It's time I buy this kit... been watching awhile now and it's time I do it as my body is not liking the 30 mile runs I do on an old skool trek B series... its time I buy this kit..
And for 879.99 for the extras it's an absolute amazing bargain I need in my life now...
I know im 2y past this post but Andy sir bloody well done for this... genuinely love how you explain it all for people like me to understand and get the best information for... thank you...
I'm thinking about using my everlast welder and converting my bike to electricity. This conversion kit looks interesting.
Good way to get into the game. Happy New Year Andy. All the best in 2020
Thanks for the info. Got into electric biking recently and still riding my first e bike but defo going to do an e bike build now instead of buying a pre made one. Thanks. Hope the weather is better!
Mate this is seriously impressive, i've been looking at e-bikes for the past couple months but this is the only e-bike i've come across that meets all my demands. You should be very proud of yourself mate this is very impressive.
Thanks mate 👍

The comments are very good. I had my experience with the Aston Rider kit, it came out less than 300usd with lifepo battery and it has been running without problems since I had it more than a year ago
Is it legal to put a conversion kit on my mountain bike?
There's a few things I can't help but overlook in this build, like that dangling break cable, but other than that and a few other things, oh my gosh, what a clean install, here in the Bay Area you see so many cheap kit slapped on with zip ties and electrical tape, I'm glad to see people still take pride in their bike builds
GUILTY, I've got electrical tape all over mine, it all gets practical when you get a puncture
I did mine real nice, now i use taped and i legit tie wires around themselves because its easier to keep fixing that way lol
Very interesting, looking forward to your build
That torque-arm is brilliant! Much better than the metal hose clamp models.
Built six bikes using this kit, recommend 100 percent spot on done over 900miles on mine in last few months, any weather.Mounted my controller to top of frame with a small project box behind it to hide wires, fitted a switch to box to select whether peddle assist is on or off and a small tactile switch to break lever instead of using the supplied ebrakes.
What is the total cost of the kit you paid after import duty etc? Assuming you're in the UK. Cheerd
Dave, what's the weight of this complete unit like?
I'm interested in it but still want the ability to 'comfortably' ride also.
I have a lightish bike already.
Cheers
Please tell me the name of the company to get one of these kits
Did your battery come separately from your kit
@@markspringthorpe8755 Yes the battery came a couple of week later, had to pay £30 pound dutyl
fantastic bike. I have my third electric bike now. My first one was at 750watt. Number two was the scooter 5000watt. My latest is an Enduro Leili speed 11.000watt 72volt 48Amp. It's amazing. I've always dreamed of a bike that I now have. Heavy weight over 50 kilos. Have used it on four trips. My God how fun. Have great respect for speed. So I've only been up on gear 3 out of 5. But it does almost 60Km / h in gear 3. Nice video you have. You make a lot of good electric bike movies.

Just found out about your channel, I am glad. I will enjoy and learn a lot from you.
Loving it just built my first 1000w happy days 🙂🎵
Awesome video and thanks for sharing your tips 👍
Great job, I built my own mountain bike after seeing the incredibly cheap running gear on a quite expensive bike, if you look at the cost of the average electric bike and take off the electric component cost the basic bike parts are very cheap, plus most e bikes look like girls bikes, awful aesthetics, this way is so superior, great video, I will check out your kits!
Merry Christmas mate 🎄

How is it?
Looks a great machine, I've built two cheapie's over the last 4 years and would love one with this much poke! Good job!
Info on your cheapies? Would love to build my own
@@spaceforce0 The latest one was a £110 500w 36v front wheel kit from eBay together with a matching battery; cost of both items about £250... fitted to a used 'Trek 2 Navigator'. £100 cheaper than the most basic ready built machine. Only thing I didn't fit was the pedal assist. Not interest in using that. I'm used to a motorbike so using the throttle all the time is no hardship to me. Top speed about 16mph but great up hills. Wouldn't suit everybody but i like it for casual riding now and again..
I built a twin suspension ebike using a 1500w hub kit and it's great for commuting to my work I'm a big guy and it pulls 29.5mph with me on it brilliant 👍🏻

Not necessarily. In the kit you're probably paying £50 for that small piece. I decent esc should provide speed so gradually that the nut shouldn't come lose like that

1500 watts is a good 2+ horsepower.
As a skinny kid of about 150 lb I could hunch down over the handle bars and get a honda trail 90 up to over 50mph and touched 60mph a couple of times (probably had a slight tail wind). Me on the bike with the rack and the irrigation shovel and the mud would have been well over 400 pounds and the engine was rated for a max of 7hp or 5200 watts. (150 lb me was a goodly number of years ago...)
Greetings from Finland!

