    I don't get the latest craze of fire pits, though I have been known to enjoy a few good bonfires on the beach made with driftwood and the odd sitting around a campfire on the beach also made with driftwood

    Agree with everything, the stickers really annoy me especially when they start to peel at the edge and get full of dirt 🤢

    😂😂😂 Hillarious! I think the movie thing is like maybe hoping it’s gonna get better! Ah, I leave the sticker on the geyser cos nobody sees and I couldn’t be bothered!

    This video made me laugh. I think I might understand the movie thing. I am watching a movie I don't like hoping it will get better with some AHA moment. When friends raved about the series "Schitts Creek" I watched the first episode and did not get it but I PERSISTED and came to absolutely love the series.
    I hate the sticker thing especially when people leave them on new cars!
    Conspiracy plots to me usually mean an inability to accept some unpleasant reality. An example would be that there really is evil.

    I gave all my food colourings away when I cleared out things months ago that are harmful including the air freshener in the toilet. It also saved me buying this and that which all added up that I don't really need and want it my home.

    I don't understand people wanting so badly to believe in conspiracy theories. Especially ones that would involve thousands of people being in on the conspiracy and then none of them ever talk? Are you kidding me? Think about the people you know in your personal lives. How many of them can even keep a simple secret?

    • @AThousandWords
      @AThousandWords  Před 3 lety

      EXACTLY!!!!! That's the thing I cannot get past - people don't keep secrets that well!!

  • @chrstopherblighton-sande2981

    I share your confusion on all of those - especially the stickers one! The only times I've sat through entire films that I wasn't enjoying was when the people I was with were enjoying it. Having to resist the urge to doze off as the minutes ticked by interminably while I was wishing for the film to end was bad enough but the fact that I'd paid for that 'privilege' was the icing on the cake :-) Glancing over at the engrossed faces of those enjoying the film at least helped me to while away some of the time in deep musings as to what on earth about the film they could be finding entertaining.
    Your 2-part filter seems like a great one to have for life in general not only conspiracy theories. Life is far too short to expend that much mental energy on such dead-end speculations.

    Further to the stickers on appliances... people who leave the tacking stitches in clothing. If a skirt or jacket has a vent, it has a couple of stitches in an X to hold it together for shipping, but it should be snipped when you wear it. I used to carry a small pair of scissors with me in my purse, when I rode the subway and saw people with clearly new coats on, I secretly thought of reaching out an snipping the stitches for them.

    This is TMI, but I'll share my Red Velvet Cake story as an advisory. I ate a big huge slice. That same summer day it was blueberry season, and I have lots of mature bushes that produce prolifically. Especially after a hard rain that washes them clean I'll stand there eating them like a goat. As most of us know, they're expensive to buy... but when they're unlimited free it's a great experience to overindulge. That said, and that done...I forgot all about it. Next day: I literally pooped red. It didn't occur to me to consider a half gallon of blueberries or the red velvet cake. I was so terrified that I rushed to the hospital convinced I was hemorrhaging and in need of a transfusion. The doctor said we'll need to get a stool sample. Fortunately during my initial panic I thought of that in advance ... so I handed her a container of what I was sure contained parts of my liver, pancreas, maybe a lung. She tests it right there on the spot and tells me I'm not bleeding. Then it dawned on me what just happened. Healthcare here isn't free.... and that was an expensive lesson about the body unable to process that much artificial and natural food coloring. Literally scared the S*** out of me though. So no.... I don't get Red Velvet Cake anymore either.

    Red velvet cake isn't supposed to be "chocolate." It has a small amount of cocoa added to give a hint of flavour, but it's not meant to be full on fudgey chocolate. I do agree that the colour looks like some nuclear fallout. It's popular in the southern states of the U.S.

    • @minnowx7099
      @minnowx7099 Před 3 lety +2

      I made Red Velvet cake just this week! I don’t put food colouring in it. If you use non-dutched cocoa ( I use Pam’s raw organic cacao) then it will be acidic and react with the other ingredients and turn a reddy brown. Not as bright as food colouring and it has a quite unique taste - not quite chocolate (it only has two tablespoons of cocoa), vanilla and buttermilk. It is delicious - my son wanted one for his birthday once so I did a bit of research as I didn’t want to use food colouring.

    I have to remove stickers on appliances immediately. Also I don’t like stickers on the car windows eg here in Australia if you get your car serviced or new tyres they put one of their business stickers on your back windscreen and I remove it as soon as I get home.

    Stickers drive me crazy. Not just on appliances but on anything. I have a coffee cup that took me forever to get the manufacturers sticker off the bottom. Why do they use stickers that are so glued on? Especially items that you have to wash like plates, cups and glasses? I even took those annoying stickers off my laptop ( Intel processor, Windows, etc.)🤣

    • @teemnz8654

      I think some of it it has to do with the David and Goliath analogy. For a small Nation like New Zealand to take it from the Americans was a big deal.
      I could be wrong but l believe that the Americas cup is also the oldest internatiionally contested sports trophy! For any nation to get their hands on it is a major sporting achievement. Kiwis like their sport and aren't too bad when it comes to competeing in the sports arena.
      It's that 'give it a go attitude ' :)

    as for the movie one, you paid money and made the effort to get there and you are most likely with another person so now you feel the need to account for their feelings. Maybe you spent extra money of movie snacks and drink and are too lazy to finish them elsewhere? That does seem silly though. Maybe they don't care about wasting 2 hours because most hours are wasted anyway.
