I also have been learning Somali. I have lots of friends from Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Somali. Some are like family. It was hard at first, but got easier as I went along. It's the structure of the sentences that tend to be confusing at times.
This is the second language I'm learning. I live in Columbus Ohio, and there are many Somalians here, I also work with many people from Somalia. So I thought I could try to learn a little. Everyone is very surprised when I start speaking their language.
I haven't even scratched the surface yet, but I want to learn a lot.
He sound better than most somali people wallahi lol. Keep up the good work brother ❤❤

Hi Afric Network i watched some of your videos and how you're trying to connect to your African brother/sisters, not so many African Americans do what you're doing and i think is great. If you're serious about knowing Somali please find more of the ancient history and language, in Somalia there is average or street language and a formal Somali language. Much Love

We have ''please'' in somali.. i know coz i am a linguist... here is how we say please in somali...... Sug means wait... but sug is aggrasive and commanding.. but '' iisug'' also mean wait but this time it is softer, kinder and requesting.... majority of somalis dont know this but those of u who read this know now
how do you say please?
Just add ''ii'' infront of the verb.......ii sameey. ii kaadi, ii seexo, ii cab, ii cun,...
The '' ii '' stands for 'please, requesting and kindness while saying sameey ,sug, seexo, cab, cun is the opposite

Africnetwork@hotmail.com
I am Learning how to speak Somalian and banguian; at least the basic stuff. I love my muslim/somalian co-workers and want to take the time to learn their language.
This is awesome. I think it would be easier if you would see the written words as they are presented to you. It's the way polyglots do to learn languages (read and listen)
Thank you so much! I appreciate the feed back, and in the future I will deff do that. Thank you so much for watching and welcome.
I'm somali, and the somali guy is teaching u the difficult dialect, there's a simpler version that I speak and that people speak in djibouti do you heard about djiboutian people
do you mean waqoyi dialect? the northern dialect? that djiboutians and people from somaliland speak.. yeh that's much easier tbh
the best version is mudug dialect, djiboutians sound a bit off.
safa mohamed ali he is not teaching him a dilect , it is the formal Somali. Regional dilects are not used in professional writing and adress.
true this was so complicated no one in my family talks like this casually 😞
safa mohamed ali it's not hard ree xamar somali 😂 Djiboutian is more harder
This was really good, keep it up bro! BTW you are officially Somali now after this video😉

Mishie Ava Ka raali ahaw is not originally Somali , it was adapted to Somali from arabic (ridaa).
Raali ahow means excuse me
