I agree he will make a winner there in due time. He will figure it out. Just show up to the games Miami fans please. lol The Stanton trade alone was genius because you knew he couldnt hit 50 homers 120 rbi every year and at that salary and years that contract was so stupid. This is coming from a yankee fan who didnt like the trade from day one. We didnt need another swing and miss monster in that lineup and DJ Lemahieu proved how important that was to have contact and a singles, doubles threat at any time.

Nice to hear Jeter speak more freely than in his playing days, during which he was understandably more measured and careful about what he said. He knew how things could domino out of control. Smart kid. I think Arron Judge can follow in those footsteps to a degree, but he lets a few things 'slip' now and then. Which to me is fine, because he's only speaking from his heart...it's just frustrating when you know media wants to pick something up and run with it so bad.

Good guy with a lot of intangibles however he was a mediocre defensive shortstop at best somewhat overrated. Never won a MVP, batting title, low power numbers. Had limited range and a weak and somewhat erratic throwing arm. He was lucky to have Tino and Tex at first base saving some bad throws. He was also surrounded by great players Bernie Williams, Paul ONeill, Tino and Posada.
However he does have five rings and comported himself well and represented the Yankees with a certain class and elegance of manner. And he is so far the only homegrown Yankee to get 3000 hits 3465 to be exact. So all in all a great Yankee and Congratulations on the HOF.

    • @RyukinJakka

He got robbed of MVP, he made all the defensive plays you needed him to make including the Dive, from the very beginning he was not a power hitter and saying he was lucky to have the teammates he had is kinda stupid seeing as he only has control over what he can do and not them. I agree Vizquel should be in the HOF as his defense was second to none. My point about Jeter is he was not the best shortstop of his era particularly since he did not have the great range and arm at shortstop and did not hit much for power as did Nomar and Arod. He never won an MVP nor led the league in batting average and power numbers. He never really carried the team as much as a Bernie Williams and a Paul O'Neill. As far as I am concerned Bernie Williams was much more deserving to be considered the best Yankee of the so called Jeter period. Just look at Williams' offensive numbers.
That is all I am saying.
