You can print silver gelatin photo on an inkjet printer? Please tell me your process
Will all due respect, this needed a script and some editing. You could cut this video by a quarter by just eliminating the pauses. V good information otherwise
Nikon
Copyright reserved: Since 1981, I have always rubber stamped the back of my B/W photos back B4 Google was born. Now I just mark them, I did a Grammy Award Winning Album cover back in the 90's and I would be very upset "if" the record company forgot to add my photo credit. After i'm dead and gone the world won't get it twisted and wonder who was the photographer that captured an historical photograph. Everything I make with my hands, I mark as I pass thru LIFE. Nice video....
Great interesting.I also make my own works with platinum prints in TOKYO.
Sounds amazing! Feel free to share it on our Discord
Where's the platinum? Plalladium is not platinum; the two metals respond differently to contrast boosting chemicals and to different substrates. Just calling water sulfuric acid does not make it acid.
How dare you pixelate that prime beef cake! You'll never get anywhere if you don't titillate your viewers. Keep your fingers away from the lens _ you don't know where they have been . Oh, and what is up with taking photos with your shades on? I see that more and more on YT.
The only good way I found to hold the UW&S is to use the "Widelux Grip" with your hand completely behind the camera.
I make my own glass plate emulsion so maybe this doesn't apply to commercial high speed film. But I found that Kodak D-19 at 1+4 is the very best developer for alternative processes. High contrast, very dense negatives, makes prints with exceptionally wide density range but you definitely need a powerful UV light to avoid very long printing times.
Just the fact you are talking about PPI while actually meaning DPI makes this video completely useless
"Last, and certainly least"👏
Awesome Masterpiece Print,Fine Art!
Thank you !
Learned this the hard way, after spending quite a bit of money printing/shipping a large print. Also the need for color calibration, too. LOL.That'll frustrate you even more.
THANK YOU! As LF/ULF user I love to hear some truth about film, especially for LF/ULF. One of the reasons I continue to use these formats is because I can compose for the actual size of the print. I do only contact printing and so I making the print I saw in the field.
Do you provide the service of making a digital negative to purchase?
If you own a camera store mabe you can help me find a nikon mn-30 for my F5?
Sorry we don't have it. We use the ms30. I recommend Ebay for that. Good luck
Maravilla de video, como todos! Muchas gracias
De nada!
Can this be done on any disposable camera? What model do they use in the video?
Unfortunately no. We can only do it on Kodaks
I have a question. Why does this matter? Why not just print in higher ppi? I have read that it doesn't use more ink. I'm a novice and just got a pixma pro 200 so I was just wondering.. Thanks! Great video!
Really nice looking prints! One thing I discovered recently that was limiting the blacks on my prints was that, fearing I might damage my negative with a damp emulsion on the paper, I would make sure the paper was good and dry by using a hair drier on it. I never really paid much attention to humidity, but it seems that leaving the paper very slightly humid improves the blacks.
Indeed! It definitely improves the blacks! :)
Gampi paper absorbs chemistry. I've found you can't really spread it on the paper so you dab your brush into the chemistry and dab it onto the paper.
After losing patience printing to an Epson 3880 from Mac OS, I finally tried Epson Print Layout as a plug-in RIP for Photoshop and it's *so* much more straightforward and reliable.
Veryyyyyyy sickkkkk
Hehe! Thanks a lot!
this is not exactly a "how to" video because you didn't say a word about the magic coating you applied
I am following you for Pd printing, as I print Palladium & Silver print myself. I use Hasselblad, M6 and Mamiya 7II . I know the XPan result and the frame it provides. I want ask you couple of things soon.
Feel free to ask questions! It's the reason of this channel
I only read "How to get rich". That was enough. LOL
😂
beautiful works... after listen f-stop collaborate podcast, i really want to make this print so much.
Go for it! It's an amazing printing process!
Glossy = Piezography GO overprint?
Wow
Amazing video, but I'm pissed! Please rerelease the "Blood Sweat Platinum" T-shirt!! I'll buy at least 4 of them!! I'm a big guy and need a 2 X
A century ago, Paul Strand waxed his platinum prints to increase the depth of the blacks in his prints.
so what's the trick?
where is the information on the glossy paper? you seemed to have talked about everything but how to get the gloss.
WOW! Great stuff!
beautiful! also the picture itself !
That's a "whale" of a print! haha Great photos great prints.
Thank you 😁
The paper defects in the Arches paper made me switch to Hahnemuhle Platinum Rag and I did not regret it. Maybe you want to give it a try.
Maybe :)
Glossy!
My first thought would be some type of sizing. Maybe gelatin/alum like Penn was known to use?
Prey tell expound on this gloss you speak of…how
Those came out great!
Looking awesome! What is that mist machine and its purpose?
Thanks! Its purpose is to increase humidity in the room. It's super important for platinum palladium to have a humidified paper.
More than amazed
Thanks a lot!
thanks for the info, great video! does this work with the metric system?
When's the next Sedona workshop?
Either late 2024 or early 2025! We'll let you know ASAP. Thanks for the interest :)
Yeah, I was already a little skeptic when you started with "process C is better", and then revealed that you had actually never done process A. And it would have been REALLY nice if we could have seen what the actual prints looked like, you know, up close.
Know anyone who can fix one?
There's one option you have not considered.... the Fuji GFX50R with Pentax 645 lenses. I just ordered my first Pentax 645A lens to try it out. For me the advantage is not only price but weight. Those Fuji GF lenses are so, so heavy. I am tempted to buy a Pentax 645N as well, but looking at this comparison makes me think it might not be worth it.
I also use Legion Revere paper for Pt/Pd printing. Like Arches and the others it is treated and ready to use. Easy to work with and gives incredible contrast. I love Arches Platine, but Legion Revere is less expensive.
Thanks for sharing!
