Gemini Man At least 12-4 but at best 13-3. As good as Brady was, that defense was OLD. He could have helped beat the Colts but Cassel had a hell of a game in the OT loss to the Jets. I dont think Brady could have helped there. Still, one more win meant playoffs and we all know what happens when the Steelers face the Patriots in the playoffs (96, 01, 04, 16)

Aw yeah... back when the Steelers had easily one of the most stacked teams in the NFL (2008: 12W-4L). Admittedly there was no Brady present at this game, we all know he certainly would have changed the dynamic, but this 2008 team was so fun to watch, hugely successful (superbowl champs from 6th seed, first ever) and I watched every damn game this season and loved every moment. Not to mention we had a future HOF franchise QB in the damn prime of his career. Dude was just getting heated up around this time. Also, can't forget this year had the standout of probably one of the best defenses in the league since the 1990s.
The 2008 Steeler Defense led the NFL in fewest points allowed, lowest total yards allowed, fewest passing yards allowed, and second least rushing yards permitted. Polamalu, Farrior and James Harrison got Pro Bowl nods in '08, and James Harrison won Defensive Player of the Year award after tallying 16 sacks during the regular season, only to come up with the game-changing 100 yard pick in the Superbowl. Storybook type stuff... I'll tell my kids about this '08 team one year down the road when the Steelers really suck (it's gotta happen eventually, right) and just hang my head and remember "the good ole' days".
Also fun to watch Ryan Clark absolutely DESTROY Wes Welker. LOL. I'm glad he survived,... that was close to the Burfict hit on Antonio Brown, only Clark didn't lead with the helmet unlike Burfict. I liked Welker, don't get me wrong, but after watching the Pats dominate the AFC from 2002-2007, well...

NE was 11-5 with two other non division winning teams and after all the tiebreakers were hashed, they were the odd man out, hence becoming only the second team in history to post an 11-5 record and miss the playoffs. Can't disagree with you yet Arizona was on a mission during the 08 playoffs and yes I know about week 16 where the Patriots beat the Cardinals like 47-7 or something like that in the snow in Fox borough but teams like the Panthers and Eagles beat the Cardinals in the regular season but once the Playoffs came it was a different story and Arizona was one fire 🔥 Pittsburgh shut down Fitzgerald for most of the game but it was a tip toe that history was made and the 08 Patriots were good but their defense was old and a shelf of their 07 undefeated team maybe motivation was lost when Brady went down but that defense who was a Bill Bellicheck defense got sometimes stomped and dominated statically it shocks me they were a 8th ranked defense when Miami ran all over them, San Diego dominated them, Brett Favre had a field day in Fox borough that Thursday night game, and Pittsburgh suffocated them in this game. Their 5th lost to the Colts was a defensive game but sometimes this team was not that good and they needed Brady bad cause yes Cassell balled but he couldn't bail them of big holes like Brady did

      1. You can't be a Patriots fan and complain about cheating.
      2. James Harrison was a defensive player, do you expect Roethlisberger play defense? That 100 yard pick 6 also happened while the Steelers in general dominated all facets of the game.
      3. Santonio Holmes dropped a game winner a play before the legendary play we know today. A TD pass implies a catch. Roethlisberger threw it, Holmes caught it.
