They have a bond that most people will never experience in their lifetime. Just because you get married, doesn't mean you will be truly loved and cared for unconditionally. Face it, most people ARE NOT getting married AND staying married in this day and age. So major props to them.

Katie Owens I sure am, living abroad and have been dealing with "Tom Boys' (lesbian, man partner name) for a very very long time, it's very open but not without problems, "Many". The states is touchy feely and hush hush when it comes to supporting same sex unions but to live in another land where it's been open for decades is a wake up call and reality check. Basically it gets old dealing with these girls, in-laws, neighbors it's not some sort of fad here and it's something you should seriously take a second look at if your in a relationship like this, it's not fulfilling, it's a selfish lifestyle and later on it becomes a very agonizing lifestyle with no money no man, no kids or if kids (in-law, she has kids) but no man to take home the bacon anymore as they age, they end up back with their mom and dad or other family members, so basical not much family to support decades of careless lifestyle but hey if your in the states then social services might be able to pay your bills as you age, who knows, sorry for the frank discussion but lesbians and their female counter parts "Tom Boys" are nothing new in the area of the world I live in.