merry christmas guys
Great video as always, hope you're having a good Christmas!
That’s a great looking bike you built !!!! Looks awesome and as if you bought it that way. Bravo from NY
Tell me if wrong but the rear spokes looks like they are bend because the tork y 1500 w motor may be a solid aluminum wheel is better ?
It just needs a rim that's designed to suit a large hub - the rim can be dimpled or fitted with special eyelets to accommodate the steeper spoke angles, but they don't bother on these cheap crap kits.
What frame should I get for feeling better at 36 mph lol thanks
Thank you for the info mate.I do want to get into it
Middrive motor is better then hub motor. You have more chance of spokes breaking and when that happens wheel gets offbalence and motor falls off and when that happens, you end up carrying motor with one hand walking your bike with other hand back to you car or back to your home. I have converted my fat tire bike installed 750w motor with 200 - 1000w battery. 115 miles on first full charge. How fast you want to go is up to you(so far fastest ridden on trail so far: 30mph). I did over ride safe settings, I got the pass code to over ride safe setting on CZcams video(1-5: 10 - 25 kmh to 1-9: 10 - 99 is kmh). I installed Bafang motor with UPP battery works great
I have over 4000 miles on the kit I bought from you in march no problems I used it most days I've bought another battery and do 100miles a day. The only problem I had was a slip on ice and I broke my wrist. But that was my fault
Hope you get well soon
How do you find the pas, like going up hill and when you start pedalling harder for example?
You should do more ebike vlog and maybe DIY tutorial ebike please! :)
Where I’m from there’s a road that comes off the mountain to town, pure downhill. when I was a kid on just a normal pedal bike I would reach speeds of about 80 - 100km an hour sometimes passing cars. The speed wobble was so bad it felt like the front wheel would just fly off any minute. Can’t wait to get a decent high powered ebike and go down that road again as an adult 😁
how steep was it that you were getting up to 100kmh???
Merry Christmas to you and Sarah
can you use this on MTB trails ?
in the enduro bike ya have, what battery do yoiu have in that one? i ordered myself a 48v 39ah battery
Skinnwalk3r it’s not the torque it’s cos they build the wheels shit in china. It’s worth re-tensioning the wheel yourself or take it somewhere
Too big, it probably won't fit...
Why not get 52v? Or go big on a 72v battery?
That was an amazing video pal, not just for the informative part that was pretty complete, but to ride with you full screen on my TV, was an experience of those videos they use to make to sell GoPro Cameras, you should think about to find some extra profit with them or another camera maker, because the adventure is yours, budy.

would u do a video on DIY replacing the cells in these prebuild battery packs ? dunno if ya viewers would find it usefull.
Power tool batteries use the same high output batteries in ebikes. Alot of people are using laptop batteries not realizing laptop batteries are LOW output and will not make you go fast. If you know what you're doing then power tool batteries will save you hundreds.
@@mattjohnston5807 i only said it because years ago photonicinductions shown a video on how to replace a single cell in a power tool battery pack to save u replacing the whole pack and save u tens of pounds ( £100 for some branded packs )
@@girlsdrinkfeck Right on, thought I'd warn you just in case. I almost got suckered into getting a bunch of laptop batteries lol.
oh no of course ud have to still buy the amp ratings that matches the other cells ,but still cheaper than buying a whole new pack when u can just order a pack of brand new cells and fit them into the same battery pack and its BMS, adding to that, the governments should make battery retailers and manufactures give money back to u if u return the used and damaged cells back to them, like we did with milk bottles and how they now do with plastic bottles ! itll encourage people not to throw batteries away in landfills and the companies will have the materials needed to make more new cells :)
@@girlsdrinkfeck No joke, the amount of thrown away batteries is just crazy. The battery business is a huge business like the oil business though so they want to make money off of people and not give them a good product usually. The only thing holding graphene tech back is the fact it will put alot of people out of business if they started manufacturing graphene batteries. Hopefully lithium batteries will just be an inferior battery soon.

can you get regen braking on this power of hub motor or is it gonna damage the batteries to put this kind of wattage back into the batteries?
Andy, you and Tony(vorteck) are so informative to the ebike world. I wonder if you could answer this question for me. I have a 5000watt dd motor ebike. When charging which do i plug in first, the charger to the ebike or the plug to the socket. I dont want burnt hair lol.? Thanks for your feedback on this. Cheers. Andy. C
Very nice build :)
