@@Mox3712 That was for the race officials to decide, not the the 14. After all, just like he said in the end of the race while talking to the 11 "it was unintentional", well, the events on the turn could also be unintentional. But the 14 wanted immediate revenge so decided to behave like a tool.
That was Dennys getting spun out again
At turn 7, you can hear the crew chief tell the spotter "Say 'we owe him a stop and go penalty.'" It's not directed to Briscoe because of how the crew chief said it ("Say we"). Then the spotter had to switch to Channel 2 to tell Briscoe, but at that point, Briscoe was on the bumper of Hamlin, and they couldn't do anything about it. So Briscoe was telling the truth

Hamlin deserved it never liked him anyway so I'm behind Brisco he did the right thing NASCAR screwed him over
Listening to the radio, I guess Briscoe was telling the truth about not wrecking him on purpose. Its odd though because if it were me, I would have wrecked Hamlin on purpose. Even if it was on purpose, it would be totally justifyable to me and I'd still be a Briscoe fan.

You know, I find it funny people called it payback. Briscoe over ran the turn as it was, but lets just say he didn't. The 11 couldn't move to the right any more because the 16 was forcing him down there. So if anything it was the 16 who ultimately ran Briscoe off the track and Briscoe's "Payback" is what gave the 16 the win......

So how do you call what he did payback when it allowed the driver responsible to win? And I'm not a fan of any of them. In fact I'm a Elliott fan and can't stand Denny. That's why I'm not too disappointed it happened to Hamlin, but it still wasn't Hamlin's fault that Briscoe ended up in the grass.

Great end to a race dominated by the 5. I was watching Briscoe the entire race. Who's complaining? Give 'em something to talk about.. Since 14 did get forced off track the penalty was debatable.
Denny only force him off the track because of the oil and speedy dry that made Denny's car slip left

I think the reason he got the penalty was because he gained position by cutting the track even though he was kinda forced off, if he rejoined in 2nd or 3rd I don't think they would have penalized him
So according to this Chase was informed of the stop and go penalty BEFORE he spun out Denny
He was getting the info as he was turning him. That was crew to spotter first. You hear him say switching to channel 2 to tell the driver. That is when it got to chase. But there was nothing he could have done different. He was already in corner and committed to what he was doing.

The spotter wasn't able to tell chase in time, there are two channels, one for the crew that the driver does not hear, and one that the driver uses, the spotter siad he was switching to channel 2 which means Chase did not hear, therefore it was unintentional

Hamlin’s spotter gave him great information. Told Hamlin not to worry about Briscoe as he got penalized
I didn’t hear any contact between the 11 and 14 in turn 1. It looked like Briscoe just turned left for some reason. Briscoe had a chance to lift and lose just 5 spots as opposed to 25.
Either way, Hamlin was having the same thing done to him by Allmendinger, so he didn’t have a choice.
I think this is a situation like Gordon/Bowyer at Martinsville where it was really Newman’s fault when we all thought it was Bowyer’s.

As a HMS Fan, I thought it was funny as heck to see Hamlin get turned by a driver with a penalty. Hamlin do always be wrecking the Hendrick boys. Hamlin shoved Elliot, Martinsville 2017, Hamlin decides to be a maniac wreck multiple cars collecting Jimmie, Martinsville 2017, Hamlin slammed into Jimmie, Martinsville 2016, Hamlin spun Jimmie, Charlotte 2018, Hamlin spins collecting Gordon, Atlanta 2015, Hamlin spins collecting Gordon Daytona 2013. It's not just HMS either though. He's wrecked multiple other drivers over the past years.

I don't know about other people, but to me it looks like Briscoe was braking later than Hamlin going into the other corners that lap, closed up to him on entry to the corner as Hamlin was braking or checking up and just caught the 11's bumper the wrong way like he said. So I don't think it was intentional.

What you heard was the crew only channel, which teams use to relay information or crew chief provide orders that the driver doesn't need to hear. That's why the spotter says he switching channels to tell the driver about the penalty.

I'm wondering if Matty D made contact with Briscoe from behind and turned him into the grass. Briscoe said over the radio he was "pushed" off the race track. At the very instant Matt appeared to make incidental contact from behind, Briscoe veers of the track. Not a Denny fan, but still.
It does appear the 21 may have gotten into Briscoe for the final push into the grass, but Briscoe was already going to be at least partially in the grass. The 16 pushed the 11 into Turn 1 pushing him wide and forcing Briscoe wide. Then the 21 may have hit Briscoe to veer him left fully into the grass..

