Regarding the Titanic having it right: I just listened to the testimony of a Titanic survivor, Commander Lightoller, who spoke of the deafening roar of steam being released. He says it was so loud, that he had to cup his hands over his mouth and yell into the captain's ear, words to the effect of, "Should we board women and children in the lifeboats?". To which the captain simply nodded, obviously due to the noise. While the movie captured the captains 1000-mile stare of a nod, it did not cover the deafening noise. czcams.com/video/uzG4cjm5mKo/video.html
I crossed the English channel on a British LSL ship in 1993. 18 hours onboard, five of them spent like this. Scared the bejezuz out of everyone except the ships personnel. Said I would never go on a ship again, kept to my word until 2014 and crossed the Irish sea from Holyhead to Dublin on one of those Swifts. Onboard the captain came over the tannoy and stated 'bags are being left on the tables for anyone who may suffer seasickness as this will be a bumpy sail for the first hour'. Yeap, you guessed it, people were being sick all over the HSS. lasted around 40 minutes, boat went up, sea went down, my eyes couldn't keep up with it. Never again will I sail.
I've crossed the NYC harbor hundreds of times on the SI ferry and I swear that statue gives me the finger every time.....thats my ocean horror story....😎
I come from a very, very long line of Navy seafarers…plus, I’m an Aussie, everyone I’m descended from arrived here by boat in the 17/18 hundreds…and nope. If I can’t see shore, and the shore I can see isn’t swimming distance, and the boat I’m on isn’t small enough to jump off…that’s a nope, nope, nope for me. I’m a disappointment to my bloodline, but I support your wisdom.
This is what sailing the seas use to be like; then ship stabilization systems were invented. Everyone should enjoy the ride like their great grandparents would have.
At least in the air you can’t get hit by a grand piano or a flying brandy snifter, the contents of a swimming pool and a set of steak knives. And dying is fast.
It's probably the crew mess hall. I worked in a cruise ship and mine was divided into 3 mess hall's. The lowest of the low (for waiters, dishwashers, room cleaners, etc.) is the Crew mess. Then you have the Staff mess hall. The staff are the middle class of the workers, they work in the reception, translation, entertainment, spa... And the officers mess hall is where all the big bosses (captain, head staff, restaurant bosses) eat. Also the crew mess food was always awful in my ship. And i worked for a "luxury" cruise line company.
If it was a tsunami they'd go over it no problem, they wouldn't even know they went over one cause the ocean would be flat calm. Tsunamis only get big when they get close to shore
From what I could gather from another video, they were in a really violent storm and for some reason, the captain decided to turn the ship. Something he should have known better than to do. When he started the turn the wind and waves pushed the ship to its port side and it listed severely. Someone said the ship listed almost to the point of capsizing but somehow held on. You can see it from the point of view of the passengers in the upper deck cafe here, the big list begins around 7:06: czcams.com/video/j0-tvUH1n_s/video.html
@@kimcheezy3433 not quite what you are saying. Because of 110kt aveam wind and very high waves the ship listed several times. The port propeller came out 2 times and the 3 time cut off due to overspin, beeing an shaft generator engine. In that moment the ship turned with bow into the wind due to the wind surface.
Hey Juliane Pink, do you have an email address at which we could contact you regarding this video? We would be interested to discuss a license to use this video if this is generally possible? (i.e. via email) 🙂 Cheers, Felix

What I saw was in some ways is amusing. We see people holding on for support. We see a man slide across the floor. We see things on the floor, but if you notice in the left fore ground, the dishes stayed on the table and did not slide off. Is that a slice of lemon ma-rang pie?
You know it's bad when you look out the window and you can see fish.
HAHAHAHA......
Or if you hear someone shouting allah uh akbar.
@gaming site That's what I thought.
@@Yanpac Well... that's like saying "oh my god". The dude is scared. What's so abnormal about that? Such a lame joke to make. A racist one too.

Welcome to another episode of: in my recommendations
I'd be mad as hell if I had to die hearing that freaking alarm. Titanic had that part right at least.

That loud noise is very helpful.
This gives a whole new meaning to the word “messroom”!

I don’t blame you
I beginning sing "My Heart Will Go On"
That high pitched sound is really just some Dude screaming "FU*K!!!!!" And being censored
And for lunch, Tossed Salad!
This is what sailing the seas use to be like; then ship stabilization systems were invented. Everyone should enjoy the ride like their great grandparents would have.
Well this is what it's like on the Larne to Stranraer ferry so stabilisation system either doesn't work or the ships don't have them 😅
This ship had stabilizers on, the problem was 110knt wind aveam in gulf of lion.
@@rock07879 LOL. My dad (merchant navy) used to describe the old Irish Sea Sealink ferries as having all the aquadynamic qualities of a 'biscuit tin'.
i’m so glad the lady got free i thought she was gonna get crushed by the tables
The waves are going high on the windows
Whats worse than drowning is that alarm
Great fun. That’s what being at sea is all about!
2 generations in my family. my dad and grandfather were tugboat capt
Looks relaxing ....
Assim como nos ares acontece a turbulência com os aviões, no mar acontece o mesmo com os navios.

You know someone went to the cruise director and complained. They didn’t sign up for the core and leg workout package
Dios, que terror, espero que hayan terminado bien.
Look out the portholes if you wanna see where the real party was happening.
Crê en Deus pai. Parece um liquidificador
Out of all the videos I have seen this is the scariest.
The scariest is not the tilt of the ship but the sight of what is going on outside and you can see, outside looks horrible
Qué puta adrenalina quiero estar ahí 😄
I’m a navy seal this is our boat without the roof and the rain becomes part of the sea lol
That guy went flying and the plates didn’t even move a inch
The crew's messroom looks like a mess...😉
Is it just me or is Everyone geting the glitch thingy at the bottom
I lived aboard the Nordnorge while anchored next to a LNG regasification facility. Often we had to race back to port because of 20 ft seas.
" Sorry boys, its too rough to feed ya! "
Oh come on !!! Why does this always happen in the middle of dinner 🍽😕.
I think they should have furniture that should have self Locking mechanisms to the floor and the windows should not be glass
Exactly.
Eeeeepaaaaa!!!!
the video glitching makes it 1000x scarier
A little rough out there that day.
Nice video
Meu deuxxxx... carak deu tudo certo depois?
Quando?, Qual navio?
Waves smashing into the Windows no thanks keep the job they better pay you lot well.
Not just smashing. They were listing to the point that their deck windows were underwater 😱
Nunca pensé que volvería a sentir esa emoción tan fea cuando escuchamos la señal de el Abandono de barco
Petrus: "Today we wash all the ships that are here in the sea. Sorry if this makes you uncomfortable."
Where are the stabilizers ?.
frits langerak, stabilizers can’t always be deployed, and don’t always work when they are.
Oh how fun just need some music and roller blades.
I, stupidly, want to yell, "Get the dishes off the table or we'll be cleaning up slop later."
That's what they were served, so I suppose that makes sense....
Stay docked and enjoy the ship and amenities safely. Who cares if you’re actually sailing?! Good food and lots of relaxation!
Will the ship sink??

I'm just thinking about the people that were on deck at that time 😳
Really hoping nothing had happened
I’m sure people weren’t allowed on deck, in this kind of storm.
"can I just get my burger to go...?"
This ship comes with an indoor slide on every deck.
Fun

Either that’s a smaller ship or that’s some serious waves. I’ve been in some bad ones but it wasn’t that crazy
