- A quick look at Megos new 50th anniversary line of the Worlds Greatest Superheroes line which includes the DC characters Batman, Robin, Superman, Flash, Green Lantern, Shazam and Aquaman. This figures are straight copies of the original figures including boxes from the 1970’s, is this good for Mego collectors. We explore these figures and their impact, answering the important questions like Are these worth it? Do they de-value the original figures on the secondary market? Mego collectors what are your thoughts?

I am 56 years old. I can remember these commercials and being glued to the TV screen watching . Miss my Mego’s!!!!!

@@Collectorsconfessions I was able to buy my son the super friends . Captain America, Spiderman. Hawkman. I bought my all time favorite Superman Aquaman Tarzan Green lantern and Davy Crockett. My son also has Green Arrow. But I had to work to find them all.
@44mag39 I have been looking for a good Captain American and Falcon at a manageable price for a long time. Then and the Fantastic Four so hard to find

I don't understand why people cringe when they see that falcon bit of the commercial. It's not saying anything racist, he is a black superhero. If anything It's just stupid for pointing out the obvious

Excellent video guys !!!! The 50th Anniversary Mego figures are absolutely fantastic !!! These beautiful figures are a true Time Machine to my childhood !!!!! It was a pleasant surprise to have Green Latern and The Flash in 50th Anniversary version !!!!! And I absolutely remember the Jaws game !!!! My brother got it for Christmas !!!!
Same with us, they were a huge part of my Christmas mornings as a childhood. Actually my great-grandmother would always by them for me. So many great memories. Had to buy then when they came out plus they finally added the Flash and Green Lantern. Waited 40 years for them!
@@Collectorsconfessions That’s awesome !!!! I just recently purchased the 50th Anniversary Green Arrow and the Reverse Flash Mego figures !!! Green Arrow is one of the Mego figures I didn’t have as a kid so I was literally beyond excited that Mego produced this beautiful figure again !!!

Great Mego video - my first Mego was Aquaman, but I don't think he came with the shark... Also had Kirk, Spock, Spidey, and Batman! Great memories!
Awesome always wanted that shark. My first Megos were Batman and Robin From my Great Grandmother. Plus got the Batmobile.
I'll tell you who would think this is bad for collectors. People wanting the high prices for their vintage figures of the same figures. Why would I spend a few hundred dollars a figure for something when I can get the real thing. I didn't buy my Green Arrow from a speculator grabbing up tens and 20,'s of the figure. I got him at a toy collectible shop for 15.95 and Shazam and Flash and others. Bought more there yesterday. I was planning on buying more 50th. I did pick up another Aquaman and Green Lantern and Superman. I'll need doubles for diorama purposes.
These have become pretty easy to find and the newer versions even easier. Now that Mego has the Marvel license again it really puts a dent in the resale of the vintage figures.

That is definitely something that needs to be fixed. Curious, was Mego available in the 1970s?
@@Collectorsconfessions They were - I think they might have been licenced to someone else like Palitoy, though I could be wrong. It just seems like this anniversary wave hasn't come out over here, and those sites taking preorders have had to cancel them - very frustrating! Maybe they uderestimated demand...

Got the Shazam Mego figure as remember the Saturday morning TV in the 70's. Would be cool if Mego did an Isis figure (yeah the name aged well lol) She had some Egyptian gold medallion that gave her super powers.
Isis would be awesome, I’m hoping for a Teen Titans release.
An ISIS figure has been produced. Not that many, but a figure of that character has been made.

I don’t think so.
I myself started in 1965 and I had Superman, Batman (with removable cowl), Robin (with painted on mask) and Aquaman. The only one I have left is Superman and he's not in the best condition. I bought a new one about 2 years ago but I didn't know they had brought out these anniversary ones! I've been trying to collect them off of Amazon. I tried to get Batman with the removable cowl but they kept sending me the Batman 66 variant. I know it's hard to get so I kept it but I would still like the light blue cowl Batman because that's the one I had. I keep seeing all these videos that say they were available at Big Lots a year ago but I think it's too late because I haven't found squat out there. I've also noticed that the joints are frozen. Did yours come like that? I used a hair dryer to heat them and it worked. Were you able to get the Superman variant as well?
I have been searching Big Lots high and low and not only haven’t I found one the stores keep saying they never got any. I’m hoping they decide to release them through other retail stores at some point. I haven’t opened any of the ones I bought yet. Probably bad for people wanting to get hundreds of dollars for vintage items but anyone having these don't need to pay so much to speculators.
It’s good for people who want to recollect them, that’s why I bought them. Had them when I was a kid wanted the nostalgia back

I love the 50th anniversary figures. I could never afford the originals. I have all of them.
Exactly how I felt.
Had them when I was a kid couldn’t repurchase them at the prices now. These were great
