. We had our bathroom redone recently, I had them change all the plumbing to pex, at least up into the attic. As we redo each room with plumbing, that will be the plan. Hoping to install a pex manifold also, so I can pinpoint turning off water to specific rooms as needed. As far as the sediment filter, it rarely clogs for me, most likely because I am on city water. Would be far more helpful if I was on well water. Still nice to have a flushable filter as first as opposed to clogging my $$ filters.
Awesomeness! Building mine Soon. Thanks for the great post on the UI community! I’ll probably use PVC board for my camera base.

I suppose you could cut the thread down on the handle.
Looks like it worked well in the end but I would have to contact Rockler about that handle for sure
Saved my life with the comment about installing the gauges after reversing the flow, i had no idea i tightened one too much and had a 0 psi reading. As soon as i backed it off a little the pressure came right up
Sir, thank You for taking the time to do this video. I have a question about the flow of water with your Express Whole House Water System. Looking at their site, it looks like their systems have the direction of the inlet water flows from right to left, but your system's flow goes left to right. Did you order it that way from Express Water or did You reverse it and how hard was that to do? Many thanks for your time and GREAT job on the video, PLEASE stay healthy and safe out there!
Thank you for the kind words Nitro Rich! For the flow direction, I requested Express Water to change it prior to shipping. However, since I ordered mine it looks like they have provided instructions in the install guide (see page 8) for converting flow direction. If I were to do it again, I'd still request they change it at the factory. Hope this helps! cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0025/0963/5637/files/Whole_House_3_Stage_Installation_Manual.pdf?v=1613678262
I watched your video when it first came out and remember thinking you got your bolts mixed up because I didn't have any problem putting mine together.
My handle did the same thing, lock up. So I had to tap the threads to get it to seat. Love this sled for making raised panel doors. Thanks for the video.
I tried the direct to computer connection today, and easel would not go green. This was using the stock usb A to C cable that came with the 2022 unit I just got. The auto vacuum mod works great, albeit a little hard to get the relay nowadays. Thank you.
what gauge wire? thanks
For the trigger connections, gauge size is not critical. It's a low voltage on/off used only to trigger the high power relay in the switch itself. You could use something like a pair of wires from a CAT5 cable (~22 gauge) to 16 gauge that I used. Mine was a bit overkill, but it was what I had handy. Hope this helps!
What's the point of the sacrificial board?
The sacrificial board helps prevent blowout from the exiting end of the router cuts. Without it, you get a good amount of splinter pieces that would be pulled out as the router bit exits the wood. Having your primary wood piece pressed against another board reduces the splintering significantly. Hope this helps answer your question!
@@mattmake1854 I understand that part but the board on this sled is attached so after one cut it’s really not doing anything. I removed it and got the same exact results. I’ve always used a backup board but this one on the sled doesn’t seem to be doing anything from what I’ve seen. Thanks for your reply.
Are you sure there were not washers that went on that handle?
The instructions didn't call for it, and there wasn't any included in the packaging. Could be there is an updated version of the instructions though that includes this step, or perhaps I got a blem unit. It works fine with the washers I had handy, so I haven't really pursued it with Rockler.
@@mattmake1854 I bought one shortly after watching the video. You had some messed up threads for sure. Mine went together fine. Bummer, but glad it worked out for you.
Wow. You have no idea what you're doing.
Will the second mod affect the z-probe functionality? The reason I ask is you are no longer connected to the controller, right.
Great question Jory! The machine interface box's buttons and probe port are connected to the controller via the RJ45 cable. The USB C ports on the machine interface box are only pig-tailed (pass-through) from the front to the back, they do not control or provide any connectivity inside the machine interface box itself. So bypassing the USB C port on the machine interface box has no effect on the Z-probe functionality.
It looked like there was smoke from that first deep pass. Try multiple passes going deeper each time. It will prevent you from: burning your wood; overheating your bit; building burnt resin on your bit; and breathing in noxious fumes. Your cheap Amazon bits will appreciate being cleaned with denatured alcohol. Even a little burnt wood resin is noticeable.
That is good advice! I'll try cleaning them with denatured alcohol. Greatly appreciated!
So, doesn't the plastic shield need to be exactly square with the the wood hold block also? Perfectly parallel with the edge of the base?
😁
The knob on top of the pressure foot of the clamp will never adjust clamping pressure as the instructions suggest. Position of the bottom nut of the pressure foot screw must be adjusted to change the pressure.
You learned something we all (most) learn. Don't force things. Thanks for the very informative video. Hope you contacted Rockler.
Must have been a bad thread cut inside the handle, since you said the hole was deep enough. At $60, you shouldn't have had to deal with a shop fix using washers.
He used the wrong bolts in the wrong places. There are 3 different length of those bolts and he used the wrong length ones in the wrong spots. It isn't rocket science.
@@NBGTFO How do you know?
My bolts were all proper length. I had no issue with handles
Thank you for the video 👍 You must be cranking out some cabinets with 2 Foremans. I just got one recently and am excited to put it to use.
There is a story behind why I have two, but that's for another day or video. I've got one with the normal drill, the other with large (or occasional switch with micro). I use them quite often, yes! Great tools for my shop.
Does your total cost to install include the price of the water filters?
Yes, because one set of filters was included with the system. At this point, I've replaced the originals once at a cost of about $80. If you watch, they have occasional sales on replacement filters and I picked up a few sets when they were. Hope this helps!
@@mattmake1854 It does thanks! I should have been more clear in my question though. I already bought both filter systems (spin down and 3 stage) and am trying to decide whether or not to install it myself and was comparing install cost. Thanks again for the quick response and great video
what are the gauges for? should they read zero all the time ???? and when it raises that means filters need to be changed?
The gauges measure pressure after each filter. They are typically between 4 and 5 (in my case). When they get above 5, it means it's getting to be time to change the filters.
Wow, tried sereval methods without succes. Figured I would give this one a try, on a count of it being a three minute video. Works like a charm! Thanks.
Hi, How many microns is your pre-filter? thanks.
It's the standard Express Water filter, 5 microns. Each of the three cartridges are 5 microns according to their spec page: www.expresswater.com/products/standard-replacement-set
What did the water look like going in vs going out of the system?
It's Florida city water, so *mostly* clean. My main purpose was to remove chlorine and try to make the water taste a bit better. It definitely removes the chlorine, but I still needed a multi-stage RO under the sink to get better tasting water.
Don't plumb a filter system with cpvc, or any drinking water with that substance. Might as well not have a filter if you drinking from that pipe post filter. Copper.
William Ball new builds use cpvc to plumb so putting copper in to go back into cpvc is not going to make that big of a difference. In older homes pre-2010 sure copper would be the way to go.
@@JScott30349 I've seen more go PEX than CPVC even back when your comment was posted two years ago.
@@nova31337 I wish they would have used PEX in my home I had built during the pandemic.
@@JScott30349 that's crazy. I'm guessing there was a shortage of materials at the time?
I'm slowly converting my house to PEX, but it's not a simple task. As we remodel each plumbing spot, I'm converting. Our house was originally copper through the concrete slab, but almost every house in my neighborhood has been converted due to slab leaks. A prior owner replumbed the whole house through the attic using CPVC, which I guess was fine at the time. At some point I'll replumb the water filter as well. Our drinking water is filtered RO at the sink, so not too concerned with plastic issues.
I want to install one but idk where my main water pipes are located...
