I have the phone soap too and was looking for a larger versions since my phone didn't fit with the case on. Didn't know they had this, thanks for posting!

The great thing about the HomeSoap is that you can sanitize multiple smaller items at the same time, along with your phone (inside the case). I usually throw in my phone, keys, sunglasses and watch all at once when I come home. It's great.

Alcohol swabs also damage oleophobic coating on screen surfaces - UV santiation keeps that stuff intact

I bet I could make a 2 sided box and clean larger items simply using the lights if I can get it to turn on when it's open...or use alc. pads!

Just wondering could a 15inch laptop fit into it?

At the 5:25 mark, ,what's the point of the vertical quartz tubes on the sides if they don't even light up? It seems the unit only effectively kills bacteria from above and below since those UV tubes light up. I highly doubt its effectiveness to kill bacteria on the sides of whatever item you place in there.

I wondered the same thing. I believe the point of the clear side tubes is to act as posts. This would allow larger objects to lean against it, creating space between the object and the side wall. This space would allow light to pass along the sides and maximize the UV-C coverage to sanitize the contents of the unit. At least that's my theory.

@@dadmanvlogging1811 I contacted Home Soap and their response was that the side quartz tubes lighting up in the other CZcams video was for demonstrative purposes only. Those side tubes are not meant to light up. I confirmed this by filming my unit's interior with my smartphone. LOL...they should've stated "demonstrative purposes only" on their other CZcams video.

According to Home Soap, you correctly noted that the vertical quartz tubes are for larger objects to lean against to allow more light to pass along the sides to maximize UV-C coverage. However, I'm not completely sold on the effectiveness of the light reflection from the side walls to kill bacteria. There seems to be too much shadows on the side walls to justify their claimed "360°sanitation to kill 99.99% of bacteria." For the price of this Home Soap, you'd think there'd be extra UV-C tubes on the sides that'll light up.
I call bullshit on their 360° coverage claim but I still use my Home Soap because there's currently no comparable replacement.

Just 2 lights in such a big box? My PhoneSoap Pro got 4 lights and it's much smaller than HomeSoap.

I agree. It would have been great to have 4 lights, with the extra 2 along both side walls. Maybe they are holding that back for a "HomeSoap Pro" version. If they did that I'd like it to be a little bigger as well to fit a 15-16" laptop as someone in the comments asked about. But much like your PhoneSoap Pro, if they did make a pro version for the HomeSoap, it would surely come at a premium price. But for what this current unit is, at this price point, I'm satisfied and not complaining.
