Foreigner a great rock band from the 70/80's. This one on the mellow side for Foreigner, but still good. A song for a girlfriend or wife. They have a huge catalog as I'm sure Larry knows. Others to do from them - Dirty White Boy, Double Vision, Blue Morning Blue Day, Say You Will, That Was Yesterday, Long Long Way From Home, and Head Games, Urgent, Feels Like the First Time, Juke Box Hero, Soul Doctor, I Want To Know What Love Is.
A great song from '4', probably their best album. It has great rock songs such as Juke Box Hero and Urgent as well as this great power ballad. Other power ballads you could react to are I Want to Know What Love Is - again by Foreigner, Keep On Loving You-REO Speedwagon, Amanda-Boston and Total Eclipse of the Heart-Bonnie Tyler - written by Jim Steinman who wrote all the Meatloaf songs.
I’ve recently started thinking that the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is a scam anyway. Bands like Iron Maiden, Grank Funk Railroad, Judas Preist, and Skid Row aren’t even there while artists like Eminem are there -Ethan
@@fatherandsonreactions It pretty much is. The people running it are making their decisions based more on what will drive tourist dollars to Cleveland to see it and attend the induction ceremonies, not on whether or not the bands in question count as "rock 'n' roll" or were influential to the genre in any significant way.
We don't need the Hall Of Fame. We know what we like. All it is, is some jumped up individuals with money and who know how to make money. Maybe it is that to not get in that door is the better thing due to it being just a mockery.
Great song! I think what makes Foreigner so great is their versatility, from hard hitters like Juke Box Hero to ballads like this. Having Lou Gramm as your singer is a plus 😊. “Urgent” would be my recommendation from the same album. Cheers guys!

I agree. It is one of those classics that everyone should know. I was never really a big Foreigner fan, but knew their songs really well due to radio play. Experiencing this song with you guys today, and listening on headphones, I am struck at how beautiful the backing vocals are. Thanks for the reaction! 😎😎

This song spent a record 10 weeks at #2 without ever reaching the top of the charts. It was bested for 9 weeks by Olivia Newton-John's "Physical" and 1 week by Hall and Oates' "I Can't Go For That (No Can Do)".
@@fatherandsonreactions "Physical" was driven to #1 (and kept there) largely on the strength of the music video, and the controversy over the suggestive (for the time, anyway) lyrics which actually led to the song being banned in several markets.
How hard of a song called "Waiting For A Girl Like You" could be depends on exactly what kind of girl you're waiting for 😆 There's a CZcams group called Lexington Lab Band that does a fantastic cover of this and a lot of other great classics. They're more of a collective than a band so they switch around singers and guitarists and background singers to suit whichever song they're doing and it almost always is incredible. I'm not a big fan of their attempts at Rush and Steely Dan, but I have a much higher bar for those two than I do for most others.
This song was a big hit on both sides of the Atlantic for this Anglo-American band, charting in 1981 at #2 in the US and #8 in the UK. The obvious suggestion would be I Want To Know What Love Is, 1984 #1 in most countries, and it's a power ballad with the emphasis on the power, so you might like that one even better. You also definitely need to do George Harrison, David Bowie, and Carly Simon's songs from this poll. They should all have been poll winners and not 3rd place in their original polls.
