Such an interesting video. Thank you for sharing your history and your thoughts about this special day. We appreciate this.
@ 4:56 you mention going to visit the Veterans with your classmates. So touching that you congratulated them, brought them food and gifts.
Most heartfelt of all is that you listened to them attentively. That is such an action of care!
I'm sure the Veterans would have loved your care and attention. 💝
A very important and moving event for everyone.
@6:11 speaking of the tragic, immense losses of more than 27 million and yes, every death is a tragedy in itself for each person and their loved ones. 😞
    Irreplaceable loss 😓
Incredible Siege of Leningrad and The Battle of Stalingrad ... incredible suffering and even more incredible endurance and victory.
All of the country suffered and endured in various ways and came out of it in victory. (Victory - the word sounds "glorious" but sometimes it's simply a relief.)
This history has left lasting scars upon the psyche of your country and it shapes your future too.
Interesting that you find yourself with a "middle ground feeling".
It's good to look at this from various aspects and weigh up the good, with the bad and the awkward with the victorious.
    This simply reflects real life.
Many people speak in "b&w" terms or even of "gray areas" ... however real life is filled with every imaginable colour.
There's a multitude of ways to feel about issues.
Can I say something as an outsider, looking at your history and your current situation in world history?
Whether or not we agree with the politics of the struggles of soldiers and other people related to c0nflicts - those individuals are just trying to do what they can in those terrible situations. They don't have much personal choice - if any.
Patriotism makes a choice for some people and necessity makes choices for others - and the law forces those who don't want to act.
Folks in cozy armchairs can criticize - but have they ever been put into such a predicament?🤨
It was a necessity for your country to act in that era.
If those brave people hadn't done anything, the n@z1s would've taken over and the world owes the USSR a debt of gratitude - which it has not paid.😭
It's shameful that history is forgotten and n@z1s are openly supported ... again! 😱
    We offer heartfelt, sincere gratitude.
Our families had direct ancestors who fought n@z!s.
Our relatives would be turning in their graves to see what is going on now and the disgusting way that Rus is treated (by the west).
You also mention the attitude of your govt - we have opposite feelings. We are astounded at the comparatively small amount of pr0pagand@ !!!
The Rus govt is restrained and dignified - reserved compared to the circus in the West.
We have never suffered what your folks endured, yet the psycho-babble here is off the scale.
I also understand about the need to review historical mistakes - it is necessary to try to avoid future mistakes.
But you can also get lost and tied up in details that can't be changed. What's done is done.
The West is full of trying to rewrite history and endless arguments about it.
Be Grateful for Those who gave their Tomorrow for our Today.
Thank you so much for the video.
We will check the links too.
Blessings to you & yours and your wonderful country, today and always. 💕🙏💝

Thank you so much for your comment. For me it’s very heartbreaking to know that in the West and USA some people don’t know about what Soviet solders did for the peace during WWII. It’s very important to know and remember. I can’t imagine what our world could be like if soviet solders didn’t sacrifice their life for peace. That war influenced on our people and on Russia’s politics too (in my opinion).
Propaganda inside of Russia is very strong. But people still can get other information too if they want.

@@IloveRussian Thank you for your reply. It's 💔for me too - the ignorance is astounding, but once again it's due to pr0pagand@ and historical facts are hidden or explained away. Depending on how things work out in the next few years, there just might be more awareness in the West. At this stage it's hard to imagine!
      But it's not impossible.
Pr0pagand@ inside of Rus, that's understandable, especially given the times we live in.
Whereas out here, it's all for the benefit of a select few - our pr0paganda is over-the-top now.
That is the sad tale of history ... same as it ever was!
It is good for people to source info, check out different opinions and ideas - be wary though!
      Don't "buy" what we're "selling" !!!
      Russia can strong and unique.
Thank you for making the time and effort to create language and culture lessons. This is a good way to promote understanding between peoples.
      It is appreciated 🙏

Joachim von Ribbentrop said that there were 3 reasons why Germany failed in WWII: Soviet army resistance, American weapons and British aviation.
