nice work. i think you're great at showing grades in real time. I think you should do more like this. Happy to watch more. Thank you
Thanks for the feedback! Definitely looking to pump out more content like this 🙌🏻
Your videos are really easy to catch up with, thank you for that
Love watching your work
Amazing. Auto subscribed!
this deserves more veiws
thanks for sharing 🤟🏼
Thanks for sharing
Super interesting look I really want to do this now, you are very good at this.
I would just comment on your process about using the qualifier for the highlights, since you have the HDR pallete I think you would have achieved a similar step in less steps, not that is wrong in any way, but it would maybe make a cleaner process overall
Woow man!!
Thank you.
Your friendly neighborhood colorist strikes again. Learnt a lot from this, keep it up!
Great Video Bro
Appreciate it
nice sharing bro, i really need to know, can u share tutorial abt your camera sony slog 3 setting? thank you

Can you help me understand the difference between 1 CST (out: SLOG3 -> REC709) and 2 CST (in:(SLOG3 -> DWG) and out:(DWG -> REC709)?
Okay so the difference in what you mentioned is 1, you're working in SLOG3 colour space. 2, your working in DWG.
And why would you want to make 2 CSTs to work in DWG?
Because DWG is a very wideee (get it?) color gamut to cover all camera log. So the reaction of any adjustment you make in a DWG would be same no matter what camera log it was shot in. In short, you get to use your same node tree template on ALL of your projects.
Side note, I usually don't do 2 CSTs, I just switch my Timeline Colour Space to DWG. There's a page in the Resolve manual that states the Timeline Colour Space happens before the input of the node tree. So I'm already working in DWG from the get-go.
Hope this helps, I'm gonna do a video on DWG but I'm expecting some kickback from the "pros"
@@DannyGan Thanks for replying. I appreciate you very much.
So, in my case, timeline color space: DWG
Case 1:
- Node1: change contrast (+200)
- Node2: CST out: SLOG3 -> REC709
vs
- Node1: change contrast (+200)
- Node2: CST in: SLOG3 -> DWG
- Node3: CST out: DWG -> REC709
Same color image results.
Case 2:
- Node1: change contrast (+200)
- Node2: CST out: SLOG3 -> REC709
vs
- Node1: CST in: SLOG3 -> DWG
- Node2: change contrast (+200)
- Node3: CST out: DWG -> REC709
Color image results vary.
So I don't understand why the difference occurs. Hope you can help me understand, or I hope you can have a video of this case experience.
Sorry my English is not very good, maybe I didn't convey my question properly.
Thank you very much.
Hello. May you make video about color management ? Why rec 709 A on mac? What if I have no mac?
For what another color spaces? Difference between them ? What happen if I choose different/wrong? Or how to understand which one I need at this or that moment?
I think it will be great video!
phew...that's gonna be a long one. But it's definitely a topic I wanna make a video on soon!
@@DannyGan by the way there are too much options also in CST.
Sometimes you do "look" somehere between sometimes at the end.
I think also it will be cool why you do this or that way corrections. But may be Iam noob and everybody understand it exact me 🤭🤭 anyway good luck ! Love all your videos!
Bro plz can u make grade with Black Magic Braw footage and try doing it on outdoor shot with sky visible… it will help me… plz bro…
Thank you for making this! My question is currently Output color Space is Rec.709-A but you CST is Rec 709/Gamma 2.4. Would it be better to keep those the same Changing Output color space to Gamma 2.4?
brother if you give the footage in discription then it will be easy to grade it . i cant found the video on net , atleast not like yours btw great work keep it up love u

Is there a reason why you don't first transfrom SLog to DWG at the start of the pipeline?
will be doing a video on my thoughts of the node-based DWG workflow soon
Great, did you use Rec709a somewhere in the export tab?👍
Nope, I set it all up in my project settings so I don't have to toggle it in the Delivery page
@@DannyGan Perfect, when you mean that you configure it in your project settings do you mean in Color management / Output color space ? Rec 709a ?,,,,thanks !!!!👍👍
Thanks for sharing the color grading video. I'm new in Davinci, may I know whther the color grading MUST be done in video shooting in LUT? If not, how can it be done on video phone with mobile phone?
I think you meant LOG, but no, you don't have to shoot LOG to grade this look. If you're shooting with a phone, chances are it's in a REC.709 color space already, so you can skip the Color Space Transform (CST) step. But you will have less craetive room to push your grade if you're working in a REC.709 color space.
@@DannyGan ic, thanks for the info, will give it a try.
@@bentzcang1447 another way that some may prefer is to cst rec709 -> DWG, do ur grade, then DWG -> rec709
I took a look at her profile. I'm guessing she is also using something like the OFX called Glow.
yup, that's something you can do. My personal preference would be the Bloom effect from Dehancer since I have it, but Glow does the job too!
@@DannyGan Ah yeah, too bad I don't have the money for that right now 🥲
Is there a way this coloring can be done in fcpx
No
thanks! btw, Ayorinn works for Studio King which has similar color grading on his videos.