I was at the race, Denny was looking for Chase and he went in too fast, so he locked up his brakes and hit Kyle. Then he came back and hit Chase after he got spun around in the right direction.

I think it was half Chase not paying enough attention to what he was doing when he was told he needed to stop in turn 10 and just hit the 11 on accident or was pissed that he was shoved in the grass and got penalized.
Either way I say the penalty needed to be looked at post race because that wasn't a blatant cheat since he really didn't actually gain anything from it since he was right behind the 11 anyways, so the penalty needed to be reviewed post race.
Not sure what else he could have done differently I mean I'd be pissed too honestly, the official who penalized me would need to be held in a heavily secured bunker.

So basically the 16 was the reason Chase ended up in the grass (well actually Chase was the reason, but we will say he got forced down there). So really all Chase did was allow the guy who caused it to win the race.....not so much of a payback if you ask me.

The 11 had his wheel slightly turned to the left and was on old tires. Briscoe was setting up to run him deep into the corner. He unintentionally wrecked the 11. 14 had a great run that’s all, for the penalty… I remember a 3 car running in the grass to pass two cars only for it to be on his career highlight reel

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Exactly right in every way. I was arguing with a guy yesterday that if you replace Hamlin with Elliott, Briscoe would be getting death threats online today. Because it’s a Gibbs driver that was turned though, it’s all ok for most fans.

And I don't really see how Denny's racing equates to what Briscoe did. Denny races people hard, and I understand how that can rub some fans wrong but that's different then just racing someone dirty.....wrecking someone intentionally AFTER your receive a penalty and know you lost isn't hard racing its just dirty.
Furthermore, I never heard Denny's driving labeled dirty until Martinsville in October of 2017 when Chase fans got all pissy. Ever since then they've had it out for Denny and it's pretty ridiculous considering that they labeled Denny dirty for wrecking Chase in Turn 3, but LITERALLY CHEERED CHASE for wrecking Brad IN THE SAME SPOT just A LAP before the incident with Denny.
In the end the hypocrisy in fanhood that exists sometimes is what makes sports fun...it gives us something to debate, and at the end of the day we can hate or love a move just based on if we like a guy or not. Fanhood truly is a beautiful thing!!

Denny didn’t “get what he deserves.” And i am by no means a Denny fan quite the opposite actually I was happy he got dumped because it helps Larson my boy. Anyway, Denny was 3 wide into that turn the 16 was to his outside forcing Denny’s hand he didn’t door slam the 14 off track the 14 jerked the car hard left and cut the whole corner, there were several drivers put into the 14’s position hell just about every restart there was Larson was in that position I believe on the 2nd to last one and backed out of it. Denny didn’t push him and even if he had it wasn’t his fault, chase came back to him and in my eyes saw a playoff spot in front of him and turned him maybe didn’t mean to spin him but wasn’t going to let him off easy.
I mean, if I was Briscoe I’d just go like I wasn’t penalized and make them do their worst.
Denny definitely got what he deserved. He pushed briscoe off the track. Briscoe turned left so he wouldn't wreck half of the damn field. Plus he gave the position back once he got back on track. This wasn't the first time denny has forced someone off the track. Briscoe just happened to be the one that shoved it right back up denny's ass.

Wow, Lotta part time Nascar denny guys here. Look at real replay. Denny blocked both cars in corner, ran chase into grass. So he got bumped. Danny knew what happened. He's not as mad as some of you. Get over it. Nooo I'm not a chase fan. I'm honest about tht was a racing deal. Period. Gt over it.
He never took a position after avoiding a hazard/wreck... it was good driving to clear the track like that. How was that a penalty? I would have wrecked Denny too.
So what will NASCAR do? He obviously heard about the penalty before he hit Hamlin... As a Hendrick fan I don't have much love for Denny, but he got screwed

Not really. The spotter told the crew chief and then the crew chief turned the radio to channel 2 to tell Chase briscoe. As he was telling chase, Chase was already on his bumper.

Not to beat a dead horse, but all drivers on a regular basis get pushed off the track or into the wall but rarely with a penalty. Secondly, arm chair drivers don't realize how fast these guys are driving and with the race on the line emotions run high. It's all good. It's racing!

