    Hi Mrs. Julie.
    I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your videos. I took the class in 2012. I never took the state exam because I went on to be a medical assistant. I decided to go back for my RN and needed to take the state exam. Last year they gave us a waiver because of COVID and has to have it done by Sept 1st of this year to be able to enter my second year of nursing school. I was reading the skills book and since it had been almost 10 years since I took the course I had forgotten a lot of the steps. I found your channel Saturday, August 21st. I went through every single one of your videos Saturday evening, all day Sunday, all day Monday and this morning (Tuesday) before my skills test. Thanks to your awesome teaching, great and helpful tips as well as your videos I just signed on and found out I passed my skills test!! Written and skills test complete and passed!! I had hang hygiene (obviously), five modified bed bath, dress client with weakened right arm, measure urinary output and don and doff PPE (gown and gloves). Your tips on how to put on the new gown for bed bath, having the patient hold the sheet with their chin and putting the button up shirt on the right side so I didn’t accidentally do the wrong side, putting the gown sleeves over half my palms for getting the gloves over the sleeves and stepping away from the sink when rinsing the bed pan and container were all perfection! I tested in Washington State who follows Pearson Vue. Thank you again!! So so much!
    Also, thank you greatly for doing 2 mock skills testing videos. It helped a lot and answered soooo much questions I had. ❤️❤️

    According to our AMRC training you can not wiggle fingers, you must use paper towel to turn on and off water, and you must soap hands in a specific order: soap, lather circular motion once on both hands, then wrist, next interlock fingers, thumbs, nails and done. I notice a few other differences as well but I am in California we dont have to dry each finger only dry each hand in upward motion.

      @@NURSEJAR Hi Julie - we are being taught that when we dry our hands, we should be drying the tips first and then drying our hands upwards. This is in Minnesota, we also use Pearson Vue. Is this a new change for 2019?

    • @NURSEJAR
      @NURSEJAR  Před 5 lety +3

      Hi, Lady Trogdolyte! The step specifically states to start drying hands beginning with the fingers. What it doesn't state, but is implied, is that the candidate must dry the fingers of each hand, first, then continue to dry the remaining areas of the hands, wrists and lower arms.
      Now, this step does not specify in which direction to dry these areas. So, whether you dry in an upward or downward fashion, it really doesn't matter.

      @@llanetortiz3177 Hi! First, the content of the oral and written tests are the same. The only difference is that the questions and answer choices on the oral test are read to you or voiced.
      When you receive your report, it should indicate which skills you passed and which skulls you failed.
      For the written knowledge test, the report should indicate a percentage rate for all the domains.
      Usually, for the written exam, you must score at least a 70% in all domains to receive a "pass".

      Hi, Lauren! Because Hand Hygiene is one of the most simplistic skills, Candidates really do not focus on their placement of hands, rinsing thoroughly, and counting ensuring they lather for at least 20 seconds.
      The most simplistic skills are usually the skills that Candidates fail.

      If you live in the state of Texas, you will receive a "PASS" if you receive a "SATISFACTORY" on 4/5 skills. All other Pearson Vue states must receive a "SATISFACTORY " on 5/5 skills to receive a "PASS".
      If you test under Prometric or Headmaster, you will have to perform 3 to 4 "SCENARIO-BASED" skills and must receive a "SATISFACTORY " on all skills to receive a "PASS".

      All your anger that exudes from your statement, turn it into positive energy by doing something that will bring more attention to the CNAs' payscale. Be a Pioneer in a movement, not a thorn that pricks the hopes and dreams of future CNAs.
