I found myself, alone with him in a hospital elevator. I looked at him, a real tough guy hero of mine, in the movies. He was crying.....I began to tear up. I knew the love of his life, was dying upstairs.... no words were spoken. We just walked out. I had to stop, and compose myself. RIP WITH JILL....forever.
His third wife was English and yes they were very close. I corrected my earlier comment that she cared for him at the end of his life when in fact she died years earlier. It must of been something I misread somewhere.
I think “Once Upon a Time in the West” was the best western in my opinion.Lots of rough looking bad guys and the best Henry Fonda !Charles what a legend!
I love that film! Bronson was terrific, as was the stellar cast of Claudia Cardinale❤, Jason Robards, and yes, an evil Henry Fonda! A Sergio Leone masterpiece. Superb bit parts by Woody Strode and Jack Elam, too. That opening scene at the train station is iconic. 👍
I always liked him as an actor. He was great in The Great Escape & I really liked him in the superb House of Wax, he was mute in it but he "spoke" volumes. He is incredible in The Mechanic & The Death Wish films, that was an enjoyable franchise. Charles was a devoted husband to Jill Ireland. There's certainly a lot to like about this self made man.
Was blessed to work in 4 of his films starting in 87 with Messenger of Death. We played catch on set quite often. He was quiet. He did not like a whole many types of people. He was good to me. I grew up back East and wasn't a Hollywood plastic fake. R.I.P. Charlie and his beautiful wife Jill.
Yeah he worked with my uncle Hector Morales in the flick “From noon till three” Bronson seemed to have an affinity towards doing movies with Mexicans at the time So my uncle fit right in lol 😂….
Bronson was an amazing screen presence. I like him in just about anything. From the noir film Crime Wave, to The Dirty Dozen, through Once Upon a Time in the West to Hard Times, etc, he never disappointed. A film that often gets overlooked is the 1970 French neo-noir Rider on the Rain. It was a huge hit in Europe and won a golden globe here in the USA. It was something of a departure for Bronson, and he was up to the task. 👍
I didn't even know he passed. I just assumed he's retired somewhere. I remember watching Death Wish when I was much younger but didn't really understand the movie till I got older and saw it again. 😑
81, Charles did Good! Magnificent seven, The Great Escape! His Harmonica role in That Great Western with Henry Fonda, Jason Robards! His Death Wish Series was 1 of the First in Hollywood! Many Actors followed that Prototype of Movie making. Bronson was a Man's Man. Similar to Josh Brolin Today!
He played in a movie called Act of Vengeance. It was based on the true story of a family that was murdered over control over the coal mines. I've been to the house it happened in. My Grandpa was pulled over and questioned because he was in the area at the time.

My mom’s family grew up in the same little Pa town. My grandma said for years that he was their neighbor but my aunts said no way. They finally saw a small newspaper article that confirmed what my grandma said all along.
Long before The Expendable with an all star cast I had always wanted to see a movie starring Charles Bronson, Clint Eastwood, Tom Laughlin (Billy Jack) & Jack Nickerson & the lead star in Walking Tall either as a team or pitted against other.
Charles Bronson, has Always been. One of my favorite.actors. He's such a strong character. We've all been blessed, to have enjoyed his performances. All those who survived the World Wars. Are blessed to be alive & sain. I hope I can live as long, & still be productive.
When we talk about American cinema, we mean Steve McQueen, Charlie Bronson, Anthony Quinn, Clint Eastwood, Dustin Hoffman, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach, the undisputed giants of cinema.
Was a cop in Vt. Knew him and his wife both... Her car wouldn't start one cold afternoon on Shelburne Rd.. I offerred her a jump start.. it worked.. months later, she and Charlie were at BTV were I happened to be assigned.. she saw me and pulled him over to me.. He gave me an insanely strong hug, thanked me and said.."I won't forget that.." He never did.. anytime at the Airport, he would jog uptairs to say hello, maybe have coffee before the flight... Great Man, and Woman.. 😢
Stop saying "Death Certificate." Thats NOT what it's called. It is called a "Certificate Of Death." There is a BIG difference between the two!
