Shinkansen Japan is unrivalled for their placing importance on safety for passengers every step of the way. Only minor derailments after heavy earthquake.
All the other high speed trains in the world have had major fatalities due to human error.
GERMAN ICE, SPAIN HIGH SPEED, FRANCE TGV, CHINA CRE .
ONLY Japan strict adherence to safety with many redundancies and margins of safety.

Sounds right about when demand for this train will be unquestionable. Talking about a service speed increase of just 60kph, which is actually impressive for being done on legacy shinkansen tracks

This train is part of a project to extend the Hokkaido Shinkansen to Sapporo. It will take until 2031 to finish the new route extension, but existing trains won't be able to run the longer route fast enough to compete with the airlines. This train is a prototype for the next generation train, but until the extension is finished, faster speeds aren't really needed.

@@weasdf8718 No, the Fuxing Hao trains can run up to 400 km/h when needed. The maximum line speed is 350 km/h with train lines like the Shanghai to Beijing designed for 380 km/h. They are working towards operating trains at a regular 380 km/h in the near future. The “Hexie” trains, excluding CRH3C, CRH2x and CRH1 are designed for an absolute maximum speed of 380 km/h. It’s in the name,
      CRH380A
      CRH380AL

@@absolutelyabsolute4671 Don’t be deceived by western lunacy, no Chinese rolling stock was stolen. The new “Fuxing” type trains or also known as “Rejuvenation” are fully Chinese made with Chinese components, these can be exported as it is China’s property. Indonesia and Thailand are some of the few countries that have ordered this rolling stock. Where it gets interesting is the older “Hexie” or “Harmony” trains where either bought from other manufacturers like Hitachi/Kawasaki consortium, Siemens and Bombardier (CRH2, CRH3C, CRH1). The CRH380A was the first train China manufactured wholly on its own. Kawasaki took CRH/CRRC to court because they believed they stole their technology, until proven wrong they backed down the case and now these sets are in use in China and Hong Kong. I’m aware China have done vast range of theft in the automobile and infrastructure department but in the railway sector there is none of it.

There's nothing next generation from this design....it's just longer nose and minor changes on the look and some elements....this can only be consider improvements to allow higher speed...but not next generation as nothing new is developed on the train that makes it special.

@@yusukei56 I think you are the one who understands nothing, but that's nothing to argue about, you know how much you know and so do I.
Like you said, it's been developed for quite a long time, and for some of the new bullets trains developed in Japan, China, Germany, or anywhere else...they modify their looks, increased their nose to adapt modern or futuristic style and increase of speed and efficiency. These are all enhancements, so how can you call it a Next Gen?
I assume you are a Japanese? And it's good that you are proud to be one and that you have pride for what's developed in your own country, but note here, I'm not bashing at this train, I'm just saying it can't be called the next gen if there's nothing really new install in it that makes it different or more advance than it's previous ones.
Before you call someone shallow, look at how deep you are actually analyzing things first. I agree that this train is cool and fast, and better than whatever is before it, but NOT a next gen.

@@ginnox2049 you guys are arguing about semantics. Now the long nose is not to look cool but to minimize tunnel boom because there are stringent noise restrictions in japan. If you want next gen look at their maglev they're already building the new tracks
