I'm from Philippines, I went to Delhi and Noida last year for a business trip and stayed there for more than 4 months. When I approached the lobby of our office there, the guard conducts usual SOP like checking of badge, ID, tokens, etc and then I remember one lady guard said you must be the new guy from the North East, I was kind of wondering and now I know why 😂

finally.... a white american who acknowledges the fact that india is diverse. for instance, i am parsi indian of persian roots(modern day iran). my best friend is a siddi indian(google the siddis... youll be surprised)... then you have north east indians as you rightly pointed out..... and it goes on. even those who have brown skin are diverse in their own regard as they have their own histories, for instance shah rukh khan an indian celebrity has afghani ancestors..... but to the foreign eye "all indians are the same".
