Hey Angie... Your videos are awesome and are a huge help for me as I move into the education space. I'd like to know if there is any way for me to assign a fitness assessment that my students have to record and post? An EX is i want them to perform as many pushups as possible in 60 seconds and I would like them to record and submit. Are there any options to do that?
Your best bet would be a quiz, that you can classify as a “Graded Survey” when you’re editing it. Your students will get full credit for posting. You can even give them multiple attempts so they can keep track of their progress.

Yes, it is, and the significance level, alpha. If your alpha was set at .05, our p-value of .02 is smaller so we can conclude there’s a dependent relationship. We would reject Ho in this case.

If a student starts, but does not finish, an assignment; does it save their work if they exit?
I think so? You can try it and see for sure. Turn on Student View (upper right) and start the assignment. Close it without submitting then reopen it. Let me know!!

how to get dot product?
Desmos matrix doesn't have the dot product operator . . . at least not yet. They are constantly updating their platform. Let's hope the dot product is added soon!
Thank you for this resourceful video. After updating the grading Grading Scheme, how can I apply it to the assessment. For example, I have a final exam in the course and I would like my students to score a minimum of a 'B' grade or score 80% in the assessment. Those who do not score 80% will be required to retake the exam until they score 80%. Those who score 80% or above, will receive a certification of completion. But my challenge is activating ( or applying the grading scheme in the assessment). If you have a video clip that shows how to apply the scheme, kindly share.
Such a good question! The way you can set a minimum score in Canvas is by not letting the student move on to the next module until they meet the score, 80% in your case. Click the 3 dots in the heading of the next module to edit, then click on +Prerequisite. I'm adding this topic to my upcoming videos list. Thanks for asking!

Dear Angie, what do you mean by the warning of students posting or mailing their duedate?
Most students are honest, but . . . when a student is allowed to post a url for their assignment (the web address for a GoogleDoc is a good example), their work may be unfinished or blank at the time they post the url. They can continue working on the GoogleDoc after the deadline. I will often require students to save their work as a pdf and only allow file uploads. Good question--I hope this helps!

Usually for a stats class, but I like to use scatter plots in Algebra 1. Find some good paired data, have students create the scatter plot then estimate the equation of the line. Really makes “y=mx+b” come to life for the students. And…you’re welcome!!

Hi Melissa! I’m so glad this video was helpful. I use Camtasia to record my videos for CZcams, which is great, but a little pricey. I’ve been using Screencastify for years for the homework videos I create for my students. It’s very reasonable and it records you and your screen. Good luck with all!!
