    This is by far the absolute best explanation video on EZCAD3's 3D process. Can't thank you enough for sharing this. Great job.

    This is the video I've been looking for. Been struggling with 3d engraving for so long, and while I've figured out a lot, there's still so much i get wrong and don't know how to fix. This has given me the missing pieces. Thank you!

    Wow, there is so little out there and you cover it so in depth. Great video! One of the issues I was havnig was trying to learn it all at once, you have broken down one piece, now I really understand that and I can focus on the engraving part now. thanks.

    Thank you very much for this video. Not a lot of EZCad 3 Content out there in English that explains these concepts well!

    You did a great job with this video training aid. Since I am a newbee with Ezcad3, I am having a difficult time finding anything that can help me understand how it works. I have had this software for 3 weeks and I have not been able to a successful 3d engraving. I hope to be able to now. Thanks

    Excellent content and explanations... please create some more EZ CAD 3 tutorials to help users effectively use 3D lasers.

    Brad, this is hands down the best tutorial I have seen for EZCAD3... I now understand so much more, but feel I'm missing something as I am trying to something that seems simple, just not working... I want to leave a simple shape and have the z adjust to keep text marking in focus over a cone shape to be able to mark a bell with hatched text and not fixture in rotary. what am i missing?

      There is another button for this - "Surface Projection" - it is one of the ones that kind of looks like a sphere with "ABC" on it the 3D panel, but is GREYED OUT in my video. (See around 0:46) To use this - you need a true "3D" controller, and our laser does not have this. It is a slim distinction, a real "3D" laser will allow the controller to move the z-height automatically in-sequence with the galvo. "2.5D" lasers like mine can move the Z like in the video, but can't do it in real-time with a galvo required to engrave a single 2D image on a 3D surface in one layer.

    Great explanation....thanks a lot !
    With the 2.5 Fiber laser (ezcad3) do you have some visible steps between layers (importing stl or depth Map) while Deep engraving on metal??

    Hi Brad! Can you do a example in practical? We have difficult to polish the material after engraving.. you use some special setup?

      @Bkgoodman11  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I use a dremel with some polishing/buffing wheels. Fast and easy - good results

    Hi Brad - thanks for this video it was really helpful. A question, when using an STL and slicing the object into layers - can you assign different hatches to the layers? For example, a deep engrave, a clean and a final colouring hatches.

      Not to my knowledge - let me know you figure out a way!

    in order to cut 3D, what kind of laser equipment is needed? Is the auto Z compulsory?

    • @Bkgoodman11
      @Bkgoodman11  Před 8 měsíci

      Yes - because the laser needs to move the "Z" for each layer it is marking

    Where can I find/ buy a comprehensive software user manual that explains all the projection and other 3d functions and commands of EZ CAD3?

    Hey Brad thank you this was very helpful! I saw your comment on a different video about the surface projection button being grayed out and i was wondering if you ever found a solution to that? It was this video: czcams.com/video/wQS4-ryOdxs/video.html

    • @Bkgoodman11
      @Bkgoodman11  Před 5 měsíci

      From what we understand, you need to have an actual "3D" laser not a "2.5D" laser. There are some differences in the actual controller board. My own speculation is that the 3D boards can actively move the Z-height in sync with the galvo, whereas 2.5D requires the computer to adjust Z heights independently from the galvo. This means 2.5D can engrave individual "slices", but can't just have the laser independently engrave a projection onto an actual contoured surface all by itself - hence, the button is greyed-out :(
