  • A monologue from Strawberries in January - Rona Munro's version of Evelyne de la Cheneliére's 1999 play, Des Fraises en Janvier.
The play was originally written in Quebec French, but Rona Munro created her version with Scottish characters in mind, so I decided to have some fun with one of my all-time FAVOURITE accents - a wee bit of Scottish.
*Disclaimer: for the Scots out there, I know there is no one Scottish accent, just as there’s no one British accent or one South African accent or one American accent. This is just a fun (and slightly exaggerated) take on some of those general Scottish sounds we all know and love.*

i've been using this to get into character for a couple of NPCs in a D&D campaign I'm running. the performer's tribute of this monologue is fucking compelling. The accent has really got some range to it too. Thank you for this and for the sam wise routine. A-Grade stuff.
