Full Tutorial to Create Your First Canvas Course | Step-By-Step Guide to Teaching in Canvas

- Make your first Canvas class and set up your Canvas account in less than 30 minutes! I assume nothing! Learn about the Canvas Layout, Canvas Settings, how to set up the Dashboard, and build your first canvas class. You will add a Canvas module, upload your syllabus as a file, add Canvas pages, build a Canvas Quiz, and create a Canvas Discuss Board. At the end you will be ready to publish your first Canvas course!

What is the software you are using to record you and your screen at the same time? I think this would be helpful to me in making instructional videos for my students.
Hi Melissa! I’m so glad this video was helpful. I use Camtasia to record my videos for CZcams, which is great, but a little pricey. I’ve been using Screencastify for years for the homework videos I create for my students. It’s very reasonable and it records you and your screen. Good luck with all!!

What does Paperview mean when a student submits an assignment?
Great question! "Paper View" means the student typed their response directly in as text (it should be called Text Entry in my opinion!). Unfortunately, there are no annotation options for this submission type.
Which of our videos would you suggest I follow this one with? I see one is "How To Add Assignments in Canvas"
I would recommend “How To Add Assignments”, followed by “Setting Up Your Gradebook”. After that, look for my video on creating quizzes and how to grade. You got this!!
