I have to say I was never a fan of the DT03 chassis till I got one in a Tamiya bundle of RC cars second hand and started to bash it because it was the cheapest kit in the bundle , I've upgraded it to a 5200kv & 120 Amp ESC brushless combo on 3s and it's taken everything I've thrown at it ... I love this chassis now , It's a great laugh
Looks great. I wouldn't change it at all. The pink wing sides set it off. If you had left them white you would have regretted it!
That's a real beaut of a Tamiya Dt03. I also want to say that I fractured my left thumb... it makes it tough to drive a rc car.
The frog livery was an inspired choice, it works perfectly and looks way better than the box art!👍👍
I think the car looks perfect. The wing looks great with the pink on the sides. Maybe like 30 seconds less in the dye for the wheels would have made them a bit lighter pink to match the paint better. But all in all, it’s a winner. Great job.
I think the dark pink wheels look good with the light pink body, it makes the car standout more.
The modern day classic the DT-03! Glenn the body you absolutely nailed love it but sorry buddy the wheels aren't working for me this time!
But just my preference l would probably go white.
Saying that it's definitely made this unique to you with the wheels like they are!
Overall though I absolutely love it they call these the mighty frog nowadays a great acknowledgement to the original classic the legendary Frog!

Looks awesome! My tip: take a 19t pinion, a sports tuned motor, a 2s battery 🔋, and run it! It runs absolutely great!
Colour scheme is awesome. I had a hotshot 2 as a kid, brought neo fighter recently just to build it really. Wish I used pink now.

We are all getting excited down here in Melbourne Australia. Our second Vintage RC bash is on and It's getting a lot of great cars out of the woodwork. I'm about to build up a Blitzer Beetle. Puts a new pep in our step having something to build for. Love this frog throw-back. No doubt we will see some of the originals at the vintage bash here. Keep up the good work.
Came up great Glenn! I have a Neo Fighter in the original box art, as it was an XB model.. I will look to purchase a new body now and convert it to the Frog livery, to match my Vintage Frog 🤩

I think it looks great! I am fond of this chassis to start with as they are a great bang for the buck buggy! before the decals went on the wheels stood out more but after the decals were one it made the difference a lot less noticeable and you eyes were drawn to the body more than the wheels. Great job!
To be honest, I think it looks awesome, you've done a superb job! Yeah, the wheels are a bit darker than they should be, but I don't think it detracts too much from the overall look at all. And personally I like the pink wing sides, looks great. As for lowering the buggy as you have, if it's not going to be run it makes no difference at all, and the stance looks fantastic. Top job!!
It’s great the pink works your always gonna be critical but I like her, I’ve done one similar great to see other people’s takes. Spot on and a crisp vibrant paint job good stuff 🎉😎
Nice work man 👍you can always have a play around with the wheel colour, if the pink is too much. I have an original frog, box art, with black painted wheels, and looks great. I never thought about painting the side wing pink on mine, that looks awesome.

Other than the shocks (I used some cheapo purple ones off eBay) that is exactly how I built mine. It's battered now 😂
I think it’s bob on, the pink wing sides are a definite plus, as are the pink wheels. Yeah slight colour difference to the body, but it’s easily near enough to do the job of coordinating. I keep my DT03 low like that as well, improves the look massively. Only thing I’d do, and it’s a tiny thing but adds balance, and that is to pick up some blue alloy bottom collars for those shocks. I have the same ones on my TT02, and it just adds a nice hint of blue bling low down.
I like it. You did your own thing with it, and that's what matters.

Looks excellent Glenn,I agree the carbon towers and the shocks look 10/10,but I have to say I love the difference between the pink on the body compared to the wheels,I think if it was possible to match the colour it mite look a little too much if u know what I mean, beautiful job mate as always 👍

I think it looks pretty good. I have one of these (and a Frog rere too). They go well. I reckon they could be made to do ok as a club racer with good tires and suspension.
I had one of these. I had the body painted and built some of it. I needed money real bad and had to sell it. Wish I still had it 😢
You considered doing the body’s with a air brush
Since I learned to use one (I build the movie rep Star Trek ships from the TMP era and they have Aztec’s on the hulls)
It’s so easy and controlled where you put the paint down

I have just started assembly of a new DT-03 kit (Tamiya Racing Fighter)
Just watched this video Glenn and definitely black wheels would make it pop. Also a black wing but a silver body in place of white (still keep the pink) would be something wild.
I do like it , may be some thin 5 spike with wheels like the tamtech frog would look good if you binned the pink ones

Like it Glenn, did almost the same with mine. Only couple of things I did differently were, stripped the anodised shocks and left silver alloy and painted the springs silver too, all as a nod the the original .
I left my wheels white but did do the wing sides like yours, also used the proper KC Daylighter decals for the spots.
All in all an awesome build but white wheels look better imo!🥰
I've always wanted to do an original (re-re would be far better, now that I think about it) Frog in a slightly modified livery, with the box art green stripes from the background added to the white/pink body. I think it'd be bitchin'.

Well I really like it mate 👍 but I am no fan of those DT03 wings, I had a real nightmare of a time trying to get paint adhere into those corners, even after I cleaned and and painted the wing at least 3 times.
Maybe if you had back the pink with black it may have been closer to the pink on the wheels but then you would lose that cool pink.
I may be buying a new body for my DT03 and a Tamiya racing wing after seeing this..

Needs pink shocks! I cut the shell a bit lower on mine to try to hide the chassis more.
glen just a thought how about the springs being done in pink.
I like the lifted style better.
Maybe stripping the blue shocks to silver would be cool, like original....

Great looking project! Quick question, what are your thoughts on those replacement shocks? Obviously not going to perform anything close to Tamiya Aeration Shocks, but do they work well enough to justify replacing original CVA's or would you say they're better suited for display purposes?
And of course now i NEED to have a driver in mine. Can I ask, where did you relocate the receiver to? TIA :-)

My daughter has been wanting Pino wheels on her pink and purple DT03 ... did you buy them that way or die them...?
I love it but the blue shocks are too different from the rest of the car, needs silver or grey even red shocks would look better
