Very true. Before I thought only your parents could use these terms towards you. Then when I was exposed to multiple Somali grandmothers you learn there's this almost rudeness in the Somali language. I've found this is very similar to Asian, specifically Chinese culture. When an individual speaks to you this way, I now feel like they're family though they might be strangers.
