    Wow! One landing tip that you mentioned in this video has transformed my accuracy.
    That is to, during approach, maintain a speed that's just above stall speed. This minimise the risk of over or under shooting the runway but have enough room to increase or decrease throttle if required.

    Have you noticed there are two ways of setting the weather? One is in the main menu and the other is the in game. I found it when I was trying to set a calm day ie Calm conditions No Wind No Cloud just to check out why the aircraft a Cessna 152 was still rocking and rolling in supposedly calm weather. I had set calm conditions in the main screen but the in game settings were still set as default, after making sure both matched each other I got the weather I wanted. Thought you might like to know this twin choice we seem to have?

      Hi, I prefer using my yoke system when flying aircraft that have an actual yoke in them (like the Cessnas etc); but I love using my Hotas One with my Series S - it adds a lot of immersion, over using the gamepad and it feels fluid and accurate when in flight.
      If you're sat back on a coach like me in your lounge, then the Hotas is the better choice, as yokes really need to be mounted to a desk or similar.

    • @Huddison

    Thanks for this back to basics tutorial. I have a lot of trouble trimming,so I will practice. The external view in the is aircraft gives a numerical indication of our trimming, is that accurate? I like to see how the numbers change with my inputs for trimming but half of the time they don’t change …

    • @Huddison
      @Huddison  Před 2 lety

      Hi, in regards to trimming, I would advice that you concentrate on the Vertical speed marker/tab in the cockpit.
      If you're climbing or descending, if you look closely enough, it will display numbers informing you of your climb/decent vertical speed.

    • @caskraker
      @caskraker Před 2 lety +1

      The figure in external view shows the percentage. One dab doesn’t make one percent. I think it only does 0,1 or 0,2 percent per dab, at least after the update. Before that it did do 1 percent per dab, which was way to much to be able to trim. That is why you don’t see it changing that much now.

    While I saw in one of your other videos that you use buttons for Trim I am still on the default settings here. Having really issues with this to keep my plane balanced I wonder if using buttons instead of the Axis makes the difference. What would your recommendation be?

      @@Huddison thanks for the reply. This rally sound logical to me. So I tried Trim with buttons, but I think I still don't get the trick. Used the same flight route as in your video, but with real weather on. For me it was like push button once for nose up - nothing happened - push button twice - nothing happen - push button a third time - plane start climbing rapidly. Push button nose down once - plane start to sink even more than climbing before. When I had it balanced for a few seconds and had my hands of the controller it started sinking again extreme. To sum it up for me Trim is a stressful process and not nearly as relaxed as in your video. Hopefully this is caused by the weather conditions.

    First I’m a newbie with flight sim. But trim on the sim l do not like l was always taught “PAT” to climb or descend Power, Attitude, Trim and never to fly the aircraft with the trim control. I hate the sim yokes that are spring loaded as you cannot feel the aircraft. Personally l feel the sim is harder than the real thing. On the real thing you relieve the load on the yoke after you set the attitude you required which takes just a few seconds. I use the Honeycomb yoke and throttle units (I read they are in financial trouble now) and do not like the yoke for the reasons l mentioned. Does anyone have one of the expensive yoke’s that are supposed to be force feedback?

      I like your videos and you do a fine job explaining many things. However in the world of aviation the spoken word is finite. It is important that the correct phraseology be used to omit errors in understanding. As an example in the UK it is perfectly acceptable to use a torch to check the fuel level in a fuel tank. Anywhere else some one may take that as using a propane torch to use as a light source.
      We both know how that outcome would be.
