That HC Sunshine > China > Rider to be found at 2:14:43. As Heath points out, transition to China is bonkersville.
Agreed, Garcia's guitar sounds so sweet and tight.
Best one ever in my opinion.....the magic blend.....so smooth...
better than that its perfect
I keep a photo of my love next to where I sit, and since she's passed away, hearing them go into They Love Each Other, maybe it was the way they played it, or some kind of magic, but for the first time, in I think maybe, ever… I looked at her photo with joy and hopefulness, instead of sorrow. Something happened during that song. Like the lights turned on, and the colors are bright again. What a beautiful set.
Thanks for posting this for us! 💞
Woo hoo a fresh show from WoS! Making supper has just got much more fun here in the UK ❤❤ and OMG, Box of Rain to boot, wow 🎉!
Awesomeness as usual. As Bill Graham used to say... "They aren't the best at what they do, they are the only ones that do what they do!"
Thanks WoS ⚘️💀❤️
Oh boy, I couldn't stand 🤬that back-handed "compliment", it bothered me every time I went into/ or by Winterland (it was painted on the side of the building)!
I.E... they weren't the best at something that only they did ....🙄
@@youeyeball It was and is just a statement of truth. Some nights they sucked, or at the least one in seven couldn't carry a tune. And generally two or three would at one point or another throughout the night also get lost in the sauce. Never the less they always trooped onward. We loved them with their flaws, they didn't try, or pretend to be perfect, they knew they were human and so did we. The band and the audience accepted each others character defects, and we tried to just get along. And on those nights they shone, they shone like diamonds reflecting the brilliance of the sun, and so did we!

incredibly tight , bill the drummer and captain trips give masterclasses on controled time and controlled demolition , respectively. thanks for posting this outstanding audio documentation , it's a w o w !!!

51:06 Never knew that existed. Quite the nod to Minnsenotans. Thanks for this concert, you.
A fantastic description of this show from Evan S. Hunt...love this..."I had seen them 10 days earlier at Maples; nestled in the front row center balcony. There were numerous sound problems at that show, as there were May 26 when witnessed Kezar, 39 steps from stage dead center.
It took the Grateful Dead and the Kwipment Krew a while to get used to this new monster system, obviously, but doubly obvious was how supreme the band sounded once every thing was dialed in. Every note from Loose Lucy on is sheer and dramatic perfection of both performance and reproduction.
Listen to the Stella Blue. Stellar-electro-dead.
The sound whispers and breaths pure multi-tiered harmonic. And then it just falls off and out into.
El Paso. Gunplay! Bertha Sound Recapture is jewel-studded, pearlescent! This sound and definition of the WOS is reminiscent in every venue of the way the music sounded whether you were right up front or sitting behind a post. The WOS sound would follow you around a corner; it even sounded good in the bathrooms! This is a resplendent and accurate representation of just how good that evil Wall of Sound sounded... And at break they played the Association: Cherish.
They Love Each Other the one you love to haight. and into
Playin. Much fined gold. Tasmanian Devil burrowing in an out of palm tree trunks...with: a smile....
The Reprise is the crispestly-torched grind knuckles into cheese grater.
Cuts into Truckin' abruptly. Second Set. Goes on and on and then ends...abruptly...into Jimmy Row and despite the snap end of tape it dovetails sveltely into Big River. Johnny Cash as Johnny wishes he sounded. LOL!
Jerry defies logic and lets his strat move exponentially upward filling every whitless demand! And then, an equipment malfunction into..
Donna Jean singing You Ain't Woman Enough and she pulls it off with gusto and aplomb.
Ahhhh, Here It Comes! The profound Grateful Dead:
HC Sunshine>China Cat>Rider. Jerry goes metallic in GDTRFB and after that it's all cutting heads, all the way around.
From loose to Lucy to Truckin' an' through to Casey Jones this is picture perfect Grateful Dead displayed in the full richness of their glory.
An amazing, flaggergastingly spectacular capture of the new monster and all of it's twisting heads."
Great Setlist thanks again Wall of Sound!!🍀💙💥 Cheers!! 🍺
Thanks WoS. I am pleased to report that after applying my tried and true, failsafe NFA/GDTRFB principle, I have rated this performance a 9.5/10. There has only been one perfect 10.0 and that is the 4/5/71 show. Well done, Sir. The princple is based on my strong belief that the quality of a show can be clearly anticipated by the quality of its NFA/GDTRFB. Once again it has worked a charm. If you want me to say what happens when there is no NFA/GDTRFB I can only say it is every man (woman) for himself (herself). Patent Pending.
Whoooooo hoooooo!! So stoked , baking in the kitchen listening to this!!!! W.O.S. You made baking 🧁💨 so much more fun!!! 😁 Grazie ❤❤✌️

