#KingaGorski #selfmastery #reinventyourself - Zábava
How do YOU control your impulses? It can be so challenging, especially when we feel triggered - will you try the technique I shared in the video?? Let me know!
Interesting question. It depends if you're anticipating something happening, and what your mood is at the time the event happens. Great topic for a video.
I tend to be the opposite. I think about things for awhile before I decide.
It's a tricky question to answer that certainly can depend on the context of a situation - depending on how much self control we have. Thank you!
That's really fortunate you don't fall victim to impulsive behaviour then. :)
Hey thanx a lot❤️
I honestly searched for this because i know i am impusive and i'm unknowingly hurting people. Thank u for this!
That's very big of you to acknowledge that - not just within yourself, but for the way that's impacting others. Really proud of you for taking action to elevate yourself and improve your relationships!
I’m either really impulsive or I take FOREVER to make a decision. There is no in between
Ah I know the feeling - if that’s something you want to find some middle ground between though, know that it’s possible by first making the decision to do so and continue to explore that! 💪
“Don’t be a slave to impulse”- lets stop and breathe before we react 👌🏽

Throughout the years of going through shit myself I’ve started to become toxic and sabotaging friendships. I’ve picked up an unhealthy habit of cutting people off really quickly, leaving group chats without discussing and just leaving. And without realising how this might be making other people feel. I’ve lost some potential friendships over this and I just hope I can learn from this but im not sure if I’ll find these types of friends again
Hey Ati, first off, I really commend you for being so vulnerable and acknowledging where you feel you can improve. I've been there myself at times and it's those tougher moments that push us to become better, so there's always a lesson to be learned. I've found it tremendously helpful to practice forgiveness - both towards myself (for the times I didn't act as my highest self) and towards others. You will absolutely connect with the friends who are meant to be in your life. The self-development and personal growth journey is lifelong, and challenging yet beautiful. Stay the course 🙏
@@KingaGorski Thank you so much for the reply, I really needed it :)
Of course, happy to help however I can!
"slave to impulses" sums it up nicely. I've learned to walk away or just not react right away
Walking away and removing yourself from the conflict is a very healthy tactic as well - as long as it doesn't end up in avoiding the issue at hand!

So important to talk about this - I loved your example of the harm of 'blowing up' on someone because of the way you feel. I always say to take a step back whenever possible and address the situation once the emotional charge has been removed or settled down. Great video!
It's hard to control those "blow up" feelings sometimes but as you said, you gotta let the emotional charge cooool down first. Thanks so much!

I actually had to deal with a lot and I use to be very impulsive when I would get angry but I've learned how to stay calm now. My parents were very impulsive with their anger so witnessing that as I grew up made me feel like that it was okay to express anger in the heat of the moment but that was never very effective it actually made things worse.
I resonate with you so much on that - my dad was physically abusive (something I've talked about a lot) and so I emulated his actions for a long time and carried a lot of rage inside growing up. I'm so thankful to have done the deep work (and continue to do so!) to live a better life and be a kinder, more tranquil person.
@@KingaGorski I'm happy you overcame that! Don't you think back to your past sometimes and realize even though you came out of so much pain you wouldn't trade that pain in for the world because it shaped you to become the person you are today and will be in the future.
Oh yeah, absolutely. I contemplate it regularly - it's brought me so much strength. Obviously in the grand scheme of things, I'd rather it have not happened as it did bring a lot of anger into my life, but because I became a victor (and not a victim) of my circumstances, I'm appreciative of the lessons of the experience, and I can now help other people move through their personal shit storms. It's made me one helluva resilient badass woman.

Kinga Gorski lets do it!
I actually already do a form of the technique. I take a step away from the situation release it through breathing, step back into it and then can handle it in peace. Loved the video!
Tony Myers Healing That’s so awesome, Tony! I think stepping away from the situation is hugely beneficial - in hindsight I wish I had also included that as it’s such a strong tool. :)
I have the impulsiveness to stand down when someone gaslights me.
Ain't nobody got time for gaslighting... The key is to be aware when any impulsive behaviour starts to become destructive and non-serving, to both ourselves and others. It takes time and *courage* to learn how to speak up for ourselves-I also had to practice speaking my mind and standing my ground, and now I'm wayyyy better at it now in my 30's than in my 20's. It's a skill that can be learned 🙏
Love the speak softly tip!

I'm going to remember those 'six breaths!' Who knew that an involuntary action of our bodies could be so powerful? In terms of decision making, I always remember the line Oprah says, "Let's me pray on it." (like let me sleep on it). Impulsive decision making rarely ends well! Great video.

Hey Dolly! You're right-there's always the possibility that our relationships may be impacted by our impulsive behaviour, however that doesn't always have to mean they'll be ruined. A great start is that you landed on this video and you're able to acknowledge that you're working on finding more peace and control over the impulsivity. I'm not always that impulsive.
But you know very well sometimes when there are things happening and suddenly they just stop for some reason. Then your mind start playing tricks on you saying, asking to this and that, call them, meet them, go see what's happening without realizing the response.
Beautifully put by you the thing between "Stimulus and Response". That's the prelude where calmness is so profoundly needed which entails rewards.
I will definitely update you with the progress.

How to stop being impulsive in feelings
The same applies in terms of catching yourself in the moment, when your triggered emotions are starting to rise - taking at least 6 slow, mindful, deep breaths - and then choosing to act as your highest self in the situation. Choosing to live into the feelings you’d *prefer* to feel, and overlaying them on top of those automatic triggered emotions. It’s easier said than done of course, especially at the beginning, but remember this is a habit and skill that can be learned and improved upon with time, commitment, and persistence. 🙏
yep, scatterdness is VERY yang
Yang has it's place, as does Yin - but we must discern when, where and why to drop into those energies.
