  • This video is about changing the front door speaker on a 2006 Impala or later in this generation of the Impala. This video can also apply to many other vehicles because the concept is the same as it involves simply changing out a speaker in a door....
In this particular case I thought I had a blown speaker but it turned out to be corroded wires that hooked directly to the speaker leads as I explain in the video. I ended up changing out the speaker for a new one anyway because the new ones are marine certified. I wanted to use these new speakers because of the inherent moist environment inside the doors...
I hope this video helps you if you run into the same problem that I had. I will be also replacing the right side door speaker as I'm sure at some point it to will cease to emit sound. If your problem unlike mine is on the right side this video can be used as your guide....thanks for watching...
Work done by Rob Mosley and video recorded by me as well using GoPro 7 and edited using Movavi Video Suite...

I didn't have to remove the window control...just remove the torx screws, 2006 Impala. Thanks for the info

How do those polk door speakers sound? Do they have a lot of bass, or more than stock speakers? I just bought 12 Impala LTZ, has bose, sounds good, but front speakers do not have much bass. I had an 11 impala LT with non bose, the front speakers had decent bass, but the rears did not.

Polk speakers are excellent door applications and sound awesome and they are marine certified for moist locations ....

I can see the crimp marks on the wire sheathing. I don't see how that speaker ever worked without exposed copper contact to the spade plug. Maybe Im wrong...the video cut out and didn't show the actual removal. Just saying...crimping an end doesn't mean piercing the sheathing unless you have specific ends made to do so.

what speakers did you have prior and install after? How did you mount from factory and is the window roll down affected in any way in any scenario?

Prior to the install I had Pioneer and after I used Polk marine. I used the factory mounts from the original speakers. Sorry I just saw this comment now while going over some of my older videos...

Why not just do what I do I and cut the factory plug off and solder wires directly to new speakers 🤔 mean it's not hard to figure out which is +/- and save money on garbage plug adapters...