Thanks! This recording is epic! Especially how certain things are isolated at times. Had Jerry Church this morning and now this! What a beautiful day!
My first Dead concert
Super Groovy Grateful I Am! ✌
Great score on my tried and true NFA test! Well done WoS!
🌞High energy show! 🥳🏝🌠
00:48:11 🌻Incredible beauty 🥰
01:35:43 Just listen how they drop from the song into the jam. It's almost they fall asleep while playing and get into dream mode. I love how this feels! 🌈 They just entered a different dimension of music with endless possibilities. So inspiring! So good! Wow!! 😝
01:52:15 💥 🎸Just hear how they rock! 🌟 ✨ ⚡ Had to listen to this three times to get all the goodies!! 🏄♂🤸♂ One of the best truckin'!!

02:21:57 🪄🎊 Wooow! Just hear how they drop into Rider!! Sweetness overload!! 💐😄

Missed the show... grew up in St Paul; in 1973 lived in a hippie commune in St Paul, but spent a lot of time on the road hitch hiking, including to San Francisco - meanwhile the Dead were back in St Paul & me in Frisco! Oh well - play the cards your dealt & move on.
Thank you, Wall of Sound! All of your posted shows are of worthy high quality sound and source. Keep it going.
Thanks, again. For all the grate shows.
feeling a frisson tear through my heart with this! at the time I had just turned 17 on the siberian prairie a couple hundred miles west of St Paul and hadn't a clue -- wouldn't see the Dead until 1978 in Tempe, Arizona; meanwhile the last 50 years have treated me well enough, in no small part because of the light that is the Dead! Thanks boys, meant the world, means the world, always will! Goin Down the Road Feelin Bad!
This Playing in the band jam...everything you love about Jerry on the guitar ❤❤
A fresh one !!!!
The isolated "Tracks?" are pure gold . Thanks and More please !
Killer show & sound. Thank you.👍🕺🌌
Man!!! That "Loose Lucy" just made my day! That is awesome!
Thanks WoS!!!
Great Show !What an Incredible Morning Dew👍❤️👍
February in St Paul. Brrr 🥶. Great show.
Loving this
Happy Daze ❤
That 1st set has so many of my faves!!
Super Duper!!!
Phenomenal! A sneaky, very good show! No banger d stars or deep gel head tearing, deep space other ones but just straight X factor, easy to sleep on heady liquid dead
Thanks, man! Sounds like the Bonkersville Band is bonkin'!
73 TLEO are so sweet I cant enjoy the revised version in the Dead or JGB.
I love you ❤️and miss ya!!!! Be safe Stagger💨💨💨❤️🍄✨✌️⚡️💀

Love you too Rose❤️

Here Comes Sunshine - > China / Rider ✌️😎
Woahhh Wave that Flag! DONNA on Ain't Woman Enough slaps hard
Watch the feds, dig the dead!
My first live show, was the next night the 18th. At the amphitheater in Chicago. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I don't think so.. makes you wonder how they made it February weather and all
this sunshine transition to china cat is bonkersville
Spot on, amazing stuff
Dancing along❤❤😂❤😂
aye a hometown show! I don’t think the dead liked Minnesota very much.. neither do I!
Well! No hotdish fer you! Cripes anyhow!
@@tomlund4951 I’ll never give up Tater tot hot dish
@@Enriqueshockwave587 Well!
Thanks. The tapes don't lie. From 1971-1974 the band and Jerry in particular changed. It was obvious. Jerry slowed down and wasn't as fluid, energetic and exciting. Those incredibly amazing moments became fewer and fewer. I'm glad I saw them in 1972.
😅😂🤣 You're funny! 😭
You’re dead wrong but that’s cool too
These interminable pauses! Thanks for leaving in the problems
They love each other is probably my favorite version...everything is so tight...I think I can speak for some when I say the dead in the 70s were on point...✌️
I looking for a whooo Saturday night. Like a smooth wooooo anybody got ideas
😂😅
Well Promised Land was a huge fail
A three minute "blink or you miss it" for almost every show Bob opened with in 73. 🙄
Don't blame the drugs! 😅
