I recently realized that your downhinge move is exactly what the tour striker plane mate is trying to get the user to feel, a proper shallowing with the wrists while keeping the hands back and then rotating. You are right on. Love your stuff. Really helps.

Monte Scheinblum calls it cast to 8 o’clock. This move has completely changed my swing for the better

Getting into an ulnar deviation position at impact was a game changer for my golf game. I played decent golf but always struggled with throwing my angles late and nothing seemed to work to fix it, turns out the answer was that my wrist conditions at impact were wrong and the downhinge is a great way to communicate that.

Can honestly say that, your downhinge instruction along with getting sequencing correct has change my golf game over the last year. I’m a leftie who struggled massively with an early extension and big miss left. It’s taken a lot of practise and probably best part of half a year to start seeing real results BUT all that seems to be a thing of the past. The left side of the course is now no longer my enemy. I’m now able to set up down the left and play a slight draw, worst case the ball stays straight and I play from the rough. No 3’s from the tee, in my last 3 rounds 😁. Real progress. Cheers Larry 👍🏻

Im so glad that this video came out because I had the exact same questions. Im excited to practice this a little more before the season starts. Thanks!

Haven't mastered the downhinge yet, but this is super important and therefore thankful that you make a video about it Larry.
The downhinge was bugging me for a while, but now I understand the concept of it - reason is that people have a misconception about "the lag". It is actually the angle people observe, e.g. PGA players, it's the camera angle that makes "the lag" looking like a golfer would hold that hinge, but in reality the hinge is not that extreme.
That is why Larrys downhinge concept is gold, because you really get that power and most-preferred shaft lean!!
I for myself, I found out that the downhinge feels a lot more natural when gripping stronger (seeing more knuckles of my lead hand).
    Nice vid as always!

Yep. Sergio is the best example of that. What people see on camera as extreme lag is mostly just a big shallowing move that Sergio has.

Daniel Berger seems to have a down hinge look at top of backswing. Scott Pearcy looks like you can almost see the move happen exaggerated in transition.

The speed I get from down-hinging is big time. Not just a little bit extra speed but a lot.
I’m still trying to marry that up sequence wise with rotation. At P6 my hands aren’t completely over my trail leg.

Just the swing thought of leaving your hands up or behind downhinge seems to take care of itself.

Larry, what role do the wrists play? Should they be a focus point or should they swing through the ball naturally following the motions of the hips-upper body-arms-wrists sequence with no specific or special interest on the wrists? Thank you.

Thanks Larry! Question for you, what are your thoughts on Hackmotion device? Or the player vs pro models? I'm a lefty who golfs righty and always struggle with understand the right wrist and hand movements in the golfswing as the nature of "throwing" isn't instinctive to my right hand. So was looking at something like hackmotion to help but concerned the affordable players version doesn't give all the data I would want/need to understand it all.

I don't have much experience on hackmotion so can't answer that question =)
