I love cooking and baking and I am a hoarder when it comes to cookbooks but I was honestly finding that I rarely actually reached for the cookbooks I own and 95% of the time went straight to Pinterest or Google to find recipes that I liked.
I would then print them out, make the recipe, the piece of paper would get destroyed, and then it would end up in the trashcan. Six months later, I would think about this recipe and go to make it, and then not be able to find it.
Moral of that all, I was determined to come up with a recipe organization system that worked for all of my Pinterest and Google recipes. I also wanted something that could grow with me and that would be just as practical now as when I'm 60. Like as stupid as this sounds, I would love to pass it down to my daughter one day!
I have now been organizing my recipes in a binder for over a year and it's AMAZING. It's super easy to create so I am going to walk you through and show you exactly how I organized my recipe binder and some tips and tricks I learned along the way.

This is a great idea, my Mom did this for me and my other brothers and sisters she was an artist and drew cartoon characters on all the recipe pages! we loved it.... it becomes such a family keepsake.
That’s exactly what my wife did years ago. And as you mention, she updates them from time to time with helpful notes - even things like specific pots or pans to use with the recipe so we know everything fits! Great idea for a gift!