Sure it went on all day. The track is set up this way to encourage a rumble. I’m beginning to enjoy road racing more than the big ass ovals.
Looked to me as if the 11 raised him cleansed the 14 didn’t get forced off the track, looked to me like he ran out of talent and his crew chief instructed him to dump him. Same as Tony Stewart used to do so it’s not surprising. But that’s hillbilly bumper cars for you 😂

This, for me, was the most glorious moment in nascar this entire season.
I was literally up out of my chair, screaming and punching the air in celebration.
Not gonna be a penalty first of all the crew chief was talking to the front stretch spotter while chase was on a different channel with the backstretch spotter. Hence why the crew chief had to change channels by the time all that happen it was too late he was already in contact of the 11 bumper. Yes he was forced off the track cause obviously Hamlin wasn't giving him room to stay on the racing surface and 2 he wouldn't be able to check up without causing an accident behind him. Once your on a different channel you can only here from that person on that channel obviously everyone's used a walkie talkie
They already confirmed that Chase not only heard the message before he spun Hamlin, but even replied to it. The message you hear on the video was broadcasted on both channels.
Either way he did serve his penalty in turn 10 and served his pit box penalty for turning the 11 so case closed shouldn't be any more penalties otherwise what's the point of all that he served for penalties

Denny earned it in turn 1 . Made it very clear how he was gonna race anyone on that last lap. So he got got.

Not a Denny Hamlin fan, but he's right. Situational awareness. What did Briscoe think was going to happen? Did he REALLY believe that letting Hamlin in front of him was going to relieve the pressure of NASCAR to penalize him? Just doesn't make sense, honestly. The second you cut through the grass, whether it was intentional or not, you KNEW a penalty was coming, and not a 'let Hamlin by' penalty. As for wrecking Hamlin... while watching the race I didn't think it was on purpose. After hearing him whine that he got pushed off the racetrack... maybe it was intentional...

14 wasn't going to pass hamlin in turn 1 and then wrecked him. That is how I see it anyways

That the proble. Since none of the drivers have a vested interest in their cars, they drive em like that. Hamlin knew he wasn't goint to make the turn so he used Briscoe as a guardrail. Then when Briscoe spins him out Hamlin can't understand why. In the end, both went from front to the rear, where their talents placed them.
That is called racing. The black #3 did a lot of that. Or, did we forget?

Chase knew he had a penalty and still spun him frankly he should be suspended for a couple races. If you watched the race you would also know that 16 clearly forced 11 to stay up and force the 14 into the grass. The 14 weak excuse of “I didn’t know” is absolute bs.

Ya you might want to watch all the replays before yapping. Looks like Denny was getting hit from behind shoving him up the corner. And I'm no Denny fan either. Chase dive bombed into the corner he was probably not going to make it anyway. He just got lucky that Denny ran high and looked as of he ran Chase of the track.

On the restart I knew Larson wasn't going to challenge Hamlin. Larson didn't, and the number one car knew it, but he was not close enough to get to Larson who was backing up the field. That was the start of it. So Larson may have a tough future ahead of him.

It's actually exactly what he said happened, he was literally trying to move Hamlin as they told him he had a penalty. I think he was going for a "NASCAR clean" move but underestimated how much faster he was than Hamlin through that switchback

He was forced into the grass not voluntarily drove down there. He was penalized for improper reentry onto the track.

I like the kid but he is wrong. To get respect he needs to show some. Especially to someone like Denny!! And it wasn't the 11 who put him in the grass. If u know anything about racing you get it. And honestly I think Denny went toi easy on him post race! I probably would've gone Mike Tyson on him but that's me!! Yes, I tend to have "anger problems" towards stupidity in other racers, According to my wife anyways!!!!

From what I saw the 14 got shoved into the grass because 11 was getting a push from the 16 and couldn’t slow down quite enough but when the 14 came out of the grass it looks like he waited for the 11 to pass and gave the spot back then the 14 races him hard and just got into the back of him it’s just hard racing from the way I see it but still he cut the track but was forced but he still should’ve known about the penalty that’s obvious that he had one he just waited for the spotter to tell him

It’s a ‘he said she said’ situation unfortunately basically there isn’t a way to really settle this because it could go both ways
