- A few days into my Boundary Waters canoe trip and I had to consider that the forest fire situation could alter or end my canoe trip at any time. I began paying close attention to smoke conditions, winds and weather forecasts as I travelled through an area with several growing wild fires.
I saved this one to watch and I’m glad I did. Love the moose!
I was amazed by how fast this moose was swimming. In the past I have only seen them wading or walking on land.
Excellent! Your videography is getting really quite good. The musical background was exceptional for a sand block musician. Your reports are always a pleasure to watch. Thanks for the extra effort in recording, editing and sharing your experiences.
Thanks for always taking the time to watch and give me input. It is much appreciated.
Lower Basswood falls is really pretty, I lost a Sierra cup on the portage, Crooked lake is fantastic too. love the video!
Yes. I love Crooked. So much to explore there.
Wonderful scenery. I was so captivated I didn't realize the end of the video was approaching. I'll be watching this one several times.
I completely understand. I had so much footage it was hard to choose what to include. I would get lost in the images and forget that my purpose was to edit, not sit at the computer and re-live every recorded moment.
Magnifique…great images!
Merci Pierre.
Great paddle adventure!
Yes it was. And hopefully more adventures to come. Thanks for watching. 😊
@@HermitsOutdoorAdventures A pleasure...I am really enjoying your videos and adventures.....being a canoeist/camper myself....thanks!
Great episode and great casting skills. You should consider adding the Buffalo River to your list of to do’s. It’s a 210 mile national river in Arkansas. They have much smaller lengths as well. Excited for part 3.
I hadn’t ever considered a southern trip. Have you paddled this river?
@@HermitsOutdoorAdventures The Buffalo is a great river, but unless you plan a Spring trip, you should do the Current River in Missouri which is spring fed, the Buffalo can get pretty low. If you start to wilt at 75 degrees, come and do a winter trip. No portages, so you can load up and get out of the snow. Rent a boat, or bring a Royalex hull,. Kevlar doesn't last here. Our rivers are shallow and the bottoms are covered with the stuff they made arrowheads out of. They are beautiful, clean, clear and the heart of our Ozarks.
@@allenwilson5235 thanks for the info. Fantastic!
The jigging commentary was hilarious! You captured some beautiful scenes. I've paddled around Quetico, but never Boundary Waters. May have to visit one day! Cool that both parks share the border. (Despite the concern with the fires, certainly adds an interesting element to the trip!)
Glad to bring some extra humour to your day. 😂
I had to laugh, hubby and I jig all the time and I often read a book while I fish!!😄 I am a Canadian also living in Michigan!! We love your videos!! We live in a border town and I still work in Canada actually! We have cabin in mid Michigan, love the north!!!!
😂 Thats awesome. I am laughing so hard about you reading and jigging. Are you reading and jigging on the Great Lakes or a smaller lake like Houghton?
awesome
Those boots also a favorite of mine. When they came out with the canvas it was a game changer. Who makes the cargo pants you’re wearing?
I totally agree with you on the canvas top bean boots. They are a game changer. The green cargo pants are from First Lite. Expensive but the most comfortable, lightweight and durable ones I have owned.
be safe with those fires.
👍❤
Hey crystal panda1. If there was a prize for always being first you would win it. 😊
Ha, could you get better weather??? That was on amazing morning, you got so many beautiful shots, good job! What canoe are you paddling?
I am paddling a Northstar Magic. Straight running and fast. And yes I definitely had amazing weather.
Which lakes did you cover?
First video I entered Mudro and explored the lakes in that chain up to Horse. Second video went up the Horse River and explored the nooks and crannies of Crooked. The third video is yet to come so I will say no more. 😉
Is that canoe a Magic or Northwind Solo?
Its a Magic 😊
@@HermitsOutdoorAdventures Nice! I'm ready to purchase my first solo canoe but I'm torn between the Wenonah Advantage and the Magic. I've been paddling Wenonah's for 40 years but I really like that Magic. If only I could afford both 😂. From your video the Magic sure appears to handle the wind and waves well. I love that Crooked Lake area, my favorite route. Great videos! Thanks for sharing.
