The Hagen 497 is very similar to the Siegfried, the body is fast the same and only the bell diameter is 48 cm and not 50 cm. The material is a little bit light and is more easy to have an equal sound. The Siegfried for me is more rich of armonics and more flexible. When we worked on the Siegfried we researched a tipical Hirsbrunner sound but larger and easy to play like a Cc contrabass tuba. The result is the Siegfried is more American than the Hagen that is more German stile!
