    Really nice looking prints!
One thing I discovered recently that was limiting the blacks on my prints was that, fearing I might damage my negative with a damp emulsion on the paper, I would make sure the paper was good and dry by using a hair drier on it. I never really paid much attention to humidity, but it seems that leaving the paper very slightly humid improves the blacks.

Indeed! It definitely improves the blacks! :)

A century ago, Paul Strand waxed his platinum prints to increase the depth of the blacks in his prints.

The paper defects in the Arches paper made me switch to Hahnemuhle Platinum Rag and I did not regret it. Maybe you want to give it a try.

My first thought would be some type of sizing. Maybe gelatin/alum like Penn was known to use?
