  • Hello 👋 my name is Sara. Welcome to my channel Crochet for Baby. In today's tutorial I will show you how to crochet this super easy baby romper, dungarees, jumper, overalls, shortalls, or shorties for baby girls from 0-3 months with snap buttons. You can also make this newborn baby romper smaller for a newborn baby or bigger up to 9 months by simply using baby yarn and a different hook size as explained in the tutorial.
    🌷ETSY SHOP LINK FOR WRITTEN PATTERNS: crochetforbabystore.etsy.com
    For this tutorial I used James C Brett double knit baby yarn which is a light #3 baby yarn in the color lilac. I used about 110 grams of yarn along with about 10 grams of white yarn. If you're in the USA I recommend you use Lion Brand Baby Soft yarn since its the equivalent to the yarn i used. To make this little romper I used a 3mm crochet hook. Here’s a link to where you can purchase the yarn, hooks and the snap button kit. Thanks for watching.

My fundation chain had 48+1 chains with that I got the 11,5 inches (29cm) but I can't figure out how to ajust the sleeve space. Could you kindly confirm how to define/ajust the space for the sleeves? Thanks a lot

    Hi Sara, love this romper but I've been putting off making it because of the snaps. I'm a terrible sewer and really struggle with lining up buttons properly on crocheted items, so I decided to take the plunge and try it with snaps. I learned so much with your videos and made many cute little outfits to donate. Now, I was wondering if you could do a short video on how to use your snap kit - preferably showing the felt strip idea as well as how to attach the snaps. Right now, I'm working on your latest blanket. Thank you so much for your videos, they are so easy to follow.

      Glad you like 😊 I just used regular craft felt that had been pre-washed. You can also use a mall 1/4 in bies tape or a small piece of fabric in same size for length of opening. I recommend fabric or ribbon instead. I just weaved it like a ribbon thru each of the dc. I hope this helps.

    I am making for a larger baby. I am curious though at the length before making the legs. A 0-3 month baby is shorter than a 6-9 month. How much longer will it need to be for a good fit?

    • @CrochetForBaby
      @CrochetForBaby  Před 3 lety

      If you’re using a bigger hook it will automatically be bigger in that area because the stitch is bigger with a bigger hook. I hope that answers your question 😊

    • @debbieclemmer5511
      @debbieclemmer5511 Před 3 lety

      @@CrochetForBaby no it don't, I realise a bigger hook will make it bigger around but it won't add length. Your measurement is for 9.5 on the stop for the crotch on 0 to 3 month but babies grow longer I would think an inch for each age group would be necessary. I am not trying to be a pain I love your stuff but this just isn't computing in my mind if that makes sense and I am an experienced crocheter. I just see t want to make sure my great niece won't have a wedgie lol

    • @CrochetForBaby
      @CrochetForBaby  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes that is correct, the measurements are different but If you use a bigger hook it’s automatically bigger by at least an inch all around. Have you made it using the bigger hook so you can see what I mean? I know it can be confusing but try it and you’ll see what I mean. It does come out bigger in the crotch area and all over. I’ve done it many times myself 😉 Also if you want to play it safe you can add a couple of extra rows in that are, the design will not change.
